One day when Isabella was six and a half, she ran to Troy and Gabriella as they picked her up from school; she was holding a small ziplock bag and had a sticker. "Mommy, Daddy look, my tooth fell out." She said, proudly, showing the little gap in her smile where the tooth had once been.
Troy knelt down to her level. "Wow Angel, I guess we'll have to write a letter to the tooth fairy when we get home." The little girl nodded excitedly.
That night, they had gotten Isabella ready for bed and were sitting at the dining room table with the six-year-old between them, writing a letter to the tooth fairy. Gabriella looked down at her daughter and smiled. "What do you want it to say Baby Girl?" Isabella answered and along with the help of Troy and Gabriella, they wrote the letter together.
Dear Tooth Fairy,
My name is Isabella and I lost my tooth at school today. I have been a good girl brushing my teeth every morning and night. I've put the tooth under the pillow for you to collect.
Love Isabella.
The couple smiled down at their daughter as she grinned proudly at the letter she wrote. They took Isabella back into her room so they could tuck her in. Troy took the letter and placed it on the table in their daughter's room. "Ok Bella, how about we leave your letter here for the tooth fairy?" She nodded and they sat either side of her bed to tuck her in. "Ok sweet dreams Angel and sleep tight. The quicker you get to sleep, the quicker the tooth fairy will come and when you wake up in the morning, I think you'll find a dollar under your pillow." He smiled as the little girl giggled and cheered. "Ok Bella, I love you, sweet dreams." He said kissing the six-year-old on the forehead, before stepping away for Gabriella to have her moment with her daughter.
"Good night Daddy, love you."
Gabriella stroked Isabella's face in hopes to make the excited girl more sleepy and succeeded with the action. "Ok Sweet Girl, sleep time now. I love you so much Bella, sweet dreams."
"Good night Mommy. I love you."
Gabriella smiled and kissed her forehead before they left the room for Isabella to sleep.
After making sure that Isabella was asleep, Troy smiled as he watched Gabriella write a letter as the tooth fairy in response to Isabella. He read over her shoulder.
Dear Isabella,
Thank you for your lovely letter and your lovely tooth. I can see that you've been a good girl and brushing your teeth. You're becoming a big girl losing your first tooth and I'm sure I'll be back soon to collect more. In exchange for your tooth, I've left a surprise under your pillow.
Love the Tooth Fairy
"Is this ok?"
Troy chuckled to himself, wrapping his arms around her shoulders as he stood behind her and kissed the top of her head. "It's great Baby, Bella will love it. How about we put the letter and money in and head to bed? It's getting late."
They silently crept into Isabella's room and Troy placed the second letter next to the one they wrote with their daughter who was currently sound asleep. Gabriella carefully took the tooth from under the little girl's pillow without waking her and slipped the dollar in its place before they both quietly left the room.
As they laid in bed that night, Troy pulled Gabriella closer. "I never thought I'd enjoy doing it so much, but I could get used to doing this. Playing Santa and the tooth fairy and everything. Getting to see her face light up and how excited she gets is everything."
Gabriella smiled and kissed the skin of his chest where her head laid. "I know how you feel Baby. Doing this for Bella has always been one of my favourite things about being a mom and I'm glad that I get to share them with you now."
He kissed the top of her forehead as she yawned, making him smile. "Ok Brie, I think it's time we get some sleep. Sweet dreams and I love you."
"Good night Troy, I love you too."
