And thanks for reaching the start of the plot! Love ya! Have a good day/night/apocalypse! (Also, if any of you recognise that phrase 'the story of tonight' you get a free virtual cookie and cheese! And if you can spot any more easter eggs!)
''And that was the story of tonight!'' Silverpaw mewed as she finished off her story. It was the story of how she met Cloverpaw and Snowpaw. her sister burt out laughing.
''Well, you've got yourself some interesting friends!''
''At least i have them!'' She growled and tackled her sister to the ground. Frostpaw batted Silverpaw's stomach with her hind paws and pinned her down. thw two wrestled 'till twilight. Then, they stopped and groomed each others ruffled, dusty fur. A cool breeze swept through the camp, reminding Silverpaw that leaf-bare wasx well on its way. She shivered and she and Frostpaw snuggled up together in the apprentices den, their gentle heartbeats slowly putting them into a deep sleep.
Silverpaw padded along merrily, smelling all the wonderfull forest smells as she and a few others did the morning border patrol along the MarrowClan border. The day was going perfectly! Greypaw was stuck on elder duty and Frostpaw and her would do some battle training just before sun-high. but when they got closer and closer to Thunder-Trees, a group of burnt trees plentifull with prey, she smelt the thick, smell of MarrowClan that made her nose wrinkle. She saw them hunting at Thunder-Trees, they were rightfully Marshclans! Her patrol waited in the bushes until the deputy, who was also her mentor since Ravenstalk was too unwell, gave the signal.
With a yowl, Marshclan cats launched themselves into battle. In an instant, Silverpaw came face-to-face with Cloverpaw. She jumped ontop of her, pinning her down on her back and swiping at her face.
"As the two cats wrestled, Silverpaw whisered, ''Meet me here tommorrow, just before sunhigh.''
Cloverpaw nodded then they continued their wrestling, Cloverpaw had made no attempts to get up and Silverpaw was going to release her in a second, when a big brown mass slammed into her.
''Run Cloverpaw!'' He yowled, his yellow-green eyes burned with rage and the heat of battle. The two tussled, until, with one might swipe of his paw, swiped down her upper right fore-leg and blood started to trickle out. He then picked Silverpaw up by the scruff and threw her onto her side of the border. Silverpaw staggered up, but fell down, all she could do was watch. The tom that had threw her was now in a fight with the deputy, Windflight. The MarrowClan tom that Windflight was fighting with had fur was a blur of darck brown and black. Just then, he pinned Cloverpaw down and stared to claw her.
'Windflight!'' Silverpaw yowled, causing the deputy to get off Cloverrpaw. He rushed over to Silverpaw, she then saw a cut on his neck, bleeding heavily.
''MarshClan, retreat!'' Yowled the great deputy, at once, all the warriors rushed towards him, and they all limped back home.
When they arrived in the clearing, Silverpaws wound had made a trail of blood and was getting worse, she limped to the medicine cat den where Bramblefire was waiting. She was begining to feel light-headed and the world seemed to be spinning. '
'That was a stupid choice, we could have not fought...'' Silverpaw muttered.
Bramblefire looked into Silverpaws eyes.
''All choices have consequences. All matter...Choices...One choice... Never be the same...'' He whispered the last part so it was barely audible. silverpaws world began to spin as the world turned into blackness.
Silverpaw woke up to see Frostpaw next to her. Silverpaw let out a groan and looked around. Frostpaw shot up in an instant.
''You're awake! Good. I was worried you had gone to join StarClan.'' She let out a sigh of relief. ''You are going to have to stay in camp for a few days.''
Silverpaw motioned for her to come closer and whispered, ''Go hunt near Thunder-Trees, and if you see a black cat and a tabby one, tell them I will see them three days from now. I promise.''
''Well, how about i tell you of the friendship of three leaders?'' Asked Hawkeye. ''About Duskstar, Windstar and Foxstar''
Silverpaw layed in the elders den, enjoying her day off. It was the second day of having her injury and it was to tempting to run and jump, but she would just harm herself more.
''The three cats are such good friends and their personalities balance each-other out perfectly!
Duskstar is patient and always waits for an opportunity to strike, whereas Foxstar always takes and he takes whenever there is a small opportunity. He raises the stakes and jumps into things without thinking-though is more sensible now he is leader. And Windstar, he is kind, quiet, and keeps hings calm between the leaders.''
'''Though it does them more harm than good sometimes!'' Mewed Rabbitleap. ''Foxstar has lost three lives from jumping into things headfirst.'' silverpaw remembered when Foxstar had attacked a badger, when they, MarshClan had wit beaten already. She should know, she was there It was horrifying, watching as the nobel leader was writhing in its great jaws. tHen watching him go still.
''They all met at a Gathering, and instantly clicked. They always got alongf, even as leaders. When one had been fought by another, they always apologized, though always with a bit of
''Thanks for the story.'' she mewed as she padded to the Medicine Cat's den to see Leafpaw. But when she entered the hold in the wall, no cat was there. He must be out gathering herbs, she thought, he'll be back soon. She yawned and went to see Frostpaw, though she was nowere to be seen. Must be out training. She thought., shrugging it off and going to the Medicine Cats den.
She groomed herself as Leafpaw entered the den.
''How is the scratch?'' He asked.
''I can walk. but not run.'' Silverpaw replied.
''I would say tomorrow you can walk in the forest, near camp, but no training for another day.''
''Thanks.'' Silverpaw mewed, happy that she will be able to go out soon and see her friends.
Silverpaw streched the sleep out of her limbs, ready to get out of camp. She padded towards the exit slope. Suddelnly, a growl sounded from behind her.
''Silverpaw, what are you doing?'' silverpaw spun round to see Duskstar.
''Just going for a walk.'' She responded, trying to sound as normal as possible. She was not going to say she was going to see her friends, especially in MarrowClan.
''You are still injured. You cannot leave. Anyway, its almost sun-high.''
Silverpaw could not believe what he was saying. It was not night yet and she was cleared by Leafpaw. Leafpaw! Exactly! ''Duskstar, I was clared by Leafpaw. I can go get him if you want.''
Silverpaw went to the medicine cats den but it was empty. Come on! she thought He cant be collecting herbs! He already done that yesterday!
''Well, he is not here. So you must stay in camp.'' the leader growled, walking off. Silverpaw sighed and went to find Frostpaw-but she was not in the apprentices den either. Hang on, Frostpaw came back to camp yesterday the same time as Leafpaw. She was gone when Leafpaw was gone as well. Silverpaws brain was thinking of every possible solution, until she came to a horrible realisation. She always knew Frostpaw had a crush on Leafpaw, but did he know?
Silverpaw needed to get out of camp as soon as possible. She couldn't sneek out. Bramblefire! He was the answer,. Silverpaw ran to the nursery where he was giving the kits a check-up. She hissed at him and he came out.
''Can i leave the camp?'' She asked.
''Yes. Of course.''
''Then can you go tell Duskstar?'' Silverpaw pleaded.
''Alright, alright. I'll go.''
The tabby padded off to see Duskstar, then came back. ''Duskstar said you can go, but come back before sun-high.''
''Alright!'' she was going to burst from joy. ''Thanks!'' She scrabbled up the exit slope and through the forest, a cool breeze ruffled her fur, but she did not mind, she would bee seeing her friends shortly, everything would be alright. But when Silverpaw arrived at Thunder-Trees, her friends were not there. She walked along the border twice, still no sign of them. It was almost sun-high. Nothing. Her tail drooped and ears flattened. She truged back home, feeling betrayed by her friends. Suddelny, she caught scent of her sister, she followed it until she found a small clearing, and in it, were Frostpaw and Leafpaw, snuggling. She felt as if the whole world had came crashing down. The whole world bacame black, exept for those two and her. Part of her wanted to leap at them, sinking her teeth into their necks for being a disgrace to the warrior code and everything that held the clans together. And another part wanted to flee, but her paws were tied to the ground. She lep out a gasp and ran, but before she could get the chance to get back to camp, Frostpaw pounced on her. Reaslising whop it was, her sister stepped off of Silverpaw.
''Silverpaw. what are you doing here?'' Frostpaw asked.
''What were you doing with Leafpaw?'' Silverpaw retaliated.
''Just spending time with my friend!'' Frostpaw growled.
''Really? I thought you were more than friends?''
''Well, what if we are?'' Snapped Frostpaw.
''Its against the warrior code and medicine cat code!''
''What do I care! I love him Silverpaw. You wouldn't know what it means to love a cat.''
''But you have Greypa-'' Silverpaw shut her mouth. Of course she didn't want her sister to be mates with that arrogant ball of fur, but she didn't want her sister to be mates with Leafpaw.
''Wow! I thought you hated you are saying I should be with him? You are so messed up Silverpaw. Its only because I am not following this STUPID code. I just dont want to break Greypaw's heart. If i cant have him. I will never be satisfied. But it seems like you don't care.'' Frostpaw hissed.
Silverpaw was speachless. She was filled with emotion and sorrow. She couldn't come to apologize. Instead, she ran to the camp. It was just gone sunhigh, but she didn't care. As she entered camp, Silverpaw found a small round hole in the rocky wall of the camp and hid inside, it was just big enough for two cats, and she could have a nest inside. She came out and grabbed a piece of prey and moss from the calling willow and arranged her new den. Frostpaw and Leafpaw arrived and steeled down in a corner of camp. The sight of them made Silverpaw sick, so she went to sleep,, longing for her sister's fur to warm her, as she fell into a dark dreamless sleep.
