Shadows in the woods

Nothing is as it seems, and once one choice is made, nothing will be the same...Silverpaw is just an ordinary apprentice. But,something is s disappear overnight. What is taking them. No cat knows. But one thing is certain, there are amber eyes prowling around. Just. Don't go out a night. Or you may never be seen again... Rated T for violence. Not to heavy, but, beware.

2. Prolouge

Prologue

Moonlight bathed the forest as shadows flickered along the undergrowth. Only the river broke the deathly silence.

Out of the shadows, two dark, lithe shapes ran through the forest. Behind them, a pair of amber eyes glowed as a huge shadow stalked through the undergrowth, following the other smaller cats.

The cats slowed down as they emerged from the forest. They had a brisk, faced pace walk, their eyes flicking back and forth, checking all the shadows as they came towards a mountain. The mouth of a cave came into view, and the cats walked in, it seemed to swallow them whole.

They walked down a tunnel until they came to a cave. A waterfall poured down into a pool as the two cats came to it. They saw four other cats.

"Finally, you have arrived.'' rasped a voice from an old grey tabby.

''Yes, we thought StarClan themselves had struck you down!'' Chimed in a voice from a younger cat.

''Well, we are here now, so StarClan has not struck us down then, Heatherfall.'' Mewed the newcomer.

''Are we going to wait here all night Bramblefire? Or are we going to start?'' mewed the old She-Cat.

''Yes, Volestorm. Come Leafpaw.'' Mewed the ginger tabby tom to his braken coloured apprentice.

"I, Volestorm, medicine cat of YarrowClan, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down on this apprentice. She has tried hard to understand your mysterious ways and the ways of the herb. I commend her a full medicine cat in that turn. And I hope she will serve her Clan in many moons to come. Rosepaw, your new name, in the presence of StarClan will be, Rosewater, in honour of your resilience and ability to adapt.''

The other cats went to congratulate the new medicine cat and then all layed there noses on the water and in a heartbeat, they were all still, plunged into the darkness of sleep.

Bramblefire walked around the territory, suddenly, all around him disappeared and he came face to face with a Calico She-Cat.

''Hello Bramblefire."

"Fireflower.'' He said as he looked at his old mentor. ''Can you tell us, what is happening in our Clan? Cats are going missing and there are eyes following us at night.''

"No, I cannot. But I can tell you something.

Nothing is as it seems, after one choice is made, nothing will be the same.''

Suddenly, he was plunged into darkness, and woke up back in the StarCave next to the Moon Falls.
