Janja felt his heart drop like a block of metal. His eyes widened. His breaths started to quiver. His anxious smile faded from his mouth as Scar's order settled in with him. I promised that I couldn't attempt to kill her again…

Scar's smug look was replaced by a look of suspicion as raised a brow. " Is there something wrong Janja?"

" N-no! Yeah, we will get rid of Jasiri and her clan!"

" Good, because you are going to lead this attack," Scar mentioned with a growing smirk. " Tomorrow."

Janja gulped and his feet started to shift slightly while his body started shaking. " Yeah...Good…"

Janja arrived back to his clan with his knees buckling and his voice whimpering. He looked up to see his clan looking at him concerned.

" What happened?" Nne asked from the crowd as he saw Janja's concerning behavior.

Janja started panting, feeling as if he hadn't been breathing in the first place. " We… we need to kill Jasiri. We need to kill Jasiri if we want to stay with Scar."

All the hyenas suddenly seemed to understand his emotions, flattening their ears and whispering voices of concern. Janja rushed over to his den and stayed inside pacing back and forth.

With his heart in his throat, he started feeling more and more anxious and afraid. Not really afraid for himself but for Jasiri. What if it really had to come down to Jasiri's death?"

Nne came into his den with Tano, Cheezi and Chungu close behind. " You know I can't turn back from this decision."

" I know. I can't turn back. Especially if we succeed. I want to choose Scar because of the pridelands and whatever but I can't!"

" But you can. You have to do what's best-"

"Nne! I can't choose Scar! I just can't do it! You already know I love Jasiri! I can't kill her!"

" But the clan-"

" Nne, if saving Jasiri is not what's best for the clan, I'll still do it." Janja panted, looking past Nne to the outside of his den. His eyes slightly shift to the right towards the direction of Jasiri's clan. " I need to warn Jasiri!"

" Janja! You need to be calm!"

" No Nne! I need to tell her!" Janja ran to exit his den but he was blocked by Nne.

" I'm not saying your decision is wrong but you need to be calm to make a rational decision," Nne pointed out, causing Janja to settle back a bit.

Janja took a deep breath before pausing, thinking over his decision. After a moment, Janja looked directly at Nne. " I need to tell Jasiri."

Nne sighed and stepped aside for Janja to go past him. Janja was surprised at the sudden gesture and Janja bolted past him to head towards Jasiri's territory. Janja ran as fast he could to reach her territory. Nne looked at him as he ran off, shaking his head. I just hope this time he is certain he made the right choice.

Janja arrived outside of Jasiri's territory, panting from running. He stopped there waiting. About to go on to warn her about Scar's plan. Breaking away from Scar and backing away from getting the Pridelands completely.

Janja stood for only a moment longer, thinking about this decision. If I go, I might get killed by Scar's army. But it's better for my clan, because maybe they can be happy and healthy. I mean, Jasiri would understand.

Janja sighed and walked past Jasiri's border. Here goes nothing. Janja ran off to see Jasiri in her own territory. He left, trying to find her within her territory.

As he walked through her territory, he sniffed around to see if she was nearby. He kept sniffing until he caught her scent nearby. Janja started running towards her scent with his heart started to pound again. As he ran, he turned a corner and came face to face with Jasiri.

" Jasiri." Janja started off saying.

Janja noticed Jasiri brighten up as they came face to face. Jasiri's mouth curled up into a smile. " Janja! What are you doing here?" Jasiri exclaimed.

" I needed to tell you something," Janja said seriously. " And I'm risking my life telling you this."

Jasiri's brows furrowed in concern. " What is it?"

" Scar is ordering a new plan to kill you and your clan tomorrow," Janja said. " He wants me to lead the attack, but I don't want to follow Scar anymore. I didn't know what to do so I came to you."

Jasiri shook her head in confusion. " Whoa! You don't want to follow Scar? You were just backing him the last time we spoke!"

" I know but I came to a realization that made me change my decision." Janja broke eye contact with Jasiri and looked downwards. " I realized I couldn't try to kill you again."

Jasiri cocked her head to the side with a look of wonder. " And why is that?"

Janja paused with his skin feeling hot and his body shaking a bit. Janja's eyes started to look everywhere but into Jasiri's eyes. His ears flattened in embarrassment and his heart started to flutter. " I-I-I just-" He stopped talking but then tried to manage words out again. " It's… Because I guess don't have the heart to do it."

Jasiri's expression brightened once again and her smile widened. " I'm glad you realized that."

Janja finally looked directly at Jasiri. Seeing Jasiri smile suddenly made Janja smile as well. His ears perked up a bit.

" That was very brave of you to do Janja," Jasiri pointed out. " And I thank you for that."

This made Janja's heart flutter even more and his smile started to quizer a little. But Jasiri continued. " But what will you do now that you're breaking away from Scar? Does this mean you want to join my clan?"

Janja's nervousness caught up with him as he started stammering. " Well i- uh -well if -you- uh-"

Jasiri giggled, interrupting Janja failed attempt to respond. " You don't have to tell me now if you're that tongue tied!"

Janja chuckled awkwardly as he shyly looked to the side for a moment before looking back at Jasiri.

Jasiri's eyes shifted to the side a bit and went back to Janja. " Do you think you are willing to learn about the circle of life now?"

" Of course," Janja said almost immediately. " I want to know all about it now."

Jasiri's head jolted up in joy. She gave an open smile with her eyes sparking in delight. " Then we should go right away! Come on!"

She leaped to past Janja and turned back with her smile still wide. She giggled excitedly as she turned the corner of a cliff. Janja started running after her as she continued on her way. " Wait up Jasiri!"
