Hazel followed the twins back to the chimney where they used the floo powder network to go back to the burrow. Seeing Cedric made her wonder: Was it just those two she could see? When she got back, she rushed to her room and shut the door. Closing her eyes, she focused on the picture of her mother. If she could do this, a woman she barely knew, she could see anyone.

"You wanted to see me?" The gorgeous red-head smiled, her French accent quite strong when she spoke. Hazel could barely believe it.

"Mum?"

"I'm so proud of you, mon chien ." Hazel's grin was extremely large. She couldn't contain her joy. But that last part confused her.

"Chien?"

"Puppy." Hazel laughed.

Celine couldn't stop looking at her beautiful daughter, who was finally seeing her too. She was finally getting the thing she had always wanted. To meet her beautiful Arianna for the first time since she was a baby. Everything she had wanted for her baby girl had been snatched from her. And their family, divided.

"It's good to finally meet you, Arianna." Celine told her daughter.

"You too, mum." Hazel grinned.

Through the door, crashed Lupin. "Remus!" Hazel scolded, looking at her mother and then back at him. "It's okay, bebe." She was right. He already knew, so why bother hiding it.

"I'm kinda mid-conversation with my mother right now." She stated awkwardly.

Lupin looked stunned. "You can see her?" Hazel nodded and took his hand.

Celine smiled at one of her old friends, and stood to greet him. "Remus. It has been such a long time since I have seen you." She told him.

Lupin continued staring. "How is this possible?" He turned to Hazel.

"I thought about her, and found her picture to make sure I was grabbing the right ghost."

"This is... You're power is stronger than I thought."

Hazel raised an eyebrow. "What d'you mean?"

Celine answered. "He means, you have the ability to pull people who you have no real memories of from the abyss to see them. Not just your father and your friend." How did she know?

"We are all over here together, my dear. Ghosts talk." At least her parents were together on the other side. That made her happy to know they had each other.

"You could see anyone." Lupin said. "You're like..." He stopped himself.

"The resurrection stone." Hazel finished. "But what is that?"

Celine and Remus sat with Hazel and explained. "It was created by a powerful wizard. It was used to see anyone who had been lost to you. And all you had to do was hold it I your hand, turn it thrice, and they would appear." Hazel didn't like where this was going. "The wizards had to scatter the other objects they made, including the stone. They were too powerful for someone to possess."

"And now I am the human version of that very dangerous rock." Hazel stated, suddenly nauseous.

Celine nodded. "And no one must know. Only Remus, and the dead. If anyone else knew, they would take advantage of you."

"But how powerful does that make me?" Hazel asked.

"You could, in time, be able to see at least 10 ghosts at once."

"Like... Like a mediator?" Lupin just nodded.

This was bad. If anyone found out, who knows what they'd do to Hazel just to get what they wanted from her. There was nothing she could do. She was 100% alone in this. And even though Remus knew, he would be just like everyone else. He would use her. She was a freak of nature. And there was no way to fix her.

"So what do we do?" She asked.

"We do nothing. Say nothing. Now that I know how powerful you are, I know you were right to keep it a secret. If you were to be discovered, who knows what they'd do to you?"

Hazel spent the night tossing and turning. Her dreams were plagued with ghosts and people grabbing her to see their loved ones. She knew how desperate people could be. Hazel sat up, panicked and alone. Two figures glowed in the darkness surrounding her. They sat either side of her bed. "It'll be okay." Her father soothed her. Her mother smiled. Hazel began drifting off again, comforted by their presence.

When she woke the next morning, she half remembered the occurance and realised she could see both of her parents, at the same time. She closed her eyes and concentrated. When she opened them, they were both sat there.

"Tell me how you met." She ordered.

Celine began. "I was working over here at the ministry, in their Department of International Magical Communications. Your father had come in with James and Remus, to 'look around.'"

"We were curious. If anyone could get past the guards, it was us."

"Anyway, they had made it to my floor, and your father was the distraction for their little trio. He came over to me and began flirting, quite awfully at that."

"Hey!" Sirius complained. "You're very intimidating."

Celine grinned. "Not only did I catch him out, but I asked if he thought beautiful French women such as myself were so stupid that they couldn't tell they were invading the Ministry like a band of apes."

Hazel smiled and listened to the two of them arguing about the specifics of the meeting. But she began feeling tired from using so much magic at once. One ghost she could handle. Two was a struggle. They both stopped arguing.

"Are you alright?" Sirius asked. Hazel nodded, beginning to feel faint.

"You have to send us back, bebe." Celine explained. Hazel shook her head.

Sirius sat beside her. "You're not strong enough to see both of us."

Finally, Hazel sent them both away. Weight lifted from her shoulders as she felt her power slowly returning. Remus was right though. In time, she would be powerful enough to keep them both there. And to see even more.

That scared her.
