It's been a while since Gumball and Rob saved Elmore from the void. They weren't really recognized for what they did though. They were still considered a loser and a bad guy.
"Hey Rob, I found something." Gumball said. He showed Rob a hat made of tin.
"What am I supposed to do with this?" Rob asked.
"It's a memory hat… I remembered when Darwin and I pushed you in the sewers… Sorry about that." Gumball said sheepishly. "Any way, maybe you can use this to revive your old memories."
"I don't know… Something tells me I have always been a nobody." Rob sighed.
"Okay, Darwin and I are going to play Zelmore." Gumball shrugged and left.
Rob looked at the hat, did he really want to remember his past life? It could have made him more miserable than the void did. But he was curious, whatever the past was, it was in the past, right?
Rob put on the hat and remembered.
He was cheering on Gumball to fight Tina, apparently Tobias had a sister and he went to a party with Molly as his date. He tried to be friends with Gumball and Darwin but Gumball couldn't remember his name and Darwin pushed him in the sewers. Later he was a part of an angry mob against the Watterson family.
Family… He vaguely remembered having one, but it was hard to remember… He thought harder and then he remembered. His mom took in babies until she could find them homes, but she was a workaholic and didn't pay much attention to her real family. He had a brother who spent 24/7 on his phone, not caring about the world around him. His dad… he didn't remember him much, but he seemed to live out of town.
One day Rob ran away from home after yelling at his mom.
"I hate you! I hate my whole family! I hate my friends! I hate Elmore! I hate my life! I… Hate myself!" He ran away crying, his mom tried to stop him, begging him to come back, promising to do better but it was too late… The void happened.
Rob breathed heavily and took the hat off, this was a lot to take in. He had a family, but they didn't care about him. He should have known… But why did his mom want him back if she didn't care? Should he try to find them? No they wouldn't remember him. But he had the hat. But would they care enough to let him back in the family? Especially after the horrible unforgivable things he has done.
