It was now Isabella's wedding day and Gabriella, Arabella and the other bridesmaids were helping her get ready. Once that was done, they left the room to give the two sisters and their mother a few minutes alone together. Arabella hugged her sister. "You look stunning Bella."
"Thanks Ari, I love you Bubba."
"I love you too." Arabella looked over at her mom and saw the look on her face. "I'm going to give you two a few minutes, I'll make sure everyone's ready." Isabella nodded, mouthing 'thanks' to her younger sister.
Isabella turned to Gabriella. "Do I look pretty Mama?"
Gabriella got choked up as her daughter recited the words from her first day of school. "You look beautiful Baby Girl." She wiped the tears from her eyes. "I'm sorry. I'm so proud of you Bella, you've grown up so much and you've become an amazing young women. You're the best daughter I could've asked for, excluding your sister. I can't believe you're getting married today and I hope Will treats you the way your dad treats me. You deserve it, you deserve to be happy Sweet Girl... I just can't believe my little girl is all grown up now."
Isabella hugged her mother, feeling the tears in her own eyes. "Don't cry Mama, you're going to make me cry but I'm always gonna be your little girl. You've been the best mom all my life and I love you so much."
"I love you too Angel, so much."
They were interrupted by a knock on the door.
Troy walked towards the door to the room he knew his daughter was getting ready in; soon his oldest daughter would be married. His thoughts drifted back to the day William asked for Troy's blessing.
Isabella had been dating William for a few years and they were invited over to Troy and Gabriella's house for dinner. After being there for a few minutes, William asked Troy if they could talk and they walked outside away from the girls. "Troy, I'm just going to be straight with you here. I love Bella and I want to ask for your blessing to marry your daughter."
"Thank you for being straight forward." Troy exhaled. "Look Will, regardless of how old Bella is, she's always going to be my little girl and I'm always going to protect her. That being said, Bella has been so happy with you and I can tell that you love her. At the end of the day, my daughter's happiness and safety is what means most to me and I can tell that she is both of those things when she's with you so you have my blessing to marry my daughter."
William grinned. "Thank you so much Troy, I promise, I'm going to take care of her."
"I'm glad to hear, now when were you thinking of asking her?"
The younger man rubbed the back of his neck. "If it's not too forward, I was thinking of asking her tonight, I have the ring. Would that be ok?"
Troy shrugged. "I gave you my blessing, that gives you permission to ask her whenever you'd like."
They had just finished dinner and Troy could tell that William was going to propose to Isabella. He watched as the younger man stood from his place at the table. "Bella, this is something I've wanted to do for a long time." Isabella's audible gasp was heard as William got down on one knee. "Isabella Claire, I wanna be with you for the rest of my life so will you make me the happiest man on earth and be my wife. Will you marry me?"
Isabella nodded – with tears in her eyes – whispering. "Yes."
Troy smiled as William placed the ring on Isabella's finger. Gabriella had answered with the exact same response as Isabella did - emotions, actions and all; like mother like daughter. He looked over at his wife and saw the smile on her face before her eyes connected with his.
His thoughts were interrupted as he stopped at the door, he exhaled and knocked. He heard the faint 'come in' and entered, seeing his wife and oldest daughter. He came to a stop beside Isabella and kissed her cheek. "You look beautiful my Angel."
Isabella bit her lip. "Thanks Dad."
"I guess it's time for you to get married." And she did. That day Isabella became Mrs Isabella Gibson.
