Life isn't fair, people were not created equally and people only care about themselves. These were truths that I learned when I was only four years old. In a world where everyone but 20 percent (most of that 20 percent is made up of elders) of the world's population has something that makes them special. Power is what is important, If you have no power then your life is not worth anything. Luckily I was one of those people born with power or what is also known as quirks. Unfortunately my quirk wasn't anything special all it did was allow me to see in the dark. While it was a useful quirk it was not as impressive as a quirk that gave you superhuman strength for example, even so I strived to become a hero. My name is Izuku Midoriya, you might think you heard of me but I promise you that you have not heard this story.

I wake up to the sound of the alarm going off opening my eyes I quickly shut them when the light of the sun hits them. I get up and turn off the alarm. I can hear some noise from the other room 'must be my mom getting ready for the day' I think to myself as I get up and start getting ready for school.
"Good morning mom." I say as I leave my room ready to go to school.
"Morning Izuku are you ready to head to school." my mom responds.
"Yeah I'm ready, I am going to head out see you when I get home." I say heading to the door to leave.
"Take care Izuku." My mom yells from the kitchen.
As I was walking to school I noticed my old friend Bakugo bullying some random kid. 'I don't know why we were ever friends' I think as I go over to see if I can encourage him to leave the kid alone and get to classes.
"Hey bakugou we should get to class you don't want to be late and ruin your record do you?" I ask as he sees me coming towards them.
"Huh what you say you shitty eyes." Bakugou insultingly replies "You think you can order me around shitty eyes cause you can't. I was leaving anyway, I can't be late if I'm going to be the number one hero. I have to be the number one at everything else." He says as he turns around and leaves.
"Hey man you okay." I ask the kid
"Yeah I am okay, thank you" he says as he bows and runs off.
'I better hurry up or I'll be late to class' I think as I rush to class.

"As a third year you need to seriously start thinking about what you want to do as an adult. I could hand out an aptitude test but who am I kidding you all want to be heroes." I hear our teacher say as we are almost done with the day
"Teach don't lump me in with these extras!" Bakugou yells as he makes small explosions in his hands."I'm the only one that is going to UA. I already aced the mock test. These extras won't even cut it as a sidekick."
"Ah yes you're applying to UA right? Isn't Midoriya also applying? The teacher ask
"Eh Midoriya I don't see it." Says a student with stretchy eyeballs.
"Yeah all his quirk does is let him see in the dark. His eyes are cool looking I guess." A girl with cat features and similar eyes to mines mentions
"Deku you and your shitty eyes won't make it so don't even try!" Screams Bakugou.
"Calm down class." The teacher yells before I can respond. As she yells this the bell rings and everyone scrambles to leave class.
"Deku I am not done with you." Bakugou says as he walks over to my desk and continues talking " I'm the only one from this shotty school that is going to UA and I am going to become the number one hero don't apply and embarrass yourself."
With that said he walks towards the door and leaves but just before he leaves he turns around and says " If you really want to be a hero jump off a building and pray that you're born with a better quirk in your next life."
I sat there for a few moments before finally getting up. 'He should really be careful who he says that to what if someone actually jumped that would be on his record.' I head toward the door to go home. As I was on my way home I heard sirens in the distance deciding to go check it out I made my way iver.as I got closer I saw a large group of people. "What is going on." I asked
"Apparently a villain with a slime-like quirk captured the same kid with ball shaped hair." A stranger answered. I moved closer to take a look and sure enough there was a slime villain that was holding onto a short kid with grape like hair. Looking around there were no heroes here yet. I was about to run in to try to save him, when Kamui Woods showed up and grabbed the kid with the wood extending from his arms. Seeing as the kid was safe and a hero was here I stopped worrying as much. Then out of nowhere All Might landed in front of the villain and said.
"Don't worry. Why? Because I am here!"And with one punch he splattered the villain on the wall.
"So cool." I say "too bad I won't be able to get his autograph since there is so many people" I lament as I start heading home again.

I was close to the door when I noticed something was wrong. The door was not closed for some reason and I was hearing a lot of noise from inside the apartment. Quietly peeking around the door the first thing I noticed that the apartment was a mess. Then I saw 3 men looking around, probably for something to steal. I saw some small movement close to one of them turning to what was moving. I was horrified to see that I was my mom with what looked like knife punctures on her back. Before I even realized what I was doing I rushed in, picked up a knife and stabbed one of the men that had his back turned to me as he fell with thud to the floor the other two men turned to me. With a furious scream one of them yelled "you little shit I am going to kill you for doing that."
He then proceeded to turn his fingers into knives and rush me. With speed I was sure I did not have before I dodged and stabbed him in the side with the knife I had. Showing he had more experience fighting he quickly turned around and slashed catching me in the arm but before he could react I thrust my knife in his chest. I turned around to the last guy only to be met with a punch to the stomach. Feeling the force behind the punch I quickly knew that he had a strength enhancing quirk but oddly enough I did not feel as strong as it looked it would be. Getting up quickly I again dodge to the side as he came barreling towards me. I was about to stab him. He moved to the side and knocked the knife out of my hand without even thinking I punched him in the temple with my other hand as hard as I could. When I first connected I felt a snap and he fell to the floor. After I finally calmed down I started to freak out since I realized that I had just killed three people. I quickly called the police and explained what had happened while I was in shock about what happened. They told me they were sending people over to check out the place and get my mom to the hospital. When they hung up I looked down to my injuries only to see them slowly healing confused since my quirk was night vision. I went over my fight and realized that things seemed weird during it. When I stabbed the first person I felt faster then after I stabbed the second man I had felt stronger and when I hit the guy in the head I stopped feeling as hard as before. 'Does my quirk have a hidden effect? Maybe winning the fight will make me stronger? No I can't be that I am sure I have beat someone before in a fight. Maybe killing gives me strength. I am pretty sure these guys are dead and it was after they died that I felt stronger.' I was thinking of this when the police and ambulance arrived. Knocking on the open door a police officer looked in and saw the mess. Seeing me standing there he said " Midoriya Izuku?"
"Yes that me." I answered
Nodding his head he says "Okay you are going to have to come with me so I can get your statement about what happened here."
"Okay" I say as he leads me to the police car which will take me to the station to get my statement. I get in and start thinking about what my quirk actually is on my way to the station.
