Janja was back where he was with the Hyena Resistance, and Jasiri was offering him a place in her clan once again after she had saved him from a steam vent.

"You and your clan don't have to be on Scar's side Janja. You can join us! The Hyena Resistance and help defeat him!" Jasiri said once again with joy.

Janja had the same feelings as he had before. A fluttering heart, a stiff body, eyes wide and lost for words. Janja's mind was full of questions and uncertainty. Janja wanted to get some words out but he could only manage

"Well…"

But then a flash of memories came to his mind that made him stop in his tracks. He switched to yell, " I don't think-" But then Jasiri suddenly morphed into a creature. Orange and yellow flames appeared as the shape of a lion's head appeared. His surroundings turned to a volcano. Janja was confused but then his body shuddered as he realized how this creature was.

"Scar?"

" Janja, how dare you cross me? You have your tail between your legs for a female that doesn't give two rats about you!" Scar snarled.

"Scar I don't know what you're-" Janja started but was quickly interrupted.

" Don't play games with me Janja! I know you're in love with Jasiri. Everyone knows it! The skinks caught you hesitating with Jasiri's offer!" Scar exclaimed in rage.

"Scar, I was going to reject her! I was just-"

"THAT'S NOT ALL JANJA! The skinks caught you and Jasiri cuddling up and sharing kisses in the meadow. I will not allow a traitor into my army!" Scar growled as Janja winced.

Janja's heart was beating so hard it felt like it would leap from his chest. He had his ears flat and eyes wide. The flames surrounding Scar appeared bigger and bigger and were crawling towards Janja.

"SCAR! I'M SORRY! PLEASE SCAR!" Janja pleaded before the flames consumed him.

Janja opened his eyes and his head shot up with a yelp. He saw that much of his clan was staring at him with concern. Janja felt awkward with the situation and after he panted for a second, he snarled,

"What are you looking at?"

Most of the hyenas quickly turned their head away. Janja stood up and looked at Cheezi and Chungu who were in the corner of his den.

"What is wrong with you guys and why are you in my den?" he asked.

"Janja, you were sleep talking again," Cheezi stated.

"And you were like panicking," Chungu added.

"We wanted to see if you need an extra hug!"

"No, furbrains!" Janja said as he got up. He padded to the outside of his den.

"I'm perfectly fine."

Nne was there outside his den. He heard what Janja said to Cheezi and Chungu and approached him. " Boss, you were shaking and moving around in panic though. Not that you need a hug but I wouldn't say you were completely fine."

"It was just a dream Nne! Nothing to worry about!"

Janja growled. He came around to his other hyenas. Today was a break day that Scar had given them so Scar had time to think of a plan. Janja actually felt relieved considering the dream he just had.

"Boys!" Janja shouted to get his hyenas' attention. " Today is a break day. Do whatever you want. Just as long as you stay in the outlands, unless I say otherwise."

The hyenas went off to do their thing. Janja walked away from them and proceed to go elsewhere from their territory. Cheezi and Chungu walked up to him.

"Where you going Janja?" Cheezi asked.

"I'm going for a walk," Janja said.

"If you're wanting to come, I'm afraid you furbrains are not invited."

Janja walked off into the cliffs as Cheezi and Chungu winced in response but turned around with their ears flattened and heads bowed.

Janja continued on his walk. He was thinking to himself about the dream. He was thinking about how ridiculous the dream was and how most of it was impossible. He and Jasiri sharing kisses? Cuddling? He didn't think so. He laughed at the dream and making joking remarks in his mind to reassure himself.

But then as he was walking, he encountered the place he saw Jasiri last night. He looked past Jasiri's border, seeing if she was around the area. He sniffed the air. No Jasiri.

A pang of disappointment touched his heart. His ears that were once perk up, went down a bit. He looked down. No Jasiri. Go figure, Janja thought.

Then he snapped out of his thoughts and shook his head.

No! Why am I disappointed she's not here? She's nothing but trouble and all "circle of life". I don't want her around!

Janja headed back towards his turf, but he looked behind him for a moment. He suddenly thought to himself,

I can see if she's back tonight. Yeah, she probably a night time wanderer.

Janja continued to walk away and his hear started to beat faster. His heart was full of excitement. Janja suddenly smiled and his ears perked up. His tail swayed a bit as he thought about tonight.

But then he stopped for a moment.

But I'm not in love with Jasiri! I don't love her like that. At all. He thought.

But he continued on his way to his turf with an excitement that didn't burn out even if his thoughts denied it.

It was nighttime and all of the boys had went to sleep. Well, except for Janja of course. Janja looked around before he stood up and walked off.

His heart was pumping out excitement. Janja's mood changed from the whole day. He was desperately hoping that Jasiri was wandering in that part of the territory. Hopefully they could talk and hang out. Or maybe there could be more than that?

Janja came to the spot he saw Jasiri last time. He looked around for a second to see if Jasiri would appear. He couldn't see her in the night. He looked to see if she was hiding anywhere.

Janja didn't see her and he became disappointed. His ears flattened and he bowed his head. He sighed. You're not even supposed to be with her ethier. You are not deserving of her. You guys don't have the same values and are on two different sides! What's the matter with you? Janja thought.

Just as he was about to leave, he heard a familiar voice.

"Janja?"

Janja turned back to see Jasiri on her side of the land.

"You're back?" Jasiri said in suprise.

Janja's ears perked up and a slight smile came from his mouth. "Not for you but I guess."

"You're in quite the mood for being in my presence," Jasiri pointed out.

Janja started to feel hot and flattened his ears with his head bowed.

"I-I-I'm just in a good mood today," he mumbled.

"Yeah, that's rare." Jasiri giggled.

Janja lifted his head up. " You wish I was here because of you," Janja responded in defense.

"Sure Janja," Jasiri crackled. Then she saw Janja walking away with his nose pointed up.

"Hey! Hey! Okay fine. I'm sorry Janja."

Janja turned back and stopped. "Yeah, yeah, I was leaving anyways. Wasn't planning on a furbrain being here."

"You know we can hang out sometime,"Jasiri stated. " Even if you don't want to talk about the circle of life right now, I would still be willing to talk."

"And why would that be?" Janja asked with a smirk.

"I want you to change your mind Janja," Jasiri said. " I know you're not happy with Scar. I know you're going down a path you don't want to go. I want to be able to give you a chance to change your life."

Janja's smirk turned to shock. His eyes widen in response and his fur bristled. " You really mean it? But I-"

"You deserve another chance Janja," Jasiri reassured him.

"And yeah, I mean it."

Janja paused for a moment and looked into her eyes. His heart started beating faster and his paws slowly moved towards her. He stopped when his face was a foot away from Jasiri. His eyes were focused on Jasiri's.

She really means that, Janja thought.

Jasiri had paused for a moment, but broke the silence by awkwardly giggling. Janja snapped from his thoughts and giggled as well.

"Well, uh, I'm sorry about that," Janja said.

"That's not like me to stop thinking like that."

"It's alright!" Jasiri reassured him.

"Now, how about conversing?"

"Aren't we already doing that?" Janja asked with his head cocked to the side.

"Well, let's go ahead and continue," Jasiri chuckled. She started walking deeper into her territory.

Janja grunted but followed Jasiri anyway. It's nothing more than a conversation, Janja thought.

That wouldn't hurt. Would it?
