ABOARD AAA WUNDER,WILLE

"Stop right there,Shinji!"

Misato,Captain of AAA Wunder sternly yelled at Shinji as he stood next to a NERV's Eva which opened it's hand and allowed him to climb on.

Ships around Wunder opened fired on the Eva and Shinji who was still disoriented since waking up from years of being absorbed in Eva 01.

They argued back and forth.

"I'm leaving,Misato-san!"

Misato raised the stick which had the switch to the bomb collar around Shinji's neck she had been holding in her hand so he could see clearly.

"Then you would be seen as a threat and eliminated."

Shinji scowled at her and stayed still for a moment before deciding to go with the NERV Eva.

"Don't do it!"

MIsato said with firmness but she could feel her voice falter.

It was of no use as Shinji climbed aboard and the Eva grew rockets from it's back and launched off.

Misato felt her hand shaking as the stick showed the bomb going out of range.

She now had to make a decision.

"Shinji can still trigger an Impact. Use it now!"

Misato saw him almost going out of range.

She looked at him one last time.

"Goodbye Shinji"

She pulled the trigger.

...

"Nooo!Shinji!"

Misato cried out as she woke up from her sleep and sat on the futon.

She breathed heavily with her hair disheveled and covered with cold sweat.

She slowly calmed down and looked around. She was in her room with lights out and it was almost 1 am.

She put her hand on her head.

"Another nightmare"

But it wasn't the same one about Second Impact she witnessed as a child.

This time it involved someone else. Someone very dear to her.

She got up from her futon,navigated her way to the door and entered the living room.

She slowly walked up to Shinji's door and slowly slid the door. She really felt the urge to check and see if he's all right.

He was sitting on his futon listening to his Cassette player and earpiece covering his ears..

She walked up to him quietly and gently hugged him.

Shinji was unaware of her presence and startled by Misato's sudden display of affection.

"M-Misato san!"

He soon began to feel comforted and Misato could feel his body relax.

They both enjoyed the peace and calm they were feeling right now,something they both sought for with different methods.

"It's all right Shinji. It's not your fault"

Shinji didn't know what she was referring to. An earlier Angel fight when he disobeyed orders?

But he didn't want to ask as he found the silence comforting.

You may not realise it Shinji but you mean the world to us...and to me.

Asuka who had woken up to drink a glass water walked her way from the kitchen back to her room when she noticed Shinji's door was open for some reason.

She took a peek and saw Misato and Shinji embracing each other and didn't even notice her presence.

Asuka shook her head and walked into her room.

"Those two are so shameless"

She muttered and laid on her futon to sleep.

"They should feel embarrassed"

Asuka said as she closed her eyes to sleep.

In actuality,she also wanted a hug from her guardian.

A/N : With Rebuild 3.0+1.0 delayed (again) I just felt like writing this fic. I disliked how Misato was portrayed in 3.0 (Asuka too) just to be edgy and wanted it to be wholesome. I also consider Misato and Shinji more as family along with Asuka and Pen pen. Good day.
