Chapter 18. Decisions
Fred apparated back in the store he didn't want to walk into anything he wouldn't unsee.
He stood outside his own flat's door and knocked.
After a beat Anna answered, she quickly stepped outside and closed the door behind her.
She once again wore yesterday's clothes, but her hair smelled of his shampoo. Fred could see her expression was serious and thoughtful. She looked at him for a second before speaking.
"I'll keep myself busy downstairs so you two can talk in private." She said, and stepped to his side walking quickly, before his hand surrounded her wrist.
"Anna, wait." Fred said nervously.
She turned and saw his expression which made her step closer to him concerned. "What's wrong Fred?"
He suddenly pulled her into him and crashed his lips fervently against hers. Anna gasped allowing his tongue entrance and making her knees weak. She kissed him back just as passionately, her hands pulling him towards her just as strongly as his were.
He broke the kiss slowly admiring her face as he did.
"Anna, I want to be with you." Fred said very seriously.
"Fred! You promised!" Anna said almost in a whine.
"I bowed to obliviate you, act normal, and not tell a soul I'm dying. And I plan to keep that promise. But you never actually saw when I obliviate you, did you?" He asked, slightly smirking.
Anna shook her head almost imperceptibly.
"That's because from now until the day they tell me to go to Hogwarts to battle, I decided you'll be my secret girlfriend." He said smiling broadly.
"Do I get any say in this?" Anna asked, arching her brow.
"Say yes?" He asked mischievously.
"So, let me get this straight, not only will you carry the secret of your death. But you'll sneak around, apparate, shag me within an inch of my life whenever you want, without telling a soul; for however long it takes for this war to escalate to a final battle in Hogwarts upon which day you'll just quickly apparate at my place before going to your death and obliviate all memories of all this ever happening until I can only recall you two as those mildly annoying twins that used to stalk me at school?" She said looking slightly aggravated.
"Pretty much, yes." Fred said, almost chuckling at the ludicrous sound of it all.
"Okay, I can live with that." Anna deadpanned.
"Seriously?!" Fred's asked incredulously.
"Hey, healer training is stressful, I could use a little fun in my life." Anna said seductively wrapping her arms around his neck and burying both her hands in his hair.
"You really like the red hair, don't ya?" Fred said cockily.
"Merlin help me, I really do." Anna said almost painfully, and kissed him.
…
George was pacing impatiently inside the flat when he suddenly heard Anna yelp, so he instinctively moved closer to the door to listen.
"Really, Fred?! Now?! George is waiting for you!" He heard Anna say, slightly annoyed.
"You said, 'whenever I want'...OY GEORGIE! GO TO THE BURROW! SAY HI TO CHARLIE!" Fred yelled.
"WHAT?!" George said, trying to open the door but finding it stuck by something.
"I need the place mate!" Fred yelled impatiently.
"George, could you give us an hour please?" Anna's voice said slightly strained.
"Better make it two Georgie." Fred said with a chuckle.
"Really milking that whole dying man thing, the git." George mumbled, cracked a smile, and disapparated with a pop.
