Story beginning
When the first rays of sunlight had begun to shine over the horizon in the morning Naruto and his clones had already reassembled in the living room of their current house.
"Okay boys! One of you who studied English all night go ahead and dispel first so I can see how fast it takes to process since it's been like 10 hours of studying." Naruto said carefully, now that Kurama wasn't there to help process info he didn't want to overload his mind.
POOF!
"Huh, well I guess nothing- SON OF A BITCH!" Naruto yelled out loud. It felt like someone had punched him in the back of the head. It was then he realized that he didn't tell which one clone to dispel and so they all did without thinking.
"Damn for once I'm glad to not be the boss." "Yeah that looked like it hurt a lot" "I couldn't imagine dealing with you idiots." The remaining clones began to talk amongst themselves waiting for the actual Naruto to recover and sift though the newfound knowledge he held.
"Well shit, I don't know how good I'll be in conversation but at least I can read and write it to a eleventh grade level? I can't believe they have kids in training until they're eighteen here. I would hate to be in the academy that long. Sucks to be them I guess." He said staring at the ceiling. "Alright boys, the rest of you dispel. I'm sure it won't hurt since twenty was manageable."
"Pfft, whatever you say boss!" The clones said with a cheesy salute while dropping a manilla folder before disappearing in a plum of smoke
"Heh, knew it wouldn't hurt too bad" Naruto said out loud with his eye barely twitching from pain
"Well, time to go through these documents and my supplies. I need to plan my moves carefully from now on."
A few hours later
"Damn, only forty shuriken, twenty kunai, food pills for five days, enough water for a week, and kakashi-sensei's gift.."
*small flashback*
"Why should I have to learn how to use a sword kakashi-sensei? I could just kick anyone's ass with my arms and legs!" Naruto shouted thumping his chest
"Well Naruto I've told you before. Deception is one of a ninjas best allies. Plus what if the enemy has a sword that'll negate your reach hmm?" Kakashi said with his signature eye smile
Knowing Kakashi made a good point Naruto figured it would hurt to at least try learning to use a sword.
"Alright sensei I'll give it a shot but first I need to get a sword. One so badass it'll make all my opponents shake in their sandals!" Naruto shouted with one fist extended to the sky
Kakashi couldn't help but feel a large amount of pride and happiness for what he was about to do. "Naruto don't worry I already have a sword for you. Here."
POOF!
He held out both of his hands and in them was a thin all black sword sheath. The handle at the end was all black except for the worn white tape near where the guard would be if it had one.
Naruto accepted the sword quietly, wondering where exactly his sensei had gotten it from and when. Pulling the blade free from the sheath he laid eyes on an immaculately polished and maintained steel blade. Only one word came to mind "woah!"
"You know I thought the same thing. That blade is special Naruto." Kakashi said staring at him with happiness and...sadness in his eyes.
"What do you mean Kakashi-sensei where did this blade come from?" Naruto asked feeling his pulse quicken just waiting for the answer now
"Well it was the blade of the legendary Sakumo Hatake, my father. Then I inherited it and used it for many missions. Now I think it's time I pass it on to someone I know who will use it to protect their friends and loved ones. I want you to have it Naruto." Kakashi said again with his eye smile at the end, except this time you could see slight tears forming at the corner of his exposed eye.
"Oof!" Kakashi opened his eyes to see Naruto giving him a hug. He was shocked. All he could do was smile and pat the top of Naruto's head "If I ever had a son I would've liked him to be jus like you Naruto"
"Alright Kakashi-sensei, I promise I'll master the sword and make both of you proud!" Naruto shouted smiling wiping the snot and tears from his face "it's a promise!"
"I believe you Naruto, and I'll help you by teaching you all I know. Now. Get ready." Kakashi said somewhat determined and giddy?
"Uhm sensei what sword are you gonna use?" Naruto asked
POOF!
"I'm sure you're quite familiar with this one, I said I would teach you to overcome a difference in reach now didn't I?" Kakashi said smugly and as soon as the smoke cleared he saw it
"That's just cheating! I can believe you're gonna use Zabuza's sword!" Naruto whines but instantly reacted and used his new blade to stop kakashi's attack
"First lesson Naruto, defense!" Kakashi shouted and his swordsmanship torture *erhm* training began
*flashback end*
"Ah good times" he smiled fondly at the blade before sealing it back up. Apparently it's frowned upon to openly have weapons unless you're a cop? At least that's what he thinks their called.
Knock knock knock
Naruto instantly drew a kunai he had hidden in his jacket sleeve, held it close to his chest and walked towards the door.
Opening it slowly he realized it was a girl...in orange? Holding a plant of some sort. "Awesome! This places women have amazing taste!" He thought happily
"Hello?" The unknown girl spoke curious
Quickly tucking the kunai back up his sleeve he answered opening the door fully "Ah sorry about that I was just nervous! I wasn't expecting anyone actually I'm new here." Naruto said chuckling
"Oh yeah, we know" the girl said matter of factly
"Wait who's we?" Naruto asked
"My mother and I. We saw you get dropped of yesterday by and had no idea someone finally moved into this place. So we deduced that you must be our new neighbors and the nice thing to do is welcome you. Sorry, I'm Velma by the way." She said pushing her glasses up her nose and extending the plant into his hands
"Oh, thanks? I'm Naruto Uzumaki-Namikaze by the way." Was his smart reply as he accepted the flower, honestly confused. He had so much to learn about his place apparently
"Japanese name huh? Interesting... have you-"
"VELMA! honey I need your help real quick!" An older lady's voice shouted from across the street
"Well it was nice to meet you Naruto and if you need any help at school on Monday don't be afraid to ask me! It's the start of the school year so you shouldn't be behind! See you at Eight in the morning!" She shouted and waved over her shoulder walking back to her house
"Okay sure! Wait. I have to go back to school!? Kami why!?" He shouted to the sky falling on his hands and knees "I'm so screwed"
Let it be known, Naruto was capable of facing murders, armies, and even godlike beings but if there was one enemy that could easily break him. It was a textbook and studying.
Coolsville Mall
Once Naruto had recovered from his shock of learning he had to go back to school to blend in he decided he might as well spend the rest of the day getting stuff he might need. What better place to check than that huge shopping center Nan showed him!
"Wow, I'll never stop being amazed by this place!" He said staring at all the colorful, sleek stores and lights
"Right! I feel the same way! Malls are so amazing!" A voice sang out from his left side and once he was done turning he was shocked!
"NAN!?" He shouted. Then he realized is wasn't nan! The nan he hung out with yesterday was beautiful, no doubt, but she dressed very sophisticated and elegant. This woman in front of him though. "WOW! She's gorgeous!"
"Haha. No i'm not my mother but I can see why you would think that I mean we do look like sisters to most people. I'm Daphne, it's nice to meet you uhm?" She stated waiting on naruto to answer her unasked question
"Oh i'm naruto! It's nice to meet you too daphne! You have a name as pretty as you are!" Naruto said smiling not even noticing daphne's slight blush
"Wow I don't think i've even been complimented so directly and honestly before" Daphne thought to herself. "Well naruto are you new in town? i'm only asking cause you know my mom somehow" She said laughing at the end
"Well it's a funny story actually hehe" Naruto replied rubbing the back of his head
"Groovy, want to tell it to me over some lunch? The food court is jut down that way so I wouldn't mind listening over a burger and milkshake" Daphne asked now invested in this new mystery man, and if theres one thing daphne loves it's mysteries
"Sure! Sounds awesome!" Naruto replied energetically "CRAP! What the hell is a hamburger and why would shaken milk be a specialty?" He asked himself while being led away by daphne
"Ah well, I was gonna find out eventually right?... Plus the company is nice."
