So this is only my 2nd story about Soda. I realized I haven't given him proper attention in my stories so I decided to write a story focusing on him. Hope you enjoy.
It was about 10 p.m. on a Friday night. Steve, Two-bit and Soda were sitting at a table at Buck's. Soda had been working extra shifts and hadn't had much time to go out. Steve finally convinced him to go to Buck's. Two-bit was pretty sauced, and Steve and Soda were a little buzzed.
It wasn't a regular night at Buck's. It was some sort of party so there was a live band playing. All of the sudden Two-bit got up and wobbled towards the band. He walked up to the singer and whispered something in his ear. The singer looked hesitant but nodded. Before Soda and Steve knew what was going on Two-bit grabbed the mike. The band started playing an Elvis song, and Two-bit started singing, sounding really drunk. Steve started laughing, everybody in the room was looking at Two -bit.
Soda felt bad for Two-bit so he walked up to him to take him back to the table. All of the sudden Two-bit tossed the mike at Soda – "Oh, you wanna try,"
"No thank you," Soda replied, but all eyes were on him, and all of the sudden people started clapping. Soda was put on the spot. The band started playing. Soda was a little buzzed too so he started singing "Wise men said only fools rush in," This was actually fun, he thought.
Soda looked at the crowd. Suddenly his gaze fell on the door, which opened and a girl walked in. Soda watched her order a drink, and then stand at the back of the room, sipping the drink and watching him sing. She seemed to be alone, which Soda found odd, he also noticed that she was very pretty. He could tell even in the dimmed lights. She had long, somewhat wavy auburn hair that she wore down and big bright gray eyes.
Soda was still sore after the whole mess with Sandy, but this girl struck him as beautiful. Before he knew what he was doing, and on the account of him being a little buzzed, he walked through the crowd mike in hand, still singing. When he reached her he stretched his hand with the mike for her to sing. She smiled and sang the next line of the song without missing a beat.
Soda noticed that she had a very nice smile, which produced dimples on her cheeks which looked super cute. Soda went back to the front of the room and gave the mike to one of the band members, and then made his way to the back of the room, where the girl was still standing, sipping her drink. Once again Soda thought it was odd that she was alone.
Soda hesitated a moment, but he never had problems with girls "you are not from around here, are you?" he smiled his signature smile.
She gave him a glance as if deciding if she should respond or not, "No, I am from Iowa." She finally said, finishing up her drink and putting the glass aside.
"May I ask what your name is?" Soda said trying to sound tuff.
She hesitated again - "Tiffany,"
"I am Sodapop," she gave him a shocked look. "My real name, I swear."
She smiled again, "And I thought my town was weird."
"What's a girl like you doing here all alone?" She chuckled, and Soda noticed the dimples again. "I was supposed to meet someone, but his flight got delayed so I'm just going to stay here for the night." Soda was thoughtful for a moment, boy but she was pretty. "Tell you what," Soda said trying to sound convincing but casual at the same time, "this is no place for a girl to stay alone. Why don't you stay at my place? I know I just met you, but we have an extra room. So you'll have privacy and you'll save some money." She was hesitant, but it was true Buck's didn't seem the place where a decent girl would stay at, especially alone. "I don't know…" she started.
"I am not some kind of creep taking advantage of you, promise. Do I look creepy to you?" Soda made a face, making his eyes cross-eyed and pulling both of his ears with his hands.
She laughed, "Alright, I guess it's ok."
"Oh, great, great" Soda grinned ear to ear, "let me introduce you to my friends."
They walked up to the table, where Two-bit and Steve were sitting.
"Hi guys, this is Tiffany. She's from outta town. She's going to stay at my place for the night." As Soda was saying this, he realized what it sounded like, and he cringed waiting for some sort of smart aleck remark from the guys.
"Damn," was all Two-bit said, "You sure have good eyesight, spotted this pretty thing." Steve said nothing, but winked at Soda. Soda blushed a little. He turned to Tiffany - "Please don't pay attention to these brutes, they are drunk." Tiffany giggled, "I'll try not to."
"Speaking of which," Two-bit said thoughtfully, "you are driving, you are the least sauced."
"Figures," Soda rolled his eyes, then he looked at Tiffany and added, "we should get going,"
"Oh, just one moment, let me get my luggage I put it in the room already."
"Let me help you with that." Soda hurried to say, and when Tiffany wasn't looking Steve made huge eyes at Soda. Soda gave him the finger, then he turned around quickly, and followed Tiffany upstairs.
Soda proceeded to get Tiffany's luggage, and went to the car. "We are gonna drop you drunk fools first," Soda announced.
"Hey, watch it," Steve scowled, and Two-bit laughed.
After dropping the guys they finally arrived at Curtis. Tiffany seemed really shy. Soda introduced her to his brothers, and led her to the room. "Good night," he said.
"Good night," she replied with a small smile.
Soda went back into the living room, where Darry gave him a puzzled look, and Pony was looking kind of curious too. "Well, that's new," Darry said, and Pony chuckled.
"Oh, it's not what you think," Soda started, but Darry raised his hands, "say no more, I don't want to know." "She's really pretty," Pony smiled at Soda. Soda smiled too. Of course he noticed Tiffany from the crowd and kind of liked her, but he didn't think much of it. He didn't know her. She was from Iowa, and she'd be leaving in a couple of weeks.
