Tenchi: I wouldn't say Harry loves the Jacobs, he's thankful they helped him but they were more guardians then family to him. Dumbledore will eventually figure that out about Harry but not for a bit. He won't turn Sirius against Dumbledore per say but since Sirius isn't running form the law he won't be as reliant on Dumbledore. Remus will show up sooner than canon but not right away.

Disclaimer: I do not own Harry Potter.

Harry rubbed his eyes and let out a small groan, he was tucked back in one of the corners of the library so he could work on the puzzle of the magical mirror. The problem was mirrors seemed to be an extremely versatile object to enchant and spell, the amount of books on the subject was staggering. Even Tom's memories didn't have a clear answer and were mainly of the same as the books. Harry hadn't revisited the room but he was confident he had the wording correct, it was too risky to go back since he was sure Dumbledore was paying more attention now. He also had to deal with the fact Sirius wanted to meet with him, he was staying with the Tonks currently and Andromeda had written him a letter, he still wasn't sure how he was going to handle the man.

"Seems like a lot of books even for a Ravenclaw." Harry turned and saw the twins walking over to him.

"How can I help you gentlemen?" Harry asked as they began looking over the table, he wasn't worried about them seeing anything because it would be meaningless to them.

"We came to talk about the next Quidditch." George, or who Harry believed to be George said.

"Whats all this then?" Fred asked as he picked up a piece of parchment, looking it over it quickly. "Oi look at this." He said to George and passed the parchment.

George took it and gave it a read before chuckling. "Wasting your time Harry." He put the paper down. "The Professors have a spell for that."

"What are you talking about?" Harry asked confused.

Fred and George shared and look and George laid the paper down. "Writing backwards." He tapped the words of the parchment. "We tried that in our first year but come to find out Professors know a charm to flip them so it was a flop."

"First time they got the best of us but we showed them eh?" Fred said with a grin that George shared.

Harry pulled the parchment to him and grabbed a quill, with the new information the words were suddenly obvious. "I show not your face but your heart's desire, of course." Harry thought. "That explains my parents and Voldemorts head." Harry looked up at the twins. "Thank you gentlemen."

"What's this for anyway?" Fred asked.

"Something my parents left me." Harry replied, figuring less people would ask or mention it if they thought it was true. The twins shared a look and George gave an awkward cough.

"Well glad we could help." George said. "Anyway with us being on the Gryffindor team we figured maybe we could place a little bet ourselves."

"As long as it's not against your team I see no problem." Harry answered. "But if I believe you are playing at anything but your best I will think your attempting to take a dive and act accordingly."

"You believe we would actually lose on purpose?" Fred asked in mock horror.

"The nerve of some people." George said. "Put us down for five sickles each."

"Very well." Harry replied. "Just don't think I'll forgive the debt because you work for me."

"Wouldn't dream of it." Fred said.

"Right our dreams consist mostly of lovely woman in small clothing." George said with a wink.

"Don't think the young Lord would look good in anything like that dear brother." Fred cut in, making both chuckle as they turned to leave.

Harry sighed and shook his head as they left, despite the interruption he now had a solid lead on what that mirror was. Of course he couldn't see a reason to hide this mirror, sure it might be valuable but he doubted enough to warrant the amount of protection Dumbledore had in place. "But if I continue to pry I just might get caught up in Dumbledore's game. At the very least I will bring his attention to me." Harry drummed his fingers on the table, for now he decided to sit back and wait. If further research showed the mirror to be sought after enough he could turn a nice profit from selling the location and ways to get through the security.

Andromeda sighed as she looked up from her paper, Sirius was sitting in a chair that had a view of the window and fireplace. Every day since he had sent a letter to Harry he sat and waited for a reply, it was not healthy but she also didn't have the heart to get him to stop. She and Ted had been more than happy to offer him a place to stay when Dumbledore had flooed and she was enjoying getting reacquainted with Sirius, the war had kept them from seeing each other. A tap on the window and the sound of scurrying grabbed her attention.

"He wrote back!" Sirius yelled in victory as he held up a letter, Andromeda spotted a snow white owl sitting in the window sill.

"What did he say?" Andromeda asked as she walked over to him, Sirius ripped open the letter and quickly read it.

"He wants to meet in Hogsmeade Saturday." Sirius said with a smile.

"Well good." Andromeda replied. "See and you thought he didn't want to see you."

"I should get him some gifts." Sirius said quickly. "To make up for not being there right?" He looked at Andromeda. "OH! I can get him a broom, kids love booms."

"Hold it." Andromeda said before Sirius could run over to the floo. "You don't need to go gift crazy, I highly doubt Harry cares about some gifts from you right now."

"Hoo." Hedwig chirped and bobbed her head in agreement, earning a surprised look from the two Blacks.

"Well what kind of godfather misses birthdays and Christmas?" Sirius said, though he was eyeing Hedwig.

"The wrongfully imprisoned ones." Andromeda replied dryly. "Look Harry isn't like most children, don't go in thinking gifts will make everything right."

Sirius sighed. "Well what else am I supposed to do?" This whole mess was tougher then he thought it would be.

Andromeda let out a sigh and shook her head. "You're so hopeless." Sirius frowned. "Just go, be yourself…actually be a responsible adult."

"Oi!" Sirius said.

"And answer any questions he has while talking about his life." Andromeda finished. "That is the best way to start."

"Fine." Sirius replied. "Maybe he'll like to hear about the glory days of the Marauders." He mused as he started writing his letter.

"Doubtful." Andromeda thought but didn't want Sirius freaking out again so she held her tongue.

Sirius nursed his butterbeer as he watched the door, doing his best to ignore the few people in the room with him. One or two had recognized him and whispered to each other but everyone else seemed fine with minding their own business, of course Madam Rosmerta gave him a big hug when he showed up. Sirius ran a hand through his hair and let out a sigh, he had spent the past few days going over everything he thought Harry might want to know or ask about. He did feel worried when he realized he couldn't tell Harry a lot about Lily, while they did become good friends it was a few years after Hogwarts. She and him never really got along, mostly because of his tendency to shag or attempt to shag all her friends. Sirius snapped out of his thoughts when he heard the door open and saw Harry walk in, his pulse quickened as he spotted him and walked towards him.

"Hello Sirius." Harry said as he arrived at the table, he figured the man wouldn't care about formal greetings.

"Harry." Sirius replied quietly, everything he had been planning to say fled from his mind as he stared at his godson. "He really does have Lily's eyes, but looks so much like Prongs." Sirius shook his head and focused back on Harry. "It's good to see you again."

Harry nodded and took a seat. "I hope your recovering okay."

"I am." Sirius replied as he sat down. "The Ministry set me up with the best Doctors at St. Mungo's, its annoying work but it has helped."

"Well that's good." Harry said and then reached into his pocket. "I wasn't sure if you wanted to but if you feel like going home here." Harry handed him a folded piece of parchment.

Sirius took it and looked inside to see the Black Family home address, suddenly all the memories of the house came back to him. "Thanks." Sirius said and took a drink. "I don't really want to but I think I'll move back for a bit, until somethings are taken care of."

Harry nodded. "I'm sure Kreacher and Lollie will like having someone there."

"Lollie maybe but I doubt Kreacher will like me back." Sirius replied. "But enough of that, how do you like Hogwarts?"

"It's nice." Harry replied. "Some of the staff could use a bit of changing but other than that I enjoy it."

"Speaking of changing staff." Sirius said with a grin. "Heard what you did to old Snivellous, bravo."

Harry shrugged. "I think Snape is a brilliant Potions Master." Sirius snorted. "But as a Professor he was lacking."

"I'm sure." Sirius replied sarcastically. "Anyway Ravenclaw huh?" He nodded. "While I'm sure they would have wanted you to be a Gryffindor I think they would be happy with Ravenclaw." After he said it Sirius realized how it sounded and mental cursed himself.

"I enjoy it." Harry answered, not really caring about what Sirius said. "Everyone is good about letting you do your own thing but it's easy to find help when you need it." Not that Harry needed help because of Tom's memories.

"Good, so what do you do for fun?" Sirius asked. "Quidditch? You know your dad was a brilliant chaser."

"I do enjoy flying but not a big fan of playing Quidditch." Sirius frowned. "I assume the Headmaster told you about my betting."

Sirius grinned. "He did and I must say it is impressive." He chuckled. "Don't suppose you can take bets outside of school?"

"Actually." Harry said. "I plan on opening a pub that will also take bets, the Goblins are currently working on finding me a space in Diagon Alley."

"Really?" Sirius said with a bit of surprise. "It would definitely be popular and one of a kind." The man was impressed by Harry's business abilities, when he was eleven he never would have dreamed something like that up.

"What do you plan to do once you've been cleared to work?" Harry asked, Sirius scratched his beard.

"Haven't really thought about it." He leaned back and crossed his arms. "I mean I was an Auror but when I was accused everyone turned their backs on me so I don't know if I could go back to that."

Harry nodded, he understood that reasoning. "Well if I get this idea up and running I could use someone to run it, maybe even help get it started."

Sirius's eyebrows shot up, this was good on multiple levels the first being it would bring him and Harry a bit closer. Two he would have a job, on that might be really enjoyable seeing as he would be around Quidditch all day. He would need to learn how the whole gambling aspect worked but he doubted it was that hard. "That sounds great." He said with a smile.

"Like I said I'm still working somethings out but maybe you can help out." Harry said. "I can send you all the information and ideas I have."

"I'd be happy to help out." Sirius replied honestly, he saw this as the best way to get close to Harry. "Well, what else do you enjoy doing?" He asked, not knowing what else to talk about.

Harry walked back into his room and tossed his robe over the desk chair, his meeting with Sirius went relatively well in his opinion. They talk a bit about his parents, some about Sirius's time in school and a bit about his childhood. Harry enjoyed it somewhat but mostly he was happy with the response to his suggestion about Sirius working for him. It would get the man off his back and he wouldn't have to worry about getting ripped off or stolen from with Sirius in charge. Plus he knew the man was a bit of a party back in the day and after years in prison he would be the life of the party, giving the pub a good reputation for fun.

Pushing that out of his mind Harry focused back on the bigger issue, the mirror and the reason it is so well guarded. He could not for the life of him figure out what great purpose the mirror could hold. He hadn't found anything to suggest it was a priceless artifact or valuable enough to warrant the security it had.

"Maybe Hagrid knows more." Harry mused, deciding to visit the man tomorrow Harry started getting ready for bed.

Walking to Hagrid's hut Harry noticed the was a large amount of smoke coming out of the chimney, while not to odd the day wasn't that cold so he wondered why Hagrid needed such a fire. Knocking on the door Harry heard Fang barking and things falling to the ground.

"One second!" Hagids voice boomed out. "Back Fang, back!" The door cracked open and one of his eyes was the only thing visible. "Llo Arry, nows not the best time."

Harry cocked an eyebrow. "Is something wrong Hagrid?"

"Course not." Hagrid said quickly. "Just busy is all."

"Why do you have it so hot in there?" Harry asked as he felt the heat from the door crack hit him.

"Got a bit of a chill s'all." Hagrid answered. "Dang it Fang back." Harry saw the massive dog attempt to get the door open, when he did Harry noticed something.

"Hagrid what is that in the fireplace?" Harry asked though he had an idea.

The giant man gulped. "Right, inside quick with ya." Hagrid opened the door and pulled Harry in before slamming it shut. The inside of the hut was even hotter than he assumed, Fang was panting like crazy as he rubbed against Harry. Inside he had a better view of the fire and saw he was correct, inside the fireplace was a large black egg.

"Hagrid please tell me that's not what I think it is." Harry said.

"It's a dragon egg." Hagrid said proudly with a large smile. "Going to raise it meself."

Harry sighed and shook his head. "Hagrid that is the worst idea I've ever heard."

"S'not." Hagrid snapped. "I've read up on 'em, got all the things I'll need right here."

"First off I do not think you are incapable, far from it I'm sure you could raise a dragon under proper conditions." Harry said making Hagrid pause. "You live in a wooden hut, meaning if the dragon hatches and starts spraying fire your hose is gone." Hagrid started to speak but Harry held up a hand to stop him. "Also remember it is illegal to raise a dragon without the proper permits, so when people find out you will go to jail."

Hagrid frowned. "But I can do it, no one'll get hurt."

"Hagrid it's the law." Harry shook his head. "Look does Dumbledore know about this?" Hagrid shook his head. "Well maybe you should tell him, who knows maybe he can pull some strings for you and you'll be able to keep it."

"Well.." Hagrid said and scratched his beard before looking over at the egg. "Eadmaster does know a lot of people."

"It's the best thing Hagrid, this way the dragon gets cared for, you don't get arrested and Dumbledore doesn't have to explain why a dragon was loose on the grounds." Hagrid thought about what Harry said and finally sighed.

"All right." The man said in defeat, he didn't want to get Dumbledore in trouble.

"Good." Harry said with a nod. "Where did you get a dragon egg anyway?" He asked in afterthought, even if Hagrid knew where to get one a dragon egg was expensive.

"Was down at the Hogshead and won it off a chappie." Hagrid answered, that sent an alarm off in Harry's mind.

"Who carries around a dragon egg? Better yet just happens to stumble on a person who would want one." Harry thought, despite their uses dragons were not coveted creatures and few, especially in the U.K where it's illegal to have one, would want them. "Did you talk about anything?"

"Couple'll things." Hagrid replied and stroked his beard in thought. "Oh talked bout Fluffy, real interested in exotic creatures he was."

Harry nodded. "Well I'll leave you to get this all taken care of but if I find out you haven't told the Headmaster by next weekend I will tell him."

"I'll do it right away." Hagrid said, Harry nodded again and then turned to leave. His mind was already racing trying to figure out who could be after the mirror.

"Even if they know how to get past one part of the maze how are they going to get into the school and to the third floor unnoticed?" Harry thought as he walked across the yard. Things were happening and all of it revolved around the mirror. "Well I guess there's only one real option then."

Albus stood in the final chamber room, he had started checking it every day since the second break in, confused and worried. Where the Mirror of Erised should have been was nothing, the mirror had been stolen. He couldn't believe this scenario hadn't played through his mind, he assumed they would be trapped by what they saw in the mirror and would be here forever. Of course when he first discovered the mirror was gone he rushed back to check on Quirrell but the painting reported him in his class teaching, if he had the mirror he would have run. So now he had no idea where the mirror was, he was going to need to talk to Harry and see if te boy had taken it. "Perhaps he saw something and was so entranced by it he took the mirror." It was his best theory he had but again the paintings reported Harry was in his classes, if he truly was under the mirrors enchantment he wouldn't want to leave it. Sighing he made his way to his office, he would send an elf to get the young Lord after his class let out. "Of course I cannot read his thoughts so this will be extremely difficult."
