" Kion?" Jasiri came out from her hiding spot in a big crack after a long while, along with her clan. She looked over to the other cliff across from her. " Janja should be here by now." Kion and his guard came out from their hole in the cliff to face Jasiri.
" Maybe he's just a bit delayed," Kion suggested.
" Perhaps, but I have a bad feeling.." Jasiri started to tense up as she thought more and more about the possibilities. Her ears laid flat.
Kion looked away from Jasiri for a moment with his ears flattened as well. Kion seemed to be thinking as a small frown formed on his face. " It is a bit odd. And this is a dangerous situation."
" What if Scar found out too early?" Jasiri whimpered.
" Oh, if Scar found out," Bunga said behind Kion with his usual smirk. " Janja's definitely dead by now." Jasiri and Kion both looked at Bunga with annoyed pouts. But despite that, Bunga continued. " He must be like super dead by now. There's no way he would survive. Scar's army is probably-"
Bunga was cut off with Fuli's tail as she started to walk up next to Kion. " Bunga! You're not helping!"
Jasiri looked at Bunga for a second more before shaking her head,and turning back to Kion. " We need to check up on him!"
Kion looked to Ono. " Ono?"
" Affirmnative!" Ono said as his brows furrowed and he flew up into the sky.
Jasiri started to feel her heart pounding and her paws shift slightly. What am I going to do if he's dead. The feeling only got worse as she heard Ono from above.
" Hapana!" Ono cried. Jasiri jolted her head upward to face him as Ono flew back towards Kion. " Janja's being attacked by the army! And it doesn't look very good ethier! "
" We need to go now!" Jasiri exclaimed, before turning back to her clan, giving them narrowed eyes and pointed her ears towards the way of the volcano. Then she sprinted away with her clan behind her and the Lion Guard rushing closely behind.
As Jasiri ran, she could feel her heart pounding and pounding. Her heart was sinking and sinking, more and more. She dreaded what she could see when she got there.
I better not be too late.
Janja looked up to the army that surrounded him as he collapsed to the ground. He saw as the surrounding members of the army panted as blood dripped from their jaws and their claws. Blood also poured from wounds that Janja made on his enemies. Janja could taste their blood his mouth as well.
As a lone hyena, Janja was no match for a whole army, but determination left the rest of the army in pain as well. But even then, Janja had multiple wounds on his body. His body was hit with a growing pain as his body started to give in.
As soon as his body hit the floor, Kiburi placed a foot on his head. Janja continued to pant as Kiburi pressed his foot against his head harder on his head.
Even then, Janja continued to growl at the army as they started to smirk.
Scar laughed from behind. " So you still don't need me?" Scar mocked.
" No I don't," Janja whispered with a small smirk. " Like I said, I'd rather die than join you again."
Ushari, who was in the back of the cave observing, had smirked and chuckled. " Well I guess this is your lucky day."
" You're too weak to fight anymore Janja," Scar said. " There's no way you can make it out alive. "
" Then so be it," Janja replied. The smirk on his face quivered. " I'm not surrendering again."
Kiburi's claws started to dig into Janja's head. " You'll have to surrender, one way or another."
" Just because you got me down, doesn't mean I'll ever surrender," Janja growled.
" And he won't need to!" Everyone looked behind them only to be surprised by a familiar hyena running through the army surrounding Janja and within seconds the hyena had collided with Kiburi and lifted him off Janja. Janja looked behind his shoulder to see who it was. It was no other than Jasiri, who had Kiburi pinned on his back.
" No one messes with any ally of mine," Jasiri snarled. " Especially if we're more than that."
" Scar's army! Get rid of them all!" Scar roared. He narrowed his eyes at Jasiri as she snapped at Kiburi below her.
Janja turned back to what was in front of him and saw the Lion Guard and Jasiri's clan fighting with the army. Some of the army members had started to fight off the ledge and where there was flat ground. Some members were still on the ledge.
Janja attempted to get on his paws, still staggering as he came up. But as he did, he got knocked down by one of the army members and got pinned on his flank. He looked up to see Reirei looking down with a smirk. " Just because your precious girlfriend is here, doesn't mean you're making it out alive."
Just then, Reirei got knocked over from behind. She flipped over Janja and fell on her belly on the other side of Janja. Janja looked over to see what happened to Reirei before turning back to see it was Kion that knocked her over. " Trust me, it's not just Jasiri you have to worry about," Kion snarled.
Janja gave out a small chuckle as Reirei gaped for a moment. Sure glad to have Kion on my side now.
Kion went over Janja to face Reirei who started to snarl back at him. " You won't win this time Kion!"
Kion pinned Reirei after he leaped on her. As that was happening, Madoa ran past both Kion and Reirei and went over to Jasiri, who was pinning Kiburi by his back and head again after she had bit multiple times on his body. Jasiri was growling at Kiburi as he struggled. " I will teach to never mess with Janja again!"
" Trust me, you won't have to worry about him, once I've snapped his neck in half!"
" Jasiri!" Madoa exclaimed. " I'll take care of Kiburi!" Jasiri looked up with her paws still pinning Kiburi as Madoa continued. " Janja is going to die if no one defends him. He can't fight right now."
Jasiri took a quick glance at Janja, who was attempting to stand again, before jumping off of Kiburi and rushing over to him. As she ran over to him, she heard Scar roar. " Make sure Janja doesn't get out alive!"
Some of the crocodiles and jackals who weren't fighting any of the Lion Guard or the resistance turned to Janja, but before anyone else could make it to him first, Jasiri jumped in front of him. As the enemies approached Jasiri snarled. " No one is getting to Janja!"
" Shut up, hyena," one jackal snarled. He growled and attempted to bite her but that ended as Jasiri slammed his face with her paw, making the jackal stagger back a bit. From her other side approached to bite her leg but she was able to pounce on it's head, pinning it down.
Janja observed Jasiri as she continued and Janja continued to attempt to stand steadily. A proud smile came on his face. That's why I love her.
" Just get Janja already! It's not that hard, you cowards!" Scar snapped.
Just as Scar was done snapping, Ono shouted from above. " We've got more back up!"
Janja could see from the entrance that there was a familiar group of hyenas racing into battle. My boys! They're here!
Janja could see some of his clan members approaching him. Specifically, he saw Cheezi and Chungu coming up first. They disregarded the crocodiles and jackals attempting to go past Jasiri who was pouncing from one target to the next. They went to Janja with a smile on their faces.
"You're alive!" Chungu exclaimed as he rubbed his head on Janja's neck.
" Yeah, barely…" Janja muttered.
" It's okay Janja!" Cheezi exclaimed. He went to nuzzle him on the other side of his neck when he seemed to have noticed some of the wounds. " Are you okay?"
" Depends on the amount of attacks I'm going to get." Janja whispered. " Maybe make yourselves useful by fighting the army, while I try to as well."
" Yeah, right!" Cheezi said and turned to the attacking crocodiles and jackals with a snarl and Chungu did it as well. Jasiri came back to her original spot in front of Janja. Chungu and Cheezi moved beside her with Chungu on her right and Cheezi on her left, snarling with her.
Scar growled from behind him. " Get him! Get Jasiri as well!"
The army members continued to snarl as they approached, and more army members started to abandon their other attacks to get to Janja. Many of them ran towards Janja direction quickly.
When they are in front of Jasiri, Cheezi and Chungu, they all growled and snapped at them ut not one had made a move before Kion came from behind, and leaped over to get in front of the three hyenas.
" Lion Guard! Hyenas! Move away from the ledge!" Kion called. Janja could see the clans and Guard members on the flat land, moving towards the edges of the cave.
" Oh! I know what happens next!" Cheezi exclaimed.
" What is it?" Chungu asked.
" The roar Chungu!"
" Ooooh…" Chungu said with his eyes wide as he got the point.
Ono from above nodded to Kion within a few moments. Janja could feel as a breeze started to come in the volcano. As he looked to Kion and saw what was going on, he failed to notice that Reirei was approaching from behind him. Janja had his back turned even as Reirei run up to him to him, making him an easy target.
Just as Kion roared at the approaching enemies and the elders appeared in the sky, Reirei leaped on Janja to pin him on his flank again. Janja grunted as he fell to the ground again, the impact of Reirei and his wounded body hitting the ground giving him a sharp pain.
Janja attempted to push Reirei off with his hind legs but it was nothing for her, as the pain from his wounds weakened his ability to do that. Reirei laughed. She placed a paw on his neck. " You're life ends now!"
Janja swapped a paw at Reirei's head with full strength, causing her to move her head to the side and to step off for a moment. As she did, Janja was able to turn from being on his back to being on his belly to snap at her.
After a moment, the roar had stopped as every army member in the way of the roar was dazed away from the ledge. Jasiri looked back to Janja as the roar had passed, only to see him snapping at Reirei. Then she felt her heartbeat quicken as she looked passed him. " Janja! Look out!"
It was too late, as Kiburi had came from behind while Janja snapped at Reirei. Kiburi quickly slammed Janja's head down so hard with his foot on his head, it made a thud. Kiburi pressed Janja's head to the ground.
But by the time he pinned him, Janja's eyes had closed and he wasn't struggling at all.
Jasiri's concern grew as her heart started to beat faster and faster.
