A few days after his clan members visited him, Janja was able to go home and help out Jasiri to make sure everything was good, which it was. The only thing left to solve was the fate of the rest of the Outlanders.

Kiburi and Reirei didn't have any leader to help them out and they were uncertain of how they would find food or what the next was for their groups. Janja, Jasiri, Kiburi and Reirei had agreed to have a meeting about the Outlands, and it was determined that Jasiri was the most worthy to lead the Outlanders, as Janja and Reirei knew Jasiri would help the Outlands tremendously and Kiburi didn't care much about it at that point.

Everything since had turned for the better, as everyone in the Outlands were well fed, and there hadn't been any major conflicts between the Outlanders. The hyenas seemed happier now that the two clans came together and had enough food to fill their hunger.

As for Janja and Jasiri, they got married a few years later and Janja helped Jasiri in her role of leadership and in her duty to protect the Outlands.

And most importantly for the two, there was a new voice that they had to wake to every morning. The new voice came from a certain somebody that would bounce around the couple while they were still asleep.

" Dad!"

" Honey, I'm still tired. Just because you're jumpy doesn't mean everyone else is."

" But dad…" The voice groaned as she dragged out the word. " I'm bored!"

" Then go back to sleep," Janja mumbled. Janja kept his eyes closed despite the voice that was calling for him, attempting to remain in his sleepworld.

But then he suddenly felt the pain of something biting his ear and pulling it. Janja screeched loud enough for the whole Outlands to hear as he snapped out of his sleep.

" Amina! Stop pulling my ear! You have teeth now!"

The small voice giggled and let Janja's ear go. Once his ear had been free from the pain, he came face to face with the biter.

The hyena cub looking back up with amber eyes, was in a playful position with her backup and her front paws out and ready to fight. The hyena cub looked a lot like her father, with the same mane, eyebrows, smirk and ears. But her coat was more Jasiri's color, with a slightly purple tint. Her eyes shaped more like her mother and she was already showing that she was going to be as strong as her mother one day.

Janja raised a brow at her. " What did your mother say about biting other clan members to get them up?"

" She said not to do it, but I needed to wake you up!" Amina yipped.

" But you should listen to your mother," Janja said. Janja slowly stood up as Amina started to leap outside of the den they were in. " Do you think you can do that when you are the leader of the Outlands?" Janja followed his daughter outside as she continued to leap towards the outdoors.

" But I'm not, so it doesn't matter!" Amina exclaimed.

Just as they were going to take one step outside, somebody familiar yelled from behind. " Amina!"

Amina paused in her stepping as she flinched at the shout. Amina's ears flattened and her eyes closed, seemingly cringing at the voice. After a second, Amina slightly opened one of her eyes to something behind Janja.

Janja looked behind him to see Jasiri was wide awake looking at Amina sternly. Her furrowed brows and her frown even scared Janja a bit.

Amina got quiet for a moment as she looked at her mother. Jasiri narrowed her eyes as Amina continued to be silent.

"Yes mom?" Amina finally said.

" Listen to your father," Jasiri responded with a very firm voice.

" Yes mom." Amina padded out of the cave as soon as she finished saying that. " Come on dad!"

" Can't you play with anyone else?" Janja asked.

" Just come on!" Amina groaned and ran into the clearing outside.

Janja turned back to Jasiri, with a raised brow and a smirk. Jasiri's stern look had softened to a face of joy, with a smile growing on her face. " She really wants to play with you."

Janja looked at Jasiri with his chest puffed up slightly in pride." Yeah, she's a daddy's girl!"

" Maybe you should go ahead before she complains again," Jasiri giggled.

" Dad!" Amina yelled from outside.

Janja turned his head to the hole that led to the outside." I'm coming, Amina! I'm just talking with your mother!" He turned back to Jasiri as he started to chuckle. "Can't these cubs just take a break?"

"If only," Jasiri said rolling her eyes with a smirk. She slowly started to stand up as she yawned. When she stood up completely, Jasiri started to walk towards the exit of the cave and Janja followed her out.

As Janja and Jasiri came out of their den, they were welcomed by the bright sun coming down upon a few of their hyenas , who were hanging outside, surrounding the waterhole. Janja saw that Cheezi and Chungu were sleeping right next to the waterhole. Nne was spotted on the opposite end of the cliffs from Janja, talking with one of the female hyenas, winking at her as the female started giggling. A group of three hyenas were by the edge of the waterhole, conversing calmly with each other. Behind them Amina was bouncing around with another cub that happened to be up, a gray spotted female cub.

Janja looked to Jasiri. " I wouldn't have thought this was possible when we were teenagers."

" I wouldn't have imagined this either," Jasiri replied. " Especially with your furry brain causing trouble in the Pridelands."

Janja pouted. " Hey!"

Jasiri started to laugh once again. " Well you admitted it yourself first!"

At that moment, their daughter noticed both of her parents were outside of the den as leaping after her friend. Amina stopped in her tracks to yell out, " Dad! Come and chase us!"

Janja's ears perked up as he faced his daughter. " Can't you just play with your friends?"

Amina pouted with her ears flat. Her friend paused as she noticed Amina's want to have her father join in and came next to Amina to pout as well.

Janja raised a brow as his smirk started to form on his face. " So you really want me to catch you guys? But you guys wouldn't be able to escape me!"

Jasiri started to chuckle as the two cubs started perking up their ears and their pouts started to turn to excited smiles.

Janja lowered his head and he started to approach the cubs slowly. " Are you sure you want to play with...the lava monster?!"

" Oh no! Not the lava monster!" Amina exclaimed as she started to back up with her friend.

" Where are we going to run?" Her friend whispered to Amina, loud enough for Janja to hear.

Janja paused in his steps for a quick second. " The lava monster is going to eat you for dinner…"

" Oh no!" Amina exclaimed. She started to giggle a little bit as she continued to back up.

Janja took one more step towards Amina. " I'm going to… Get you!" Janja leaped towards the cubs who started to run around the water hole. Janja chased them around the waterhole and around the clearing while making a playful evil laugh. The two cubs continued to laugh and ran as fast as they could to escape Janja.

Jasiri observed them as she chuckled. Her ears became flat on her head as her tail started to sway in joy of seeing her family. She had never imagined that there would be a day like this. It didn't seem like her life would turn out the way it had.

A family with Janja would've seemed like a stretch before, even when she had saved him all that time ago. That seemed near to impossible, with Janja's heistantion to change and both Janja and Jasiri having different beliefs. But yet, here they were.

After all the fighting.

All the saving.

All the moments where they had changed to be able to help the other.

All the moments of having to stand up for each other.

All the risks that they took for each other.

Jasiri continued to watch her family play as she continued to think to herself about every trial and tribulation she and Janja went through to come this moment.

The moment where they knew every risk was worth it.

The End
