So Eda and Revy have Gretel and Hansel cornered and Balalaika is closing in on them .
What card will the twins pull out of their sleeves now ?
By the way , sorry if this chapter seems a bit rushed but I've been busy today .

The tension in the air was so thick you could cut it with a knife , if Hansel couldn't reach his crossbow in time then they were both dead !
" Awwww ! But I'm offering you 150 thousand dollars miss , is that not a good deal ? " Gretel cutely batted her eyelashes at woman known as Eda .
" Uh ... it is but ..." Eda was dumbfounded for how to respond to that .
" That doesn't matter ! After we kill these brats , don't forget to pick up the cash on the ground when you're done , kay Eda ? " The woman known as Revy pointed her guns at the two of them .
" Uh ... okay ! " Eda pointed her gun at Gretel " Don't you fucking move ! "
" Please miss , we really don't want to die here ... " Gretel approached Eda , not scared at all " Do you really want to have nightmares about my death for the rest of your life ? "
" Um ... well " Eda faltered in her stance .
" Just take the money and we can all go home happily ..." Gretel sweetly smiled at Eda " Pretty please miss ..."
" Eh ... well I ... shit ..."
" Eda what the fuck are you doing !? " Revy called out to her " Don't tell me you're actually falling for this brats cute and innocent act ! Its obvious she's just trying to buy time-"
Revy was cut off when Hansel drew his crossbow , loaded with a non-lethal sleep dart and fired it at her . Her eyes widened as the dart was shot at her , she didn't have the time to dodge it , so she blocked the dart with her arms . The contents of the dart quickly entered itself into her system and she fell to the ground with a dull thud .
" Holy shit Revy ! " Eda looked at her friend fall to the ground " You little - !"
Gretel knocked Eda out with the butt of her BAR , using it as a bat of sorts . Eda's body fell unconsciously to the ground , alongside Revy .
" Well , I guess negotiations are over " Gretel said , quickly grabbing Eda's gun and throwing it to the side .
" I believe that is an understatement sora mea " Hansel went to Revy's body and threw her guns to the side . Hansel couldn't help but admire Revy's gun , there were quite fine if not a little beat up .
" We need to move , we made a lot of noise and the Russians will probably be on us soon " Hansel said to Gretel , who nodded in agreement .
At that moment a car drove up besides the alley , Hansel immediately saw that it had a machine gun mounted on it . The men in the car and on top of the machine gun opened fire on them and the twins quickly took cover behind a wall , Gretel shooting back at them , but not hitting a single one of them due to not being able to get a shot .
" They got us pinned down ! " Gretel called out , reloading her gun .
" You think !? " Hansel shouted back , pulling out his Glock and returning fire .
Out of the corner of their eyes , the twins saw that the two lady bounty hunters unconscious bodies were still caught out in the crossfire ! They wouldn't last much longer , not with all the bullets being fired down the alley and not out in the open . They both looked at each other and pondered whether they should really risk their lives to save a couple of hired guns that tried to kill them a few minutes ago .
After a brief moment of looking at each other , their conscious's won out .
" Sora mea , on my mark , cover me ! " Hansel shouted rummaging through his coat and pulling out a flash grenade .
" Got it ! " Gretel cocked her gun .
Hansel threw the grenade with accuracy at the Russian's , the second the grenade went off , it blinded them all , which provided the twins with all the opportunity they need . Gretel peeked her gun around the corner and began shooting at them , managing to nail a few of them non-lethally in the shoulder . Hansel quickly grabbed the two lady bounty hunters by the back of their shirt necks and pulled them into cover , just as the Russian's began returning fire .
" God , these two are heavy ! " Hansel said , laying them both up against the wall .
" Fratele meu , its not nice to insult a woman's weight " Gretel mildly scolded him , shooting back at the Russians .
" You want to try carrying them ? "
Gretel went silent at Hansel's question , only shooting back at their enemies .
" Fratele meu , look ! " Gretel pointed at a manhole cover beside her " We can use that to escape "
Gretel didn't need to say anymore , Hansel quickly took out his axe and pried the manhole cover off , grunting a bit at the sheer weight of the cover . Hansel covered his nose to protect from the disgusting smell of the sewer , before grabbing their bags and throwing them down .
" Sora mea , come on ! " Hansel patted her on the back , giving her the signal to retreat , before jumping down the hole himself .
Gretel fired off a few more rounds , before pulling a flash grenade out and throwing it at their enemies , waiting for them to be blinded before jumping down to join her brother . Pulling the manhole cover back over , to cover their tracks .
And like that , they were gone like the wind ... or water since they were in a sewer .
" Is that so ? I see ..." Boris said into his com , before turning to Balalaika " Kapitan ,we lost the target , both of them during a firefight "
" I see , so they're avoiding our eyes ... quite clever " Balalaika put her hands together " Tell the teams on the ground to do a sweep of the area , I want them found and tell the observation teams on the rooftops to pull back "
" Understood Kapitan " Boris nodded before giving those orders on the radio .
BOOM !
A huge explosion rocked the two of them , making even Balalaika jump at the sound of it . Balalaika turn to see smoke rising up in the distance , coming from the direction she had her men set up in .
" Sergeant what the hell was that ?! " Balalaika shouted , looking at the smoke in the air .
" I don't know , all units report in now ! " Boris shouted into his radio .
" This Lavochek unit , we are under heavy fire ! Half of us are dead and the others are ... OH SHIT ! " The sound of an explosion followed on the radio before it was suddenly cut out .
" Private do you copy !? What the hell is happening down there !? " Boris shouted into his radio , only to receive silence in response .
" This is Loboski unit , we have been ambushed by the enemy and are being gunned down ! We need reinforcements immediately -AHHH ! "
Balalaika looked off in the distance as more smoke starts rising in the air , which can only mean the worse .
" Sergeant , tell all units to fall back now ! "
" I'm trying but none of them are responding ! " Boris tried to get in contact with any of the units .
Balalaika felt a surge of fear rise up in her chest .
For the first time , since the war Balalaika felt genuinely uncertain and afraid for her men .
" Fratele meu , can we please get out of here ? This place is ruining my dress ! " Gretel whined , holding her skirt up high above the sewer water .
Its been around 20 minutes since they went down into the sewers to lose their enemies and so far Gretel has complained at every given opportunity . Not that Hansel could really blame her , this place was stinky and disgusting as hell . He was pretty sure , he had just stepped on his third sewer rat . They are seriously going to need to take a shower after this ... maybe 3 or more , just to lose the damn smell .
" Not yet , sora mea , we need to wait a little while longer to make sure they are all gone " Hansel tried to calm his sister down " Did you hear those explosions just now ? It sounded like a car blowing up or something "
" Yeah and I think I heard the sound of gunfire , while we were walking just now " Gretel held her BAR close " Do you think something's happened ? "
" I don't know , but I got a bad feeling about this ... " Hansel thought back to Verrocchio and how he mysteriously showed up at his office , even though he was supposed to be at a meeting.
" Hey sora mea , don't you think it was kinda strange for Verrocchio to conveniently show up at his office when he said he was going to a meeting ? "
" Yeah , now that you mention it , it is strange ... its almost like he knew we were going to quit the job and rob him blind " Gretel placed a hand to hes chin .
' Almost like he knew ... like he knew ...' Hansel repeated in his head , before his eyes widened in realization .
" What if he did know ? " Hansel raised the question .
" What do you mean ? " Gretel asks , confused at the question .
" What if all of this has been part of Verrocchio's plan from the beginning , what if he already knew we were going to defect as soon as he gave us the job to kill Miss Balalaika and Chang ? "
" How could he though ? " Gretel retorted " Its not like he placed any bugs in our room to listen in on us and know our thoughts "
" The walls of that room a hollow and anybody could just lean in on the door or the room next to us to listen to what we were talking about " Hansel deduced " He must have had one of his men keep an eye on us at all times "
" Yeah , but what would have been the point of it ? We already weakened Hotel Moscow and the Triad's forces , so what was the point of having us defect , steal the money and and go on the run ? "
Hansel thought hard , that was a good point , why did Verrocchio let them steal the money and go on the run ? Was it because he thought some bounty hunter would take care of them ? Nah , that doesn't make sense , he should have known they would be able to take care of most bounty hunters with ease .
Hotel Moscow's deployed a lot of troops from their base so could it be that ...
" Oh my god ..." Hansel eyes widened in shock .
" What is it fratele meu ? "
" As bait ... " Hansel muttered " We've been bait this whole time ! "
" Huh !? What are you talking about ? " Gretel was confused about what her brother was saying .
" We've been bait this whole time ! Verrocchio must have known that Hotel Moscow and the Triad's would be on our asses as soon as they found who we were and that's exactly what he wanted ! He wanted to draw out both the Triad's and Hotel Moscow's forces ! Have their forces scattered all over the city hunting for our heads and then take them out ! And he was using us to do it ! "
Gretel held a hand to her mouth in shock " Oh my god ... you're right ! "
" Those were probably what those explosions were just now , the sound of Hotel Moscow's men getting mowed down "
Both Hansel and Gretel felt a huge mountain of guilt collapse on their shoulders , it was their fault that Hotel Moscow was now getting fucked badly by Verrocchio . They had been played massively by the bastard and was used as bait to screw them over .
They were used ... the same way they were used as a stunt dogs for entertainment back in their younger years ...
And to top it off , Miss Balalaika , Mr Chang and their men are now paying the bill for their actions ... even though the twins didn't actually know them , they still felt guilty over what they did .
They both look at each other and seem to understand what the other was thinking immediately .
They had to make this right ...
" What do we do fratele meu ? " Gretel asked , cocking her gun .
" We do what's right . We take care of Verrocchio and then we're getting out of this city " Hansel voice turned serious " Its the least we can do , to make up for the losses the Triad's and Hotel Moscow have suffered these past few weeks "
" Quite right , fratele meu " Gretel nodded " But how are we going to find them ? "
" Back when Verrocchio first gave us the job to take out Miss Balalaika and Chang , one of his goons mentioned that they received a shipment from the Ripoff Church , headed by a Sister Eda "
" So how are we going to find this Eda ? "
" We already have sora mea , don't you remember just now , that woman named referred to the blonde lady as Eda "
" So you think their the same Eda ? "
" I'm honestly not too sure , but right now she's the best link we have to finding Verrocchio " Hansel put his hand on the ladder leading to above ground " Now let's go have a nice chat with that nice lady , shall we ... ? "
" Great , just fucking great , first my guys get shot up and sent to the hospital and now I have to walk home ... just perfect " Chang mumbled as he walked down the empty street back to his place .
He was starting to regret not getting a cab or calling one of his boys to pick him up , but now its too late and he has to walk home .
Walking down the streets of Roanapur was never exactly his cup of tea , mostly since the streets smelled like shit , piss , blood and beer . Not that he wasn't used to such a smell , back when he was a cop , he used to walk down a beat just like this . It feels kinda nostalgic thinking about it now , he always tried to be that good guy , the man in the white hat , but eventually he realized far too late that he wasn't becoming like them , he was them .
It was a rather depressing realization . At that point , it was too late to pull out and he was too deep in , he couldn't go back to his old life so his only choice left was to climb up the ranks of the Triads .
Its odd how a simple walk can make him think so much , maybe he should do this kinda thing more often ...
His thoughts were cut off when his phone rang , picking it up and greeting the person on the other person " Yeah , what is it ? "
" Boss ! We need help ! " Chen , one of his guys answered .
" Why ? What's going on ? " Chang was alarmed at urgency in Chen's voice .
" We've been ambushed boss ! We're fucking dying over here and have been busy running for cover ! We need help now - AHHH ! "
" Chen !? What the hell's happening !? Chen ! "
Gunfire ended the call , leaving only a morbid beep .
" Shit ... what the hell is going on " Chang grit his teeth , putting his phone away .
At that moment , a car rolled up on the street and stopped at him , it had its window and roof down and Chang could see three men all armed with guns in it . Chang's eyes widened as they all pointed their guns at him .
" Mr. Verrocchio says , ci vediamo all'inferno " One of the men in the passenger seat says to him , before pointing his submachine gun at him .
" Oh shit " Chang cursed before pulling out his guns .
'This is gonna be a long night ' Chang thought in his head as he ran for cover .
" Damn it ... god fucking damn it ! " Revy cursed as she and Eda walked down the dark streets of Roanapur .
They had woken up just a few minutes ago and were less than thrilled to hear that the twins got away , Revy was especially pissed that they got their asses handed to them by a couple brats . She swore that the next she sees them , she's gonna drill a couple in that boy brats skull . Eda wasn't an happier either , because she got played for a sucker by a brat and that wasn't the only thing she was pissed about ...
" I don't know what the fuck you're complaining about , I'm the one who has to go back to the Church empty handed . " Eda shot at Revy " We should have just taken the girl's offer , but that would have been too easy for you wouldn't it , instead you got greedy and fucked us both ! Now we both have to go back with nothing "
" Why you whiny bitch ! " Revy growled , turning to Eda and putting her foot on a trashcan . " You're lucky as shit , that I was around to save your balls from getting shot off from those guys from Hotel Moscow , remember that ! "
" First off , you got your ass knocked out so I don't recall being saved by you ! " Eda retorted " And secondly , last time I checked I didn't have a pair , but maybe you do you nasty she-male ! "
Revy kicked the trashcan to the aside in anger , spilling all of its contents and getting up close to Eda " You asked for it bitch ! Draw your goddamn gun right now ! "
" When I'm through with you , you're gonna have to choose which asshole you wanna shit through ! You got that ! " Eda butted heads with Revy , they both started pushing against each other and in an attempt of dominance , but in less than a minute they both stopped .
" You know ... I don't even care anymore , we both fucked up and didn't get a single penny out of this " Revy let out a sigh .
" Yeah ... I'm gonna go get a drink at the Yellow Flag , drink away my sadness , wanna come with ? " Eda offered .
Revy waved her off " Nah , I'm good , I'm gonna head back to office , call me if anything comes up "
" Alright , see you later ..."
" Don't get into too much trouble Eda ... " Revy gave a small wave as she walked away .
" Heh , you kidding me , I practically attract trouble " Eda made a small joke , as Revy's disappeared in the dark streets of Roanapur .
" Now time to get myself a drink and get laid- "
Eda was cut off when the sound of somebody cocking their gun came from behind her , making her freeze in her movements , almost on instinct .
" Hi there miss , did we catch you at a bad time ? " A familiar boyish voice came from behind , as footsteps approached her back .
Eda eyes widened at the realization of who it is " How long have you two been there ? "
" A while , we were actually waiting until you were alone " A girlish voice responded as Eda felt the barrel of something press against her head " We thought it would be best if we didn't face the two of you , especially now that we don't have the element of surprise "
" Get those hands in the air " Hansel ordered , pointing his Glock at Eda .
" Fuck ..." Eda cursed as she raised her hands . " Listen kids if this is a about the whole 'trying to kill you thing ' , I'm really sorry about that ..."
" Its okay miss , we're not mad " Gretel said simply .
" You aren't ? "
" No , we actually just wanted to know something about you ... you're a member of the Ripoff Church correct ? " Hansel questioned .
" Y-Yeah , I'm nun there " Eda nervously responded .
" Good ! Then if you don't mind we would like to ask you some questions regarding one of your clients , we believed he made a rather large order recently , a Mr. Verrocchio " Hansel walked around Eda and took her gun away from her .
Eda smiled nervously " Come on kids , you know I can't give away clients personal info ... that would be unbecoming of the Ripoff Church's policy " Eda flashed the twins with a cocky smile " And I guarantee you , that if anything happens to me , the Ripoff Church will come for you two brats "
Eda was hoping she could scare them into letting her go , they were only kids after all ...
Gretel let out a sigh " Looks like we have no choice fratele meu ..."
" Indeed sora mea ... " Hansel let out a sigh as well .
Eda let out a chuckle " So you two are going to let me go-"
Eda was cut off once again , when Gretel knocked her out with the butt of her BAR , making the nun fall ungracefully towards the ground . She would have smashed her face against the concrete ground , but Hansel caught her in time before she went down .
" Looks like we'll have to take her in as a prisoner ... "
So Eda has been kidnapped by the twins ! What horrible acts could those two be planning for the unlucky nun ?
