Happy Halloween, Willy and Charlie!
Yes, I know, it's August. But anyway I always wondered if Willy would go trick-or-treating or if he'd be too traumatized to go after his childhood. So I had Charlie forcing him to go at first. Then I decided to add in Wilbur just for a ton of drama and then...Pandemonium ensures. Sorry for the silly excuse for his parents not taking him, I had to get rid of them somehow. (As for the hair-brushing scene...Well, I couldn't think what else to have them doing. Plus the idea of Charlie being more adult and taking care of Willy was funny to me. This is NOT a Willy/Charlie ship because those are creepy Charlie's a little kid and Willy's an adult ew no. They love each other...but NOT LIKE THAT!) Hope you enjoy!
Charlie picked up a hairbrush being handed to him by an Oompa-Loompa and began to brush Willy's hair. "See, no one will know you're actually Willy Wonka. They'll all think you're just in costume and they won't pester you."
Willy nodded. "That makes sense. I can't believe D-Dad agreed to come with us."
Charlie beamed.
"So what, you're going to put a sheet over your head?" Willy held up the hand mirror and watched Charlie's expression.
"Yup. That was what you did, and you're the boss." Charlie retrieved the curling iron and began to curl the ends of Willy's bob.
"I only did that because my face was hideous, Charlie. You, on the other hand...aren't hideous." Willy ducked his burning face down and nearly got his nose clamped with the curling iron.
Charlie unplugged it hastily and said, "Do you think Dr. W. Will dress up?"
Willy snorted. "Very funny, Charlie."
Charlie looked disappointed. "Oh. Well, he's coming, right? We'll have fun anyway."
Willy stood and caught hold of Charlie's wrist, twirling him around. "He's only coming because of you, little boy. Listen. Here's what he said, word for word." (Willy cleared his throat dramatically.) "Candy is a waste of time, but that boy you've got running around in your mad factory is a good reason to come. He'd be a good dentist. You'll rot his teeth in that crazyhouse."
Charlie laughed so hard that he began to choke and was still choking as Grandpa Joe entered.
"Charlie, your parents and I are leaving for the masquerade. Will you be ok with this madman?" Grandpa Joe cast a reproving glance at Willy, who looked very innocent.
"I'll make him behave. Have fun, Grandpa."
Joe tipped his hat and strode off, his cane tapping on the candy grass.
"Thank you for agreeing to take me," Charlie said to the chocolatier, giving him a kiss on the nose.
"Ew, no kisses." Willy turned back to his mirror so Charlie wouldn't see his face.
"Sorry. Mr. Wonka, are you sure you're going to be ok tonight?"
Willy nodded. "I'll be fine. Years have passed...I'll be fine."
Charlie pulled his sheet from his backpack. "I think Dr. W came because of you, not me."
"Rubbish." Willy spun round to face him. "Do you think you would be a good dentist."
"I dunno." Charlie's voice was muffled slightly by the sheet that had gotten twisted around his face. "I might if I tried."
"Well, that makes me feel better." Willy pulled the sheet back over Charlie's eyes just as he finally got free and turned back to the mirror. "Thanks, Charlie."
Charlie popped up beside him. "I'll never leave you, Mister Wonka."
"I'll never want you to."
"Good. Charlie quickly kissed Willy on the cheek and sprinted out of the room as Willy tried to grab his collar.
