Silverpaw padded into the medicine cats den. She was going to get moss for all the other apprentices whilst they were all out doing fun stuff.
''Leafpaw? Bramblefire?'' She called out into the hollow bolder that was the medicine cat den. She walked in even further. She then saw Bramblefire, the medicine cat, sorting out herbs, muttering something underneath his breath.
''Choices...''He breathed a few hard, shallow breaths. ''They... They'll be made...''He breathed hard again, almjost as if he had been running. ''Choices... Choices... Whos choices...'' His ears and tail twitched as he heard Silvferpaw walk in. He seemed to be out of whatever trance he was in. ''Oh, yes. Hello Silverpaw. What is it youi need? I am terribly busy.''
''i just need some moss, thanks.'' She murmered, looking offset by the cats strange mutterings. Bramblefire dashed off into the shadows of the den and emerged with a big wad of moss in his mouth.
''Here. Now go. I am.'' His voice trailed off. ''Terribly busy...''
Silverpaw purred as all the nests in the apprentice den were new, lined with a few feathers and flowers. She always decorated her nest, it made it feel more cosy and warm. She streched her limbs as she saw she had some left over. Silverpaw purred and took it to the nursery. She creeped in and saw Dappledfur.
''Hello Dappledfur. Can I play with the kits?'' She asked, looking at all the tumbling balls of fur.
''Of course, of course. They do need a bit of exersice.'' She mewed tiredly.
''Come on everyone! Lets play moss ball!'' she yowled and all the kits followed.
Once they got into the clearing, she passed sat down and passed the ball to them. Antkit leaped for the ball, passing it to Foxkit. He passed it back but Violetkit grabbed it and passed it to Silverpaw. She passed it back to Voiletkit, she then ran off with it and batted it onto Silverpaws tail. Before she could get up, the three kits tumbled onto her, a giggiling and laughing mess.
''You three.'' She whispered and all the kits came up to her muzzle. ''I have one last surprise for you.'' she bemnt down and gave them a ride around camp, then, taking them into a hole in the wall where the elders den layed.
''I have some kits who would like a story.'' She announced to the elders, as she settled them down on a patch of grass.
''Well, shall we all tell a story?' Asked Swiftbite.
''But, that is much to scary!'' Gasped Rabbitleap.
''Please!'' Said the three kits in unison.
''Oh, all right.'' Mewed Rabbitleap. ''This is the story about the great Clans of this forest.
TigerClan
PantherClan
And PumaClan.
These Clans are what give us our best traits.''
''Thank TigerClan Of Pine And Fire That Gave Us Our Strength And Fierceness OF Fire
Thank JaguarClan of Moors And Wind Who Gave Us Our Fleeet Of Foot And Ability To Hear
And Thank CougarClan Of Mountain And Marsh Who Gave Us Our Steath And Ability to Hunt.'' Choired all the elders. The three kits just stood there, eyes wide, mouthes open.
''What did they look like?'' Asked Violetkit.
''Well,'' Said Swiftbite ''Tigerclan were orange with white muzzles, paws, underbellys and tail tips. They had black stripe\s running down their whole body and fiery amber eyes.''
''Jaguarclan were a yellow with a white underbelly, paws, and muzzle, they had spots and patches all down their body.'' Mewed Rabbitleap, looking pleased with herself.
''And last, CougarClan. They were a pale dusty sand colour with black markings, that looked like claws, either sides of their muzzles. Their muzzle, underbelly and paws were white.'' Mewed Hawkeye.
''It is getting late now, we will tell you more tomorrow, announced Swiftbite. The kits let out groans of anger and sadness. ''Now, the sooner you get to sleep, the sonner dawn will come and then we can tell you.''
The kits raced off, Silverpaw nodded her thanks, and followed them to the nursery, said a brisk good-night to Dappledfur, and got some prey for the elders. She dropped a fat rabbit infront of them.
''Here you go! Thanks for the story, I found it just as entertaining as the kits!'' She purred.
''Thank you for the rabbit, this will be more than enought repayment.'' Mewed Swiftbite inbetween gulps. She left them to their meal, grabbed a mouse for herself, and ate it as she watched Frostpaw enter the camp. She was happily chatting to Greypaw. she tried to shout a 'hi' to them, but Greypaw shot her a warning glance. Frostpaw giggled a few times as they entered the apprentice den together, Greypaw shoving Silverpaw aside. She padded inside and saw the two next to eachother.
What was happening? What was Frostpaw doing with that arrogant tom? They are just friends, she told herself, nothing to worry about. She moved her nest to a far corner of the den and slept, the days events tireing her out. that night, she had dreamed she was in the great Clans.
