With Yuna's life in danger after fighting to bring Kouga back to the light and a new foe arriving to cause trouble, the Bronze Saints will risk just about anything. Chapter 20: Trenching Aftermath! The Unbreakable Bond!
Kouga became rather devastated once he saw on what happened to Yuna.
"Yuna! Yuna! Get a grip of yourself, Yuna!" Kouga hollered, shaking Yuna.
Yuna didn't respond.
Kouga became rather distraught.
"Damnit." Kouga muttered.
Kouga began to glance upon the cave that he had sheltered in earlier.
Kouga began to carry the unconscious Yuna into his arms.
Kouga wasted no time in bringing Yuna back to the cave for medical help.
Kouga immediately place Yuna down safely.
Kouga then observed the herbs.
"She was going to used those on you." Wadd explained.
Kouga then began to focus his attention on the herbs. Finishing on what Yuna had started.
Elsewhere, on Yemen; Hinra Aria could easily felt her brother's trauma.
She then stood up, gazing into the light.
Eden began to take utter notice.
"Aria?" Eden asked.
Hinra Aria then turned to Eden. Returning to her former self in the process.
"Eden. We must come together as one again if we're going to overcome this situation. Kouga, Yuna and everyone needs us." Aria stated.
Aria became rather sad.
"I...I don't want to be afraid anymore." Aria declared.
Eden then handed Aria her staff.
Aria slightly blushed once having her staff in her grasp again.
Eden and Aria then clasped onto each other's hand.
After having a tense brawl with the Bronze Saints; the Shaaytans had retreated within the Ifrits's hideout.
"Those damn Bronzes." Ulra muttered.
Then, a slow clap had emerged afterwards. Coming from one of the Ifrits who had yet to enter the battlefield.
"Well, that was some show you guys put on." Azu commented.
Maazra became rather furious with the deep cyan Ifrit.
"I haven't seen you out there yet!" Maazra stated.
Azu then let out a small smirk.
"Well, you got me there. Watching closely on the battles so far; you gave me a reason to exterminate the lowest of Athena's rank of warriors." Azu complimented.
Azu could already feel a challenge waiting for her.
Izure then calmly gripped Azu by the wrist.
"Don't underestimate the lowlife vermin for a second. Azu. Be careful out there." Izure advised.
Azu then gracefully smiled at her lover.
"I won't fail Al-Quam-sama. Just like I won't failed you, my love." Azu promised.
Therefore, Azu teleported away so that she could slowly destroyed her prey.
Back in Gerrha; Kouga was still trying to pull himself together when it comes to restoring Yuna back into good shape.
Wadd then approached Kouga.
"Hey. You did everything you could. Maybe, it's time to break away from trying to save her." Wadd stated.
However, Kouga does not want to call it quits. Not yet.
"No! I can't do that!" Kouga barked.
Kouga then glared at Yuna's unconscious state. Kouga became rather lost on what he should do.
"Yuna." Kouga muttered.
Kouga gripped tightly on Yuna's hand.
"Kouga!" Souma hollered.
Kouga and Wadd then looked up as they were completely shocked to see the other Bronze Saints and the three younger girls here in the same place as them.
Raki then hugged Kouga.
"You're okay, Kouga!" Raki chirped.
Souma, Ryuho, Haruto, Sachi and Emma became rather devastated by Yuna's lifeless body.
"Yuna." Ryuho said.
Then, Raki became rather quiet as she immediately saw Yuna's state.
Selene and Reina then consulted Raki.
"Yuna?" Raki asked.
Raki immediately touched Yuna's forehead.
"Is Yuna-san alright?" Sachi asked.
Raki remained rather sad.
"It's like she has no pulse whatsoever." Raki replied.
The other Bronze Saints became rather devastated about this fact.
Kouga remained rather focused on Yuna.
Souma's denominator quickly changed afterwards.
"What in the hell did you do, Kouga?" Souma asked.
Kouga remained quiet.
Souma became rather furious with Kouga as he grabbed him by his shirt.
"Start talking, you idiot!" Souma demanded.
Kouga couldn't find the right answer.
"Souma. I…" Kouga replied.
Souma did not want to hear a little excuse. Knowing too well that Kouga and darkness don't mesh well together.
"I'm not even cracking a joke here! How could you hurt us, your friends! You even hurt your own girlfriend, the one person who was the only one who refused to turn her back on you when the rest of us didn't!" Souma barked.
Raki began to clear her throat.
"Actually, Souma. Selene, Reina and I were on the same vote as Yuna was." Raki clarified.
The Bronze Saints became rather shocked by Souma's behavior.
"Souma..." Haruto lamented.
Sachi then approached Souma.
"Hey, we all make mistakes, Souma-san. We all swore that we wouldn't be fighting among ourselves. And that includes fighting against Kouga-san." Sachi explained.
Souma was struck by rage that he ignited fire from his arm. Blindly hitting Sachi's face in the process.
"Souma-san, you dick! I was trying to keep the peace!" Sachi retorted.
Ryuho then consulted Sachi. All while Sachi was feeling venomous pain.
"Are you okay, Sachi-san?" Ryuho asked.
Kouga then caught a glance of Souma's fire.
"Well, I know what needs to be done! For Yuna's sake!" Souma barked.
Souma was about to throw a heavy punch at Kouga. Until he was consciously stopped by Emma.
"Please don't go through with this, Souma-san." Emma advised.
Souma became rather upset with Emma.
"Get out of my way, Emma! This is a man's fight!" Souma announced.
Emma began to have a rather sad look on her face.
"I know you want to punch out Kouga-san, Souma-san. Believe me; no one will blame you for doing it. But, even though we may squabble from time to time, a friend is still a friend. A precious one. Friends will always be there to support one another. Even if the situation is at a dangerous point. I think the philosophy is never turned your back on a friend." Emma commented.
Everyone became rather amazed by Emma's choice of words.
Even Souma felt convinced by it.
Emma then smiled at Souma.
"Right, Souma-san?" Emma asked.
Souma eventually calm down as he decided to not punch out Kouga. As he was still their friend.
"Darn, when you're right; you're right." Souma admitted.
Souma heavily smirked at Emma.
"I guess we're having a lot of effect on you, squirt." Souma commented.
Emma simply smiled at Souma.
Then, out of the blue; Eden and Aria had arrived on the scene via Aria's staff.
"Eden-san! Aria-san!" Emma hollered.
Aria came beside Kouga.
"I'm glad you're okay, Kouga." Aria stated.
Kouga immediately felt the same for his sister. Seeing that she had returned to normal like he had been.
"I just wish that it was the same for Yuna." Kouga confessed.
Kouga's eyes became rather sorrowful as Aria wanted to share the sadness with her brother.
"Kouga." Aria muttered.
Aria then observed her friend in a sad tension.
"Yuna." Aria said, in a soft manner.
Eden then approached Kouga.
Kouga began to give Eden the death stare.
"You here to kicked my ass again, Eden?" Kouga asked.
Aria became rather confused as she slowly glanced at Eden.
"A-again?" Aria asked.
Eden shakes his head.
"No. I wanted to apologize for earlier. It was unethical of me. I'm sorry, Kouga." Eden replied.
Kouga slightly smiled.
"No, don't apologize at all, Eden. I kind of deserved that. Besides, Souma was about to give me a beating three seconds ago." Kouga flustered.
Souma sharply smirked.
"I still planned to do so if you destroyed our trust again!" Souma retorted.
Raki then thought of something.
Raki then glanced at the herbs that Kouga was finishing.
"I know! We can batch up some new spices and combined them with the remaining herbs to make a new medicine for Yuna!" Raki suggested.
Selene then claps her hands together.
"Great idea!" Selene beamed.
Reina happily nodded her head.
"Yup, yup!" Reina hollered.
Raki then turned to Kouga in a reassuring manner.
"Just say the word, Kouga and we'll get to work on the double!" Raki beamed.
Kouga thought Raki's suggestion was a great one at best.
"I would do anything for Yuna. She was always by my side thick and thin. Now, it's my turn to repay the debt." Kouga stated.
The Bronze Saints found themselves in awe with Kouga's deep devotion to Yuna.
Aria immediately places her hand onto Kouga's hand.
"Let's work hard on restoring Yuna together. You don't have to feel alone anymore, Kouga. Never feel that way. Always remember that we have each other. I feel like when we're together, we can do anything." Aria reassured.
Kouga smiled at his sister.
"The strong bond between siblings. Thanks, Aria. I really needed that." Kouga lamented.
Aria simply smiled at her brother.
Then, Haruto heard something.
"Haruto? What's up?" Souma asked.
Haruto then shushed Souma.
"We have company." Haruto replied.
Haruto then instructed Souma, Ryuho, Sachi and Emma to follow him out of the cave.
"Took you long enough! I was starting to get bored!" Azu barked.
The Bronze Saints were quite shocked to see Azu.
Wadd was surprised to see Azu.
"You're...!" Ryuho hollered.
Azu wasted no time in pointing out the details.
"Another Ifrit! Name's Azu; the Ifrit of manipulation! It's a pleasure, Bronze Saints!" Azu announced, introducing herself to the Bronze Saints.
Azu then focused her attention onto Kouga and Aria from within the cave. As well as glancing at Wadd.
"Sorry, but, I'm more interested in a much valuable prey. The god-slayer of a Pegasus and his weak twin sister!" Azu declared.
Azu began to jump toward the cave.
"She's going after Kouga-san and Aria!" Sachi hollered.
As Azu was halfway towards the cave; Raki managed to use Aria's staff to make forth a blockage of strong glass.
Azu began to bang on the glass.
"Sorry, but, we're in the middle of something! So, don't even think of interrupting us!" Raki barked.
Aria then glanced at her friends.
"Please, everyone. Stall her while we finished making the medicine for Yuna." Aria pleaded.
The Bronze Saints nodded their heads as they equipped onto their Cloths.
"Yeah, we'll buy you some time!" Souma hollered.
Azu was soon losing patience.
"Fine. If that's how it is." Azu stated.
Azu then charged at the Bronze Saints.
"We're counting on you, guys." Kouga affirmed.
Therefore, Kouga and the others began to make the final touches of the medicine for Yuna.
Selene was chopping some dice sugar.
Raki stirred a bowl of oatmeal. She immediately gave the spoon to Wadd, in which, became rather confused about.
Reina began to pour some honey mustard and lemon into a cup.
Eden carefully put a dash of paprika into a bottle.
Afterwards, Aria then gathered all of the ingredients into a new bowl as she pours them into the bowl with the already used medicine.
Kouga and the others began to watch the combination
"Alright." Kouga muttered.
Azu decided that the games with her foes are done.
"Alright. I've had enough fun." Azu admitted.
Through unknown circumstances; Azu managed to crush the Bronze Saints from the inside.
Kouga and the others were watching in horror.
"What is this mess?" Haruto asked.
Azu then smirked.
"Voodoo." Azu replied.
The Bronze Saints couldn't feel anything afterwards.
"It's like she's a female Harbinger!" Souma hollered.
Sachi could feel her head throbbing.
"Goddamnit!" Sachi yelled.
Azu then sprung the Bronze Saints into a circle as she eventually forced them to collide into one another.
The Bronze Saints felled to the ground.
"Everyone!" Aria hollered.
Azu became rather amused with herself.
Then, she glared at Kouga and Aria.
"I can't believe you! Letting these people fight in your stead! How pathetic!" Azu barked.
Azu instantly laughed to herself.
Souma, Ryuho, Haruto, Sachi and Emma began to stand up. Much to the relief of Kouga, Eden, Aria, Raki, Selene, Reina and Wadd.
"Having faith in your friends is not a weakness!" Ryuho declared.
Sachi began to rub off the scraps off her face.
"In hindsight; you're the weaker one. The bonds that we have with one another are unbreakable. It makes us stronger emotionally and psychically." Sachi explained.
Those words struck though Kouga.
"Our bonds are stronger than the darkness itself. Nothing will ever change as long as we have that sacred bond to prevail." Emma commented.
Haruto then took out a dagger.
"We're going to defeat you." Haruto declared.
Souma began to crunch his knuckles.
"Putting our bonds on the line." Souma finished.
Azu then pointed out a blade at the Bronze Saints.
"Then try me." Azu challenged.
The Bronze Saints then engaged in battle with Azu.
The last few words of his friends had struck upon Kouga.
"Bonds." Kouga muttered.
Kouga, Eden and Aria began to join together in stirring the newly-enhanced medicine.
Kouga carefully titled Yuna's head up so that she could get a sip on the medicine.
"You were always there for me numerous times, believed in my own light and saved me from the darkness, Yuna. This time, I want to save you, with my own hands, Yuna. I'm not going to give up on you. Please. I don't want to face an unknown future without you in it." Kouga conceded.
Aria, Raki, Selene and Reina then looked upon Kouga with great worry.
"Kouga. You..." Eden thought.
Unknown to Kouga; Yuna was having a self-consciousness within her own mind.
Yuna was walking alone.
Eventually, she stumbled across a cemetery.
"A cemetery?" Yuna asked.
There, Yuna had come face-to-face with her mentor, the Peacock Silver Saint, Pavlin. A spirit no less.
"Hello, Yuna. It's been a long time." Pavlin stated.
Yuna was filled with tears of joy.
Yuna immediately hugged her mentor.
"Pavlin!" Yuna chirped.
Pavlin warmly rub her hand on Yuna's honey blonde hair.
"I've really missed you so much, Pavlin. I-I mean, Pavlin-senpai." Yuna confessed, automatically correcting herself.
Pavlin then lower down to Yuna's stature.
"You need to wake up, Yuna." Pavlin commented.
Yuna became rather confused.
"Wake up? But, I'm not sleeping, senpai." Yuna reassured.
Pavlin had a sad look on her face.
"Yes, you are." Pavlin said.
Yuna became rather shocked by this turnabout.
Pavlin then placed her hands onto Yuna's shoulders.
"Look." Pavlin advised.
Yuna began to look upon a large cloud as she saw Kouga alongside Aria and Eden within the large cloud.
"Kouga. Eden. Aria." Yuna said.
Yuna began to grasp onto her chest.
Yuna instantly remembered what happened to her earlier.
"That's right. The surge of darkness." Yuna lamented.
Pavlin carefully looked upon the large cloud.
"I could tell that boy called Kouga-kun is going to need you, Yuna." Pavlin confirmed.
Yuna began to smile warmly, knowing that her mentor was right about that fact.
"Yes. As much as I need him too, senpai." Yuna confessed.
Yuna then witnessed the bridge of light.
"Will I ever see you again, senpai?" Yuna asked.
Pavlin then gave Yuna a warm smile.
"In due time, Yuna. Right now, your future is waiting for you." Pavlin replied.
Yuna then gave Pavlin a warm farewell hug.
"Goodbye for now, senpai." Yuna reassured.
The two then parted ways afterwards.
Yuna began to run towards the bridge of light. Racing back to her friends and her beloved Saint of Light.
While all of this was happening; the Bronze Saints had managed to overthrow Azu.
"Tch. I will take notes of this. To never mock your bonds." Azu commented.
Azu then took her leave.
Wadd became rather worried about himself if the Bronze Saints ever found out.
"Yeah, you better run!" Sachi taunted.
The Bronze Saints immediately went back to their regular casual clothes.
The super glass then disappeared from the cave completely
Kouga poured one more dose of the enhanced medicine onto Yuna's mouth.
"Come on, Yuna. Pull through. You just have to." Kouga thought.
A warm squeeze immediately touched Kouga's hand.
Eden, Aria and the three younger girls had taken notice.
Kouga's expression drastically changed.
Yuna had returned to complete strength.
Yuna then had a great smile on her face.
"Kouga. Hi." Yuna greeted.
Kouga became rather happy upon seeing Yuna awake and cured.
"Yuna. Hi." Kouga greeted.
Kouga and Yuna then grabbed hold of each other's hand.
"You saved me, Kouga?" Yuna asked.
Yuna began to warmly smile at Kouga.
"Thank you, Kouga. I'm very grateful." Yuna complimented.
Kouga began to blush in a bashful fashion.
"I would do anything for you, Yuna." Kouga admitted.
Kouga and Yuna warmly smiled at one another as they engaged into a very passionate embrace.
Yuna then turned to Aria.
"Aria." Yuna said, smiling.
Aria began to warmly hugged Yuna.
"Yuna. Thank goodness." Aria wept, shedding tears of happiness.
Yuna then returned the gesture on Aria.
Raki, Selene and Reina then joined in afterwards.
Kouga then reached for Yuna's hand, who in turn, reached for Aria's hand.
Aria then extended her other hand for Eden.
The four then headed outside from the cave.
There, they were joined by their friends within an embrace build on their friendship and strong bonds.
Much later, Kouga and Yuna were given some alone time by a riverside close to the cave.
"This feels really nice. We've haven't gotten some time alone like this in a while." Yuna confessed.
Kouga then nodded his head.
"You're right." Kouga stated.
Kouga then gazed at Yuna.
"Y-Yuna." Kouga stammered, blushing.
Yuna then gazed at Kouga afterwards.
"K-Kouga." Yuna stammered, blushing.
Kouga and Yuna's eyes have met with one another.
"I don't want this to be the end for us!" Kouga and Yuna blurted in unison.
Kouga and Yuna became rather quiet.
"We've been through so many trials together. I don't want to change any of that. Not one bit." Yuna confessed.
Kouga silently agreed.
"Me neither." Kouga stated.
Yuna felt relieved once Kouga had said that.
"You've mean a great deal to me, Kouga. Both emotionally and spiritually." Yuna commented.
Yuna then slightly scooted to Kouga's side. Gently holding his hand.
Kouga then returned the gesture.
"You're important to me too, Yuna." Kouga flustered.
Kouga and Yuna smiled at one another.
"I want to talk about anything with you, Yuna. Travelling, facing an unknown future together...And maybe start a family one day together." Kouga explained.
That last word had caught both Kouga and Yuna by surprise.
"N-no! I-I mean..." Kouga stammered.
Yuna warmly smiled. Effectively being open to Kouga's suggestion.
"A family. I would like to have that one day with you, Kouga." Yuna stated.
Yuna then gazed at Kouga.
"The love that I feel for you...It's still there, Kouga. That incredible spark." Yuna confessed, smiling.
Kouga began to deeply blush.
"Yeah. I know what you mean, Yuna." Kouga said.
Yuna then lid up her right pinky towards Kouga.
"We can start fresh. Back to where we left off before everything turned dark. No more secrets between us. Talk to each other on a greater level like we always had. Furthermore, we vow to protect each other at all times." Yuna suggested.
Yuna began to take a deep breath afterwards.
"Pinky promise?" Yuna asked.
Kouga felt rather conflicted. He didn't want to hurt Yuna.
Yuna then warmly smiled at Kouga.
"That is, it's up to your heart and your Cosmo if you want it, Kouga." Yuna stated.
Kouga then made up his mind. He can't bear losing Yuna.
Kouga lid up his right pinky towards Yuna's pinky. Enclosing on their promise.
"I pinky promise, Yuna!" Kouga replied.
Kouga and Yuna smiled at one another in a romantic fashion.
Then, Yuna remembered something.
"Almost forgot. Do you still have that shard, Kouga?" Yuna asked.
Kouga took out the red shard from his pants pocket.
"Of course." Kouga replied.
Yuna immediately grabbed hold of the shard as she began to stomp onto it with her brown boots.
Afterwards, Yuna threw the shard deep into the lake with all of her might.
"Now, we can start fresh." Yuna declared.
Then, Kouga surprised Yuna by lifting her with all of his strength.
"Yeah! Like it never happened!" Kouga hollered.
Yuna began to blush around Kouga.
"K-Kouga!" Yuna hollered.
Kouga just snickered.
"I miss you, Yuna." Kouga confessed.
Yuna gently grinned at Kouga.
"I missed you too, Kouga. You idiot." Yuna confessed.
Kouga and Yuna then engaged in a very passionate kiss on the lips.
Yuna then blushed in embarrassment as something caught her attention.
"I think we have an audience, Kouga." Yuna admitted.
Yuna began to tap onto Kouga's shoulder.
Kouga immediately caught on as his sister and their friends were watching.
"You guys are the best!" Sachi snickered.
Aria began to giggle in pure happiness.
"Don't ever change at all, Kouga and Yuna." Aria giggled.
Kouga and Yuna immediately joined their friends.
"So, how many hours do we have left, Raki?" Kouga asked.
Raki began to ponder for a bit.
"About 52 hours at least." Raki replied.
Everyone else especially Wadd became rather worried.
"I'm sure that we'll have plenty of time before destruction erupts." Yuna reassured.
Yuna then gripped onto Kouga's hand.
"Right, sweetie?" Yuna asked.
Kouga immediately gripped onto Yuna's hand.
"Right, babe." Kouga replied.
Souma then galloped on Kouga and Yuna.
"Be sure to invite me to your wedding!" Souma hollered.
Kouga and Yuna began to rapidly blush.
"We're heading towards Jordan in the meantime." Eden commented.
Kouga became rather excited.
"Then, Jordan it is!" Kouga beamed.
Yuna simply smiled at Kouga.
The Bronze Saints along with Raki, Selene, Reina and Wadd began to walk off instantly.
Except for Kouga and Yuna, of course.
"It will be okay, Kouga. We'll overcome anything if we're together." Yuna reassured.
Kouga just focused his attention onto Yuna.
"Yeah. Together forever, Yuna. A Saint's work is never done." Kouga commented.
Kouga and Yuna warmly smiled at one another.
Kouga then put his hands onto Yuna's as they went for another kiss on the lips.
Kouga and Yuna then met up with their friends. Hand in hand. As a reunited match.
"We were seriously going to leave you guys behind." Souma stated.
Kouga and Yuna both immediately began to brush off Souma's comment in a very sarcastic flavor.
Aria simply just giggled.
Emma then whispered to Souma's ear.
"W-Was that a joke, Souma-san?" Emma asked.
Souma casually just snickered.
"Maybe. Maybe not." Souma replied.
Therefore, with a newfound resolve at hope; Kouga's group began their journey towards the port of Jordan.
