Chapter 6. Night out

Anna entered their washroom and emerged 5 minutes later. The twins were still putting on their coats when she stepped out in a short halter backless black dress, her hair slightly curled, and her makeup perfectly done.

"Wow." Both twins drunkenly whispered.

"What'ya think boys? I transfigured my tank top, could you tell?" She twirled around.

The sight of her bare toned legs, arms, shoulders, and creamy flawless back was making Fred's potion act up, he slowly walked up behind her and slowly began stroking her arms up to her shoulders. "You look so hot."

Even being a full head shorter than Fred had never made a dent in her attitude towards him. She nonchalantly took his hands in hers and spun out of his grasp gracefully. "Hands off, Fred." She pulled her wand out of a pocket in the flowy dress and apparated the quill and pad again. "Note to self, dial down handsiness."

"You are so wonderful for doing this." George said from across the room smiling dumbly.

They ended up at a seedy pub in Knockturn Alley with some decent food and a small dance floor. Given the high numbers of couples looking over their shoulders while making out she assumed this place was frequented by those who didn't want their relationships known. As good a place as any to test the potions out.

After some food and a few more rounds of Firewhiskey shots the trio were talking in their booth happily.

"Why the kissing?" Asked George, slurring his words a little bit.

"When you asked me out? Aw it's stupid really, my brother Auggie used to tell me it was really mortifying asking girls out, and the worst was the ones who were downright cruel about it and laughed in his face. I swore I wouldn't be cruel to anyone who put themselves out there to ask me out." She smiled and sipped her drink again.

"Then what about the line-up of gits outside madam Pomfrey's? Fred asked, snickering.

"Those idiots weren't asking me out, they heard some rumour that I would kiss anyone who asked me out and were just trying to snog me. The truth is I only kissed guys that actually put an effort into trying to know me before asking me out, I can actually count them in one hand." She said wiggling her fingers lazily.

"I asked you out tons of times, but you only kissed me twice, what gives?" Fred said leaning in almost bumping his face with her hand.

Anna playfully pushed his face away. "Out of all those times you only blushed twice. I'm a sucker for guys that blush."

"Ohhhhhh now I get it!" George said happily slumped in his seat.

"And why not, you know, actually go out with us?" Fred asked leaning back cockily in his seat.

Anna's face darkened. "And give my dad a potential hostage to force me into the death eaters? He did it to Francis, I wasn't going to give him leverage."

Fred smiled and leaned in again. "I wouldn't mind torture to be with you."

Anna stood up shockingly sober and pulled out her wand again conjuring up her quill. "I don't think I can stomach your conversations right now. Note to self, alcohol seems to not alter the effects."

"Let's go dance boys."
