Chapter 2 The first step towards peace

UnknownRandom: Thank you, I hope not to disappoint you with this chapter; I like this paring a lot, Bell x Lefia is my 3rd favorite paring from the show, after it, second place, comes at tie Bell X Ais and Bell X Ryu and on first place is Bell X Artemis. I will try to update the story as soon as I can, but if the story gets a lot of fav, reviews and readers it helps me write more and faster, it motivates me, sort of saying.

Let's start

After leaving the guild, Bell and Lefiya walked for a while, as they reached Bell's home, the Folkvangr manor, Freya's family home; the guards greeted them.

"Hi! It's the goddess's home?" asked Bell.

"Yes Bell, she is in her office with the captain and the vice-captain" responded one of the guards.

"We will go to see the goddess, miss Lefiya here needs to talk to her" said Bell with a polite attitude towards the guards.

"Of course, go in" said the other guard as they let Bell and Lefiya enter the manor.

As they reached the office, Bell knocked two times and said "Freya-sama, is me, Bell, can I enter?"

"Of course little one" said Freya happily!

Bell opened the door "After you, miss" said the young hero.

"Thank you" said Lefiya as she tried to smile, despite all that was happening to her, she felt that smiling to the boy who helped her reach the goddess was the right thing to do.

Freya was sitting on the char in her office and at her right was Ottar and on her left was Allen.

"Hi, Bell-chan, I see that you brought someone with you; is there something that you may need?" asked Freya, as she was in love with Bell and she wasn't very happy that he brought a young beautiful blond elf girl with blue eyes.

"Yes, Freya-sama, Lefiya here needs your help with something" said Bell with a smile.

Freya smiled and thought if she would help with this she can get closer to Bell and her objective to make him her husband.

"If I can help of course I will" said Freya.

"My name is Lefiya Viridis and I am/I was the princes of Mithya" said Lefiya as she wasn't sure if she can continue.

"You can continue, everyone here is of my supreme trust and they will not tell anything to anybody if not need to be told" said Freya as she knew this would be a long discussion.

"As you may know, Derek the prince of dark elfs has started a war with the world in order to satisfy his thirst for blood and power" said Lefiya as her hands started to tremble.

Bell, seeing this, put his hand over hers and said "I know it is hard, but not all is lost, there is still hope" hearing his words, she took a deep breath and continued.

"We need to stop him, that's why I need your help" said Lefiya

"I think we can defeat him with the help all these adventurers from Ontario, so you came in the right place" said Allen with confidence and pride.

'Just what I need, another one that thinks his power can do anything, just like Derek' thought Lefiya as she didn't like Allen's attitude as she thought this would only result in his death.

"You don't understand, he can't be defeated with normal or magic weapons, he has a legendary sword that gives him almost infinite power and he is almost immortal thanks to the sword" said Lefiya; as she said this things, Freya had a revelation.

"So it is true, after all he has the sword of Zaramoth" said Freya as she knew how powerful this sword was,

"Yes, after our arranged marriage was announced, he went to get the sword and instead of my wedding I had to…. I had to see all that I love: m….my parents, my friends dying" she said as she started to cry.

As Bell saw this, he knew he had to do something and hugged her, letting her cry on his shoulder.

"*sniff* I have nothing left *sniff* I lost everything *sniff* my friends *sniff* my country and my city is in flames *sniff* I couldn't bury my parents because he took them as trophies *sniff*" said Lefiya as she continued to cry in Bell's arms.

'I don't know who this Derek is, but I hate him for all the innocents he killed, but more for what he made Lefiya go through; after all of this, I just want to protect her and make smile….. huh… What was that? I am in love with Ryu-chan, but what I am falling for Lefiya now…. now is not the time for that Bell, you have to put your fellings in order later, now Lefiya needs your help.

"I am so sorry for everything you went through, you deserve better and I hope, no, I know that somehow this will pass and things will get better for you, so don't give up, keep going, please" said Bell as he tried to give the young elf some hope.

Freya wasn't very happy, but she didn't say or do anything.

After a few minutes of crying

'Even if he only knows me for a few minutes, he is trying to give me hope, even in my darkest days, I need to thank him' thought Lefiya as she was impressed by Bell's kindness (AN: pun intended, if you know what I mean)

"Thank you" she said more like a whisper as she tried to compose herself.

"It was nothing" he said as they broke up the hug.

"Only the shield of Azunai can stop the sword of Zaramoth" said Lefiya as she remembered the old prophecy.

"But when the sword first met the shield, the sword won the battle, shattering the shield in 4 pieces" said Freya making Bell worry and wonder how they can make the shield better.

"How so, goddess?" asked Bell.

"When Zaramoth encountered Azunai on the battlefield 10000 years ago, his sword defeated the shield, but not only that, all the men on that battlefield from both sides, with the exception of Zaramoth, died a horrible death, but their souls remained forever bound to the earth, wondering and suffering eternally; as for all those killed by this sword, they will become wondering ghosts; anyway, that place is now called the plain of tears because of what happened there a long time ago; even now the souls of the warriors are there" said Freya as she knew and felt what happened at the battlefield where two great warriors and armies ever fought.

"Oh no, my parents and my friends are suffering right now" said Lwfiya as tears were starting to fall again.

Bell looked at Freya and the two officials as they nodded he took Lefiya's hand in his, causing her blue eyes to look into his red eyes.

"Lefiya, we will save them, I promise, all of them, we will free the dead and save the living" said Bell as Freya was proud of her child/love interest.

"Bell, right" said Ottar with a conviction.

"Yes, child, if we destroy the sword, all those killed by it will find peace in the afterlife" said Freya giving Lefiya the hope she needed.

"Thank you, I feel sad, but relieved knowing that we can do something for them" said Lefiya as she knew what to do.

"Lefiya, do you know what happened with the 4 shield parts?" asked Bell

"Yes, they were stolen by the 4 demon lords of the 4 elements and they guard them because they are afraid that the shield can defeat even the great demon lord Azarth" said Lefiya.

"So you came here to ask us to form a party and get the parts and reform the shield" said Ottar.

"Yes and no" said Lefiya as she was hopping for help.

"Huh?" said Freya with a stoned face.

"We need to upgrade the shield and to do that we need a fifth part that was supposeds to be in the original shield and with this the shield will surpass the sword" said Lefiya as everybody was astonished by what she said.

"How do we upgrade the shield before we get the parts of the shield?" asked Allan.

"We need to get The Tear of Souls from the ancient temple of the Pure Souls, that's why I came here to ask you, Freya-sama, to help me find a pure soul, will you help me find a pure soul?" asked Lefiya with hope.

"No" said Freya with a smile.

"But, Freya-sama, you said you would help her" said Bell.

"Even I can't help her find someone that she has already found" said Freya to Bell, confusing the young white haired boy, but Lefiya understood.

"So, Bell-san is the one that I seek, the pure soul" said Lefiya shocking Bell.

"Yes, Bell's soul is pure….. No, is the purest that I have ever saw" said Freya "I will help you gather a party from the 5 temples" continued the goddess, surprising Bell and the others.

Lefiya looked Bell in the eyes and said

"Bell, I know we just met, but will you please help me with this mission, will you become the shield bearer?" asked Lefiya as she hoped he would help her.

Before Bell could answer, Freya said "What do you mean by that?"

"If the shield is upgraded with The Tear of Souls, only the one that took it from the temple can use the new upgraded shield" said Lefiya.

"Well, Bell what do you say, are you ready to be the hero of Lefiya and the entire world?" said Freya with a smirk.

"I don't know about being a hero and all, but I want to help, so I will try to help Lefiya and everybody that I can" said Bell with smile.

"Good, I will talk with the other gods about forming a strong party, but is not going to be too big" said Freya "Bell, you should show Lefiya to one of our guest rooms" continued Freya.

"Thank you" said Lefiya as she and Bell exited the office.

"Thank you Bell for this, I don't know how, but I will reward you" said Lefiya as they reached the common room.

"No problem, I don't need a reward, I do this because is the right thing to do and the guest room is on the 3rd floor, let's go" said Bell as he pointed at the stairs that were in the common room.

"Ok, after you" said Lefiya as they reached the 3rd floor in a few moments later.

"Here, this will be you room" said Bell as he opened the guest room at the 3rd floor.

"Thanks, but I don't know how much I will stay here, after all, we will start the journey soon" said Lefiya as she looked at the room.

"I guess you are right, but we… but you still need to rest and we need to be sure we have enough power to do all 5 temples as fast as we can and of course as well and as safe as we can; we don't want more victims than already are" said Bell as he tried to make an overall analyze of the situation and a good plan.

"You are right and, by the way, where is your room? I guess you live here and, well, in case I need your help" said Lefiya trying to make sure he didn't have a bad opinion about her.

"My room is the 2nd room of the first floor; the name Bell is written on the door" said Bell with a smile

"And the goddess?" asked Lefiya.

"The first on the same floor as mine" said Bell "You have baggage at the guild or at the inn?" asked the boy trying to help his new friend.

"At the inn, but I don't know how to get there from here" said Lefiya as she was embarrassed from the situation.

"No problem, I will be your guide for the time we'll be on this mission" said Bell.

"Ok, thank you, let's go" responded Lefiya.

After this Bell and Lefiya were in a route to the inn, but they were interrupted by a growling sound,

"Looks like you are hungry" said Bell with a smirk.

Lefiya didn't respond just look at the ground.

"We can go at hostess, it is nearby and the food is good" said Bell as he was hungry as well after killing monsters a few hours earlier.

Lefiya remained quite again.

"Lefiya-san, what is wrong?" asked Bell with concern in his voice.

"Um, I don't have any valls left, I spend the last at the inn" said Lefiya as she rubbed her index fingers together; she was very embarrassed because she, an elf princess, was with no money and she didn't know what to do.

"Don't worry, I will pay for both and I will help you make some valls tomorrow if you need, ok?" said Bell

"Ok" whispered Lefiya

"Let's go eat" said Bell and Lefiya nodded as they went to the Hostess of Fertility.
