Chapter 4: The Temple of Pure Souls

Before we start, I will answer the review

dzimgo: I agree with you, I like both parings, this will be Bell x Lefiya with a few hints of Bell x Ryu, maybe in my next story I will make a Bell x Ryu. Who knows, only time can tell.

Let's start

After Bell and Lefiya finished eating, they went to the inn, got her belongings, and, after putting her stuff in her new room at the manor, Bell and Lefiya went to the garden outside the manor to start the trial.

"Bell-san, are you sure you want this?" asked Lefiya, as she was ready to open the gate to the temple.

"Yes, Lefiya-san, I am sure. What kind of trials will be? Did you hear anything? Or do you know anything about them?" Bell replied to Lefiya as he was ready for anything, but wanted to know what kind of trials he was going to face.

"From what I know, it will not be a fight, more a series of tests to your soul in order for the ancestor to judge your soul and character" said Lefia, as she told him all that she remembered from her parents' teaching about this temple.

"So, in other words, be careful, got it" said Bell with confidence.

"Yes" said Lefiya "I will open the gate, be ready to enter, once is open, it will close in a minute or two and it can't be opened again for a week" continued Lefiya as she held the key to the temple in her right hand.

"Ok, once you open it, I will enter, don't worry, I am ready" said Bell as he was ready for the trial that could have cost him his life.

"Here I go" said Lefiya as she took a deep breath and then said "Aicent spirits of the forest, your humble servant asks you to open the gate to The Temple of Pure Souls" as she finished this, the key flew out of her hand and after that a powerful blue light and a blue gate appeared in front of Lefiya.

The moment Bell saw the gate opening, he entered without a second thought.

'Good luck, Bell-san, may the fate grant you the power to be my hero and the world's hero as well' thought Lefiya, as she saw the gate vanishing and all she could do then was hope for Bell's safe return.

With Bell

As he entered the gate, he arrived to a room surrounded by 9 statues of what it looked to be high mage elfs.

"Hello, I am here for the Trail of Soul" said Bell and, as he said that, a spirit appeared over the statues and Bell watched the spirit, who looked like an angel, with blue wings and his face and body were covered by a white coat.

'As Lefiya-san said, no monsters or fight so far, i hope I can pass the test he is going to give me and I will pass because I don't want to disappoint my friends, my famillia, my goddess and Lefiya-san, who has chosen me to be her hero and a hero always helps the one in need, a hero does not let them down. Right, grandfather?' thought Bell as he remembered why he was here and what was his motivation to pass the trial.

"Well, come young one, I am the spirit guardian of this temple and the one who will give you the trial for, but first, I may ask, what will you do with The Tear of Souls if you get it?" asked the spirit.

"I want to save the world from the endless war that Derek has started" said Bell with courage.

"You want to stop the Dark king of pain and suffering? How interesting, but how do you intend to stop the Dark sword?" asked the spirit once again.

"We: me, Lefiya-san and our friends, we will try to reforge the shield of Azunai with The Tear of Souls as a chatalist" said Bell as he didn't realize that he named Lefiya as his friend though he hoped she considered him her friend, at least.

"Interesting plan, it will work if you can gather all 4 shards of the shield and The Tear of Souls, but are you up for the job, young Bell?" asked the spirit.

"I will do everything to protect my loved ones and the innocents" said Bell as he explained his convictions to the spirit,

"Definitely you have a good chance, but I must warn you, only 10% of the candidates have passed the first trial, as for the 9th, only 2 have reached it, but none passed it" said the spirit, as he informed Bell of the past heroes that tried to conquer the temple, but none has succeeded "Knowing that, do you still want to try this trial? This is your last chance to back down, if you start this, you must go all 9 trials if you want to get The Tear of Souls and if you want to survive" finished the guardian of the Temple of Souls.

'Humm, no one passed, that is not good, but if I don't do this, the entire world will burn under Derek's thirst for war and destruction, I need to save all the innocents that I can from Derek's path and also everyone that I care about. I can't let Ryu-chan die here or my goddess, I need to do this trial and win it, maybe after this Ryu-chan will notice me. Not bad, Bell, you are doing this to help everyone, not to get the girl you love to notice you' thought Bell, as he was ready to give his answer to the spirit.

"I will do it, I want to see everyone safe and also I want to see Lefiya-san's real smile" said Bell with conviction 'why I did say that about Lefiya-san's smile, what is going on here?!' thought Bell as Lefiya's image invaded his mind all of a sudden.

"Very well Mr. Bell, the trial starts now. Good luck" said the spirit as the eyes of the First statue glowed and a blue light surrounded Bell's body.

With Lefiya

'I don't know why, but I think you can do this, Bell, there is something about you that gives me hope that someday I will be able to smile again. I know it will be a long journey ahead of us, but I think you and I can save the world and, after that, who knows what fate has in store for me and for you. Please, be safe Bell' thought Lefiya at the same time as Bell's trial started.

Back with Bell

'Good luck, young Bell, because part of the trail was your not remembering being in a trail, in order to make it harder, that was what the one who designed the trail explained to me when he named me guardian of this temple' thought the spirit guardian of The Temple of Pure Souls as he watched what happened during Bell's first trail 'Also, everything will happen inside your mind, young hero'

As the trial stated, Bell's body was still surrounded by the blue light, only his mind was awake inside of the trials' magical world.

Bell woke up in a big room and he had no idea what was going on, as he was still half-asleep, someone called him.

"Your Majesty, are you ok?" said a blonde girl, wearing a maid uniform as she bowed to him.

'Your Majesty… is she addressing to me? What the hell is going on? When did I become king and where am I?' Bell asked himself, as he looked around, he was on a throne, surrounded by women, on his right was Freya and Ais, on his left was Ryu and Lefiya, all dressed very summary. Around the throne room were even more women, some he didn't even knew 'what the hell happened to me and how I got in this position' were the thoughts on his mind in that moment.

The entire throne room was covered in gold with various chairs in front of the throne that formed some kind of corridor.

"I am fine, just a bad dream, nothing to worry about it" said Bell with a smile.

"That is good to hear, the world will be a bad place without the world conqueror and peace bringer, as well the emperor of all that lives and breathes" said the maid with a smile.

'I am the world emperor? That can't be right, this must be a bad dream or a nightmare, I will never become a king or an emperor, I only want to be a hero and find someone to love and be loved by, as we can raise a nice and loving family, but for now, I must find what is going on here' thought Bell as he wasn't sure if it was a dream or some sort of twisted reality.

"Oh well, that aside, do you need anything?" said Bell as he watched the young maid waiting to say something, but waiting for his permission to ask.

"I came to tell your majesty that dinner is ready, also the bath is prepared, but if your majesty wants to have some fun with your wife or concubines…" said the maid with a seductive look on her face.

'I have a wife and concubines, I wonder who she and they are, but for now, I think I will take the bath rather than dinner' thought Bell as he looked around to find the answer, but he only got more questions.

"I will take the bath first, then dinner" said Bell with a smile "Lead the way to the bath" continued Bell.

"This way, your majesty" said the maid as she guided Bell towards the royal bath.

As Bell was about to enter the bath, the maid asked him "Do your majesty need any help with the bath or do you want me to go with your majesty?

"That won't be needed, I can manage it, don't worry" said Bell with a smile.

"Of course, how your majesty wishes" said the maid as she watched Bell entering the bath.

Time skip, after Bell fished the bath.

"Your majesty" said the maid as she watched Bell exiting the bath.

'If this isn't a dream, which I am almost certain it isn't, than what is it? The only thing I can think of is a powerful mage changing the world to his liking. I heard it is possible from what grandfather told me, but why a mage would make me the emperor of the world? That makes no sense, but I have to figure out what is going on at dinner, maybe she can help me' thought Bell as he approached the maid from before.

"You can speak" said Bell as he realized from before that she wouldn't speak to him until he asked her to.

"Dinner is ready and everyone is waiting at the dinner table for your majesty to arrive in order for the food to be served and the dinner to begin" said the maid with a smile.

'Maybe this dinner will help me figure out what the hell is going on here' thought Bell.

"Ok, let's go to dinner, lead the way" said Bell with a smile.

"As your majesty commands" said the maid as she led him to dining room.

As they reached the dining room, everything was covered in gold and silver and in the middle of the room was a big table where Ais, Tione, Tiona and Riviera were standing on the left side, as for the right side there were Freya, Syr, Ryu and Lefiya, but what surprised Bell the most was that on top of the table was Asfi, who had a crown on her head, and he deduced she was the queen, which meant she was his wife.

"Welcome dear, have a seat and we can start dinner" said Asfi with smile, which was out of character for her.

"I will. Thank you" said Bell as he took a seat "You can serve dinner" he said as he looked at the maid.

"Immediately, your majesty" said the maid, as she went to the kitchen, in order to serve dinner.

"After this, all of us will have some fun, as we always do" said Freya with a seductive smile, as all the girls nodded which surprised Bell.

'That means I am going to have sex will all of them and we have been doing this every night till now. I admit that the thought of being with them is tempting, but something does not feel right' thought Bell as he heard a voice.

'I hope you are safe Bell-san' said the voice, but, for some reason, he didn't recognize the voice since it was only a whisper.
