Kanji's POV

"Are you alright?" Erza asked.

"It's fine." I looked off feeling a deep longing in my chest, I knew Erza and Wendy could sense it too "I can deal with it later, for now I need to focus on saving anyone I can."

I turned to her "Are you alright, I'm sure this wasn't easy."

"I'll be fine, Mother or not she got what she deserved." Erza sighed looking at Wendy who was still exhausted "I want this to be over."

"Right." I stretched a bit "So do I."

I felt the ground starting to rumble.

"Crap with her out of commission the enchantment on the land is falling apart, everything is being pushed back to normal." I hissed.

The ground shifted and twisted back to its original shape, sending Wendy, Erza and I to the middle of town near the girls' dorm.

"Kanji!" Lauren yelled out having been displaced here "You guys alright?"

"Hmm." I nodded "You okay?"

"I'm fine but…Grandpa isn't…" she frowned "He-."

"I know, I'll deal with it later." I said "what's that?"

She was dragging a woman behind her.

"Where's Laxus?" she asked.

"I'm not sure he can't be far though." I told her.

"The three of us need to talk about this." She gestured back "It's one of the Spriggan 12, Dimaria Yesta."

"Hmm." I looked at my sister as our brother arrived.

"What?" Laxus asked as she stood there.

"Well her name is Dimaria but her face is…" Lauren dropped the woman "The original Lauren Dreyer, our mother."

"I…" I looked down at the woman as she groaned.

"Ow…" Dimaria hissed "What happened-HA!"

"Hmm…" I stared down at her "It's really her."

"Are you sure it's not an enchantment or something." Erza asked.

"No, it would have broken when we beat Irene like all the others did." I said.

"This is the real deal alright." Laxus nodded.

"My, you boys have gotten so big." Mom stood up "It's been a while, let's hug."

"Don't." I put my hand up.

"But-."

"You might be my mother that's true, but the mother I knew is already long buried." I said walking past her "A real mother doesn't abandon her kids. Don't come here and act like we're just gonna pick up where we left off."

"Hmm…" she sighed a bit.

"If you want our forgiveness." Lauren said "You'll have to earn it."

"And it'll take a lifetime." Laxus said "Because of this stupid war the only family to ever be there for us is…"

Dimaria frowned "I…I understand, I don't deserve to just walk back into your lives but…"

She covered her face.

"She's crying?!" Wendy yelped.

"I'm just so glad I got to see you again!" Mom cried "Leaving you all hurt so much!"

"Jeez." I groaned "Quit the water works."

"I really hope those are sincere tears." Lauren pouted "Cause I'm super falling for them you two!"

"Uhh." Laxus looked uncomfortable "Whatever."

"Sorry." Mom wiped her face.

"Well you still need to earn it but…" I started and sighed.

"We're glad you're not dead." My siblings and I said.

"Hmm, me too." Mom smiled.

Suddenly all of us stopped and I looked back, the magic pressure had spiked again.

"August…" Dimaria mumbled.

"He's the last one." Lauren looked up "And the strongest by far."

"We need to go, standing around here is useless." I told the others before my skin crawled as someone landed behind us "Crap."

"I got bored." Acnologia walked out of the dust and stepping over Irene like she was a doormat "and I found three at once."

"He got warped back here too." I mumbled "This is gonna get ugly."
