" I didn't think you would be back here!" Jasiri said excitedly, still standing on the rocks.

" I didn't mean to find you here actually," Janja responded with his ears flat.

Jasiri suddenly flattened her ears as well."Oh…"

" Yeah…" An awkward silence came between the two. Janja looked down and shifted his paws a bit. " Well, maybe I should-"

" Why didn't you come back Janja?" Jasiri asked before Janja could finish. " Did I make you uncomfortable?"

" No! You didn't! Why would you think that?" Janja exclaimed.

Jasiri perked up in surprise. " Then why didn't you come back?"

Janja's neck fur bristled and his eyes widened. " I-I-I-I di- I-" Janja paused for a moment to. " I needed to do what was best for my clan, and that meant that I couldn't see you."

Jasiri's ears flattened again and her fur started to bristle. " Why?"

" Scar would kill me and my clan if he found out that I was in-" Janja grunted for a second to correct himself. " -That I was hanging out with you behind his back."

" But if you and your clan join my clan, then we could defeat Scar! He wouldn't be a problem!"

Janja started to tense up a lot more with his heart pounding in guilt." If I joined you, Scar's army would target us a lot more than he does now! Besides he promised the Pridelands to us hyenas so we could eat whatever we want!"

Janja's tension rubbed off on Jasiri." For what? Listen to yourself Janja! Scar promised hyenas the Pridelands years ago and do you know what happened?! Do you even know the whole story?!"

" The hyenas got what they wanted until Simba kicked them out!"

" They destroyed the Pridelands! They didn't have any food by the time Simba came to defeat Scar!"

" Why didn't Simba help us hyenas then? Huh? Most of the hyenas were dead from our clan! Why couldn't he help the last of our clan? Why couldn't he help those innocent cubs that were hungry in the Outlands alone with very few incapable hyenas? Why did he and his son get me to the point where I had to get Scar back?"

Jasiri paused for a moment as Janja panted with his eyes furrowed. She felt a pang of sympathy in her heart as she started to calm down. " You felt like you needed to get Scar because you needed help to get food? Is this all a cry for help?"

" I don't need help now! I just need to get food for my hyenas! Scar is just leads me in the right direction!"

" I could help you instead. Remember I got you and your clan food last time we met up? I bet that's more than what Scar gave you in months. You're still living off the same amount of food and your clan is still hungry."

Janja heisatited to say another word for a moment. Jasiri approached from the rocks she was on. " Listen Janja. If you come with me, you won't have the problems you have now. I can teach you about the circle of life, and you and your hyenas will be considered one of Hyena Resistance. You will be fed and happy. And we will defeat Scar. I really do promise you this."

" Why help me? What do you get out of it?"

Jasiri got even closer to Janja for a moment. They were nearly nose to nose, Jasiri with a serious face, looking deeply into Janja's started getting tense. Jasiri furrowed her brows in sudden disappointment. " I get to help a few friends." Jasiri backed up by a few steps. " I wouldn't take advantage of you."

Janja sighed. " You know that I brought Scar back, and that I don't even know how to get my clan up to health. And you want to help me? Why are you so determined to help? I'm a villain to your allies. I don't think like you."

" I care about other hyenas Janja. And I know that there is a part of you that wants to come out but you're too afraid to let it."

Janja raised a brow. " A part of me that wants to come out?"

" The same part of you that comforted me when I told you about my mother. The same part of you that was open to looking outside of your stomach. The part that started to smile and have fun. That's a part of you that you seem to bury but I think if you brought him out more, I think you wouldn't need Scar and you could lead your clan in the right direction."

Janja suddenly felt a little hotter than usual as he started thinking about those memories. His heart started to flutter for the first time in a while. His neck fur started to bristle excitedly. He looked down for a moment. Not this again.

Jasiri looked at Janja with her head cocked to the side. " Is there something else wrong?"

" I-I don't know honestly," Janja sighed for a moment. " It's just that… after what you said, I felt … weird I guess."

" I'm sorry if I made you uncomfortable…"

" You didn't. It's just there's a weird feeling I get with you around and I don't really know-" He stopped his sentence as he faced towards the ground. I think I knew the whole time.

Janja looked back up at Jasiri. He stayed silent for a moment, still looking at her. " I think I need to go." He turned and walked away from Jasiri.

" Janja! Wait!" Jasiri called after him, but he kept going as he started to feel guilty.

As he disappeared,a creature peeked out from the cliffs above. He was bending down and panting in surprise. It was Kion. It was Janja the whole time?
