At the game on Friday night, Arabella was sitting with her mom and dad, Isabella couldn't make it to the game. Gabriella smiled as she watched her daughter, the crush clear on her face as she watched Max play. Gabriella turned to her husband and leaned against him, she knew he was trying hard to appear calm and nonchalant about the situation but she knew deep down that the thought of his youngest daughter dating scared him. She leaned up and kissed his cheek, whispering. "She'll be fine Baby, we've known Max as long as she has and he seems like a good kid."
"I wanna believe that Brie, I really do but Aidan said -"
"I know what Aidan's said and I'm sure it's true but guys can be different with the girls they like, just look at our relationship. We basically shut out the world except for each other and Bella."
"Yeah I guess."
"She'll be fine Wildcat, she's a strong girl and we both know that she won't take any crap from anyone, you've just gotta trust her."
He nodded slowly. "Aren't you worried?"
"Of course I'm worried. She's my little girl, I'm always going to worry about her but I also know that I need to remember that she's 15 now and she's growing up. As much as I'm going to miss taking care of my little girl and protecting her, there are some things that are going to change and we have to accept that." She tipped his chin towards her. "You're a great Dad Baby – the best I could've asked for to father my kids – and you have been since you were 16. All of our kids love and adore you, even if they don't show it as much as they used to. As much as we don't want them to, they have to grow up."
Troy nodded and kissed her forehead. "I know, I just miss my little girls. I love you Brie and you are the best mother I could've imagined for my kids too."
Arabella looked over at her parents and smiled, their relationship had always been watched in awe by their children. When Gabriella met her eyes, she smiled and leant into her mother. Gabriella inwardly smiled and wrapped her arm around her daughter. Arabella leant her head on her mother's shoulder. "I love you Mama."
"I love you too Sweetheart, your dad and I love you very much." Arabella smiled and they turned their attention back to the game, the parents watching their son and Arabella watching her brother and soon to be boyfriend.
When the game finished and the wildcats won, the Bolton family were shocked to see a blonde girl run and hug Aidan, completely accepted by their son. Arabella smiled, realising who it was but Troy and Gabriella were clueless. They walked down to the court and stopped infront of Aidan and the girl, the latter blushed and pulled away but Aidan kept his arm around her. "Hey Mom, Dad, Ari. What did you think of the game?" He grinned.
Gabriella smiled. "You played well Bud, we're very proud of you." She looked over at the girl who looked familiar. "Who's your friend."
Aidan blushed. "Oh um Mom, Dad, this is Tessa, Tess, this is my mom, dad and well you know Ari. Mom, Dad, Tessa is my girlfriend."
Gabriella gasped. "Oh my gosh, Tessa, as in Tessa Matthews." When the 13-year-old nodded, Gabriella hugged her. "Wow, I haven't seen you since you were a little girl, you're beautiful Tessa."
Tessa blushed. "Thank you, it's nice to meet you Mrs Bolton."
Troy spoke up, directing his words to Aidan. "Bud, why didn't you tell us that you had a girlfriend?"
He shrugged. "Well we got together a bit before Max asked Ari out and by the time I wanted to tell you, everyone was focused on Ari and Max so I figured I'd wait."
Tessa gasped. "Oh Aidan, I'm sorry, I didn't realise -"
He kissed her cheek. "It's fine Tess, you did nothing wrong." She smiled and leant her head on his shoulder.
Gabriella smiled at her youngest and his girlfriend. "Well we're happy for you Bud, I guess you'll have to thank Bella one day." They both looked at her quizically. "She introduced you two in kindergarten when you were both too shy."
They both blushed, Aidan responding. "Yeah I guess I will, it's a shame she wasn't here tonight."
Troy nodded. "She'd be ecstatic for you both." He looked over and noticed Max coming towards them. "Alright, we'll let you two go, it's time for Ari's date I guess." He felt Gabriella's hand on his back and smiled slightly at her.
Max walked over to the Boltons and directed his speech to the parents. "Hi Mr and Mrs Bolton, I know we've met before but I guess I'll formally introduce myself, I'm Max and I'm here to take Ari out."
Troy nodded. "Where will you two be going?"
"I was just going to take her to get some sorbet and then I was going to bring her home."
"Alright then. Ari, have fun, your curfew is 10:00 so we'll see you then."
She smiled, hugging both her parents. "Thanks Mom, Dad. I love you."
"We love you too Sweetheart." As the teenagers walked away, Troy turned to Gabriella. "So I guess it's just us tonight Baby."
She smiled and reached for his hand, intertwining their fingers. "Yeah I guess it is. Maybe we could go on a date of our own?" Troy only nodded in response, kissing her cheek as they left the gym.
