After Troy and Gabriella spent a bit more time with their three kids, they heard a quiet knock on the door, smiling as Maria poked her head through. "Sorry to ruin your family moment, but Lucille's getting impatient and I'm not gonna lie, I kinda am too so can we meet our grandson?" Maria asked, looking over to see Isabella holding onto her baby brother and smiled before looking at her daughter for a response; Gabriella nodded and Lucille burst through the door, pushing Maria aside, making the other woman roll her eyes.
"Give him here, I want to hold my grandson."
Troy narrowed his eyes. "Mom, you can wait and let Bella hold him first, she only just got him."
"She'll have plenty of time." Lucille dismissed before narrowing her eyes at Isabella, the girl moving to put Aidan in the older woman's arms.
Troy glared at Lucille as a result of her actions towards Isabella. "Mother, outside now, we need to talk." Lucille huffed but relented, following Troy out of the room.
Isabella turned to Maria. "Do you want to hold Aidan?"
"It's alright Sweetie, you can keep holding him, he's your brother after all."
She smiled. "Yeah, I'm sure I'll have plenty of time to hold him though, I'm already up and you may want to get a chance before Lucille comes in and hogs him."
Maria sighed, "you're probably right Belle." She said as she took the boy into her arms and kissed the girl's cheek before turning to her daughter. "Oh Mija, he's gorgeous." She smiled as she watched Isabella sit beside her mom and sister on the bed. "You've got the perfect little family now."
Gabriella smiled and kissed both her daughters' foreheads. "Yeah, I'm very lucky and very happy. I love my two beautiful girls and my handsome boys."
(Meanwhile with Troy)
As soon as the door was shut behind them, Troy turned to Lucille. "Why are you acting like this?"
"Acting like what? I'm excited to see my grandson."
Troy rolled his eyes. "Mom, do you know why you and Maria had to stay in the waiting room? It's because Maria had to keep you occupied so Isabella and Arabella would get a chance to meet and hold their brother before you took over everything. You all but barged in, pushing Maria and demanding that Isabella hands Aidan over to you, when she had only just started holding him."
"You can't blame me Troy, I finally have both a grandson and a granddaughter."
Troy glared at her. "You have a grandson and two granddaughters, Isabella is just as much my daughter as Arabella is." Lucille only scoffed in response, making Troy mad. "That's it. When I agreed to let you back in my life, you promised to try harder to accept Gabriella and Isabella. Now that Gabriella is the mother to my children, you have absolutely no issue with her and yet you still treat Isabella like crap." Troy calmed himself and sighed. "You are being unfair to a 12 year old girl who has no control over the situation she's in and yet you blame her for it. You know what she said to me when she came in? She remembers what happened when Ari was born and she said that she didn't understand why you acted so weird around her when you were so excited to meet Ari. Bella is only 12 and she's noticing that, and I know she felt even worse when you came in just now, demanding to hold Aidan."
"They are my grandkids."
"And you don't think they're gonna start noticing it soon? Ari absolutely adores Bella, she'd stay with her 24/7 if she could, she loves her so much and Bella loves her too. I saw the look in Bella's eyes and I just know that she's going to be the same with Aidan as she is with Ari, and I get the feeling that he's going to love her just as much. You can't treat them differently, they're our kids and you need to treat them all the same. If not, you won't get to see any of us anymore and that will be final."
"Troy you can't -"
"I can and I will. Either you treat BOTH my daughters and my son, as well as my wife with respect or else you lose all of us." When Lucille didn't respond, Troy sighed. "The saddest part in all of this is that you are treating a 12 year old this way and you won't even admit that it's wrong. You can come in and meet Aidan, but if your behaviour towards Bella doesn't change then it will be the last time you see us." He walked back inside with Lucille following behind him. He smiled as he watched Maria coo to Aidan and Gabriella sitting with their daughters, the youngest in her lap and the oldest leaning into her embrace. As Lucille went to Maria to hold Aidan, Troy stood beside his wife and daughters, wrapping an arm around Isabella's shoulder. "How are my three favourite girls."
Gabriella smiled. "We're good Wildcat, did everything go ok with your mom?"
"Yeah it should be alright, I just spoke to her about how she was acting and if she wanted to continue to see all of us, that she must treat all of the kids the same."
Isabella gasped. "I'm sorry Dad, I didn't mean -"
"Shh Baby Girl." He said hugging her properly before leaning down to her eye level. "I don't want you to apologise for anything, you did nothing wrong. If it was affecting you and making you sad, I'm glad you told me how you felt so I could talk to her. I want all of my girls and my little boy to be happy, ok?"
"Ok Dad... I love you, Mom, Ari and Aidan."
Gabriella smiled and kissed her temple. "We all love you too Baby Girl."
