Neela woke up slowly, blinking at the darkness of the room in confusion as she expected the light of the sun to be pouring into the window of the dorm room by this point. Her head was resting on something that seemed rather comfortable and she reached up, feeling it with her hand in confusion. It was a round mass that was quite malleable, almost large enough that her hand wasn't able to contain the majority of it and she gave it a squeeze, noting that it seemed familiar. Someone above her exhaled and groaned slightly.

"Neela, I told you if you want some practice you just have to ask," they told her sleepily. Neela's mind immediately caught up, sitting up quickly to note the cave around her and that she'd fallen asleep on Eliana's bosom, the second time they'd ended up like that from coming down to the cavern. She brushed herself off, her heart racing as she realized what she'd done, her hand warm as she looked at it, she was groping Eliana! She needed to calm down and focus, what day was it? What were they supposed to be doing? Was it day or night? She shook her head.

"Elli," Neela whispered, though after a moment of thinking about it she didn't know why she was being so quiet. "Elli!"

"Hmmm?" Eliana mumbled as she looked around and met eyes with Neela. She smiled as she stretched, slightly confused by their locale, but happy to see that Neela was with her. "Hey, little hawk, what's up?"

"We fell asleep in the cave again," Neela replied. Eliana chuckled.

"Right, you were cuddling me and saying that you were glad you had such an amazing friend like me, and I was like 'Stop, you're too kind, but you're right, I'm awesome,' and then you fell asleep on me and I was going to wake you up to go back up to the school, but you looked so peaceful and there was something about your body heat that I found really calming," Eliana ranted. "I must have dozed off."

"How long were we out for?" Neela asked. Eliana sat up and shrugged as she yawned.

"I'm not sure," Eliana told her. "Hopefully not all night, we need to be at the Vytal Arena this morning…" Eliana was silent for a long minute before her eyes shot open. "Oh no!"

"Exactly!" Neela exclaimed as she pulled her scroll out to check the time but it had died overnight without a charge. She glanced up at Eliana who was doing the same, her eyes wide as she scrambled for the exit. "Eliana…"

"If we run, we might be able to get to Vale just in time," Eliana informed her darting through the narrow tunnels out of the cavern.

"Elli…" Neela pried.

"Think we can bribe the pilot to go faster or leave early?" Eliana pondered aloud.

"Are we that close to being late!?" Neela asked her.

"We can laugh about it later when we get there on time!" Eliana shouted back.

"That's not comforting!" Neela scolded.

"More running, less talking!" Eliana pleaded.

"You have lien for the airship down?" Neela asked. Eliana stopped in her tracks as Neela flew past before putting on the brakes.

"You don't?" Eliana fired back.

"Why else would I be asking?!" Neela replied in a panic. A portal opened behind them which Raven stepped through, her arms folded as she tapped her foot.

"You two are pathetic," Raven sighed.

"Bird Grams!" Eliana declared. Raven looked at the two of them for a long moment.

"Neela, you can come with, she stays," Raven informed them before stepping back through her portal.

"Very funny!" Eliana laughed nervously.

"Come on," Neela instructed. She pushed her best friend in before proceeding after her, the portal closing as the two of them noted that the arena was airborne as opposed to the last several times they'd been there.

"What happens if you close a portal on someone," Eliana asked, completely ignoring that they were flying.

"Nothing," Raven said with an eye roll before taking her bird form and flying away towards the top of the dome.

"Well that's lame," Eliana scoffed. "I was hoping limbs got removed or something, now that would be awesome!"

"Only you, Elli," Neela told her and Eliana beamed.

"Where have you two been?" Titus asked approaching them with Ilia.

"You two never came back last night, did you?" Ilia pried.

"We decided to have a hot and steamy…" Eliana began with a large grin before Neela elbowed her in the ribs.

"We spent the night at my parents," Neela told them. The four of them glanced at each other for a long awkward moment before Titus shook his head and they followed him into the arena. "What made them decide to have the Arena take flight for the match today?"

"I'll let you guess, and the first guess doesn't count," Ilia told her. Neela shrugged.

"Apparently Velvet picked up some intel last night that the Fang were planning on having a protest outside of the stadium. They closed the event off from the public and allowed only government officials, military, press, and us students to attend. Problem solved… kind of," Titus told her.

"Kind of?" Eliana asked puzzled. Neela nodded.

"They'll find something else to protest during, but at least this allows the police and military time to either restrict their locations for doing so or wait out the Fang until they slip up and do something illegal," Ilia explained.

"What's the point of the peaceful protest?" Eliana asked. "They just want us dead, right?"

"It's a front," Neela noted.

"A cold war at this point," Ilia added. "Neither wants to make the first move and incriminate themselves, even if they believe they have all of the proper information to do so. All the media knows is what they've been told, and over the fear of an attack, the school and Council haven't said anything about the violence taking place behind the scenes."

"It's about time you all got here," Coco exhaled as she ran to them. "I was starting to worry that you'd end up losing the spot as the top team because you were late."

"That was a possibility?" Eliana inquired.

"Aren't you supposed to be unbiased towards things of that matter?" Neela asked. Coco winked.

"I am your field instructor this year," Coco told her. "But yes, technically."

"We still had two minutes…" Eliana chuckled sheepishly. Neela shot her a murderous look. "We wouldn't have made it. That's why I didn't tell you."

"Elli!" Neela shouted.

"Welcome one and all to a spectacle unlike any that we've seen in quite some time!" Glynda's voice thundered through the arena cutting Neela off and prompting Coco to lead them in so that they could take their seats close to CBLT. Tawney leaned forward, her face near Neela's head as she chuckled loudly.

"Bet I can take better notes than you can," Tawney insisted.

"I now present to you, Team RWBY and Team JNPR!" Glynda finished. The crowd went crazy, whistling and clapping with as much vigor and volume as they could for having a stadium that was only filled to about a tenth of its total capacity. Eliana sat on the edge of her seat, her eyes wide as she gripped Neela's arm and shook it to get her attention.

"Isn't this exciting?" Eliana asked Neela. Neela smiled at her, nodding in agreement as she turned to face the platform below where both teams stood on the far sides across from each other. The rules had been determined the day before. They'd be at full arena, no opportunity for out of bounds, fighting until one team lost all of its collective aura, but everything else was allowed. Neela whistled loudly, drawing the attention of Yang who smiled and waved before Blake forced her to put her arm down.

"Are we good to go?" Coco asked through her earpiece to the several huntsmen and huntresses that were working security.

"Everything looks fine out here," Yatsu replied.

"Nothing going on over on the east side," Sun added.

"Yeah, lockdown!" Neptune declared. Coco sighed.

"Did you have to bring Neptune with?" Coco asked.

"He wanted to help," Sun told her.

"What about you, May?" Coco inquired.

"There's a blackbird up here, probably a raven, I don't know my ornithology that well," May informed her. Coco smirked and shook her head.

"The bird's fine," Coco said. "I think it's looking like we're about to have a great fight on our hands."

"What's the plan, sis?" Yang asked excitedly as she bounced on the balls of her feet, Blake attempting to make her stop but having little to no luck in the matter.

"It's obvious that we're going to have to focus on Pyrrha," Ruby noted. "She going to cause the biggest issue."

"That's the best you've got?" Weiss asked flipping her hair out of her face and folding her arms. "That's unlike you."

"Look, old Weiss is back," Blake jested. Yang laughed as Weiss opened her mouth in shock.

"Hey!" Weiss shouted. "I for one am excited about this."

"It gets her out of meetings," Ruby snickered.

"And I get to spend time with my family," Weiss announced proudly. Ruby threw her arm around Weiss and pulled her in.

"Don't worry, babe! I've got a plan!" Ruby declared. Weiss rolled her eyes and laughed.

"When don't you?" Weiss asked. Yang and Blake looked at each other.

"That time we fought Salem, the time we fought the dragon, that one time…" Yang counted out on her fingers.

"Oh come on! They were really hard to beat!" Ruby protested.

"Are you guys ready to fight over there?" Nora called out across the field. "It's getting close to lunchtime and Ren cut down my pancake intake this morning!"

"I didn't want you to overeat before the fight," Ren told her. She waved him off.

"Oh, we're ready! Just keep in mind that having Nora smash isn't going to work this time!" Yang yelled.

"Ha! That's not even our plan!" Nora cackled. She glanced at Jaune nervously. "It's not, is it?"

"That was part of the plan," Jaune told her sheepishly.

"We'll do fine, Jaune," Pyrrha reassured him. He nodded and took a deep breath.

"You're right!" He agreed.

"Prepare to fight!" Glynda's voice crashed out through the speakers.

"This is it!" Nora gleefully squeed.

"3…"

"This had better work," Weiss insisted.

"2…"

"Good luck everyone!" Pyrrha yelled smiling.

"1…"

"Go Team RWBY!" Eliana screamed leaping out of her seat.

"Fight!"

Yang stood behind Ruby, gripping Crescent Rose tightly and pulling it off of her back as Ruby took off with her semblance, reaching JNPR before it could be realized, only to have Jaune step in the way of her kick at the last moment as she became tangible once again, her foot driving hard into his shield as he threw her away with assistance from Pyrrha. Ruby slid back as Yang and Blake ran past, Blake holding her ribbon tightly as she ran as Yang's fists met Nora's hammer, the shockwave sweeping over everyone battling but none of them took notice. Yang powered through with the assistance of her arm, causing Nora to stumble away but she used her hammer as a lever, pulling herself into the air and landing a safe distance away. She smirked.

Blake came up on Ren fast, swinging her ribbon around her as Ren riddled her with bullets, only to find that it had been a clone and the real Blake was closing in too quickly for him to have time to stop her, expecting Weiss instead. A speed glyph assisted her, and her cleaver slammed into his chest, he stayed on the offensive instead of retreating, spinning about quickly and clashing back against the Faunus. Ruby realigned herself as Jaune charged her and Weiss, trying to set up before Jaune reached them but only managing one fire Dust shot through a glyph before Pyrrha tossed Weiss away with Myrtenaster. Ruby exploded into petals, sweeping back until she reached her gun and rematerializing.

"Bumbleby!" Ruby called out. Yang's threw a large shot that exploded as it reached Nora, keeping her back as she blasted towards Pyrrha, only to be stopped before reaching her. Blake experienced the same result as she came up short, both of them tossed towards their teammates as Pyrrha waited for Nora to finish powering up.

"Weiss?!" Blake called out.

"I'm almost ready!" She replied running to them.

"Here I go!" Nora announced. She sprinted to Pyrrha, leaping up as the redhead used her shield and her semblance to launch her teammate. Nora swung her hammer around as Jaune amplified her power, ready to finish off RWBY as Yang prepared to block before a giant sword protruded from the earth and did the job for her, lightning dancing off of it but the resulting force of the two meeting threw them all back.

"Could you have cut it closer?" Yang asked finding her feet.

"I could have!" Weiss grunted standing to find her Giant Armor emerging from the ground. "That should keep them busy."

"Good!" Ruby declared. "Focus on Pyrrha" The armor charged forward to take out Pyrrha, swinging around as Jaune sprinted back, setting himself in front of her with his shield held high, taking the blow.

"I can take care of him!" Jaune told her. "Take out Ruby!"

"Got it!" Pyrrha told him taking off and sliding through the legs of the armor.

"I'll take Pyrrha," Ruby said. "Watch the other three!"

"Are you sure?" Weiss asked.

"It's the best chance we have," Blake noted as she took off with Yang again. Ruby nodded to Weiss who nodded back before catching up to Bumbleby using speed glyphs. Ruby smirked as Pyrrha reached her, her scythe matching Pyrrha's spear blow for blow. She struggled against Pyrrha's semblance, keeping her from winning the battle outright. The javelin swung about her body, landing two solid blows before Ruby scattered into petals, creating a vortex around Pyrrha that lifted her into the air. Ruby swung back around before reappearing, hooking Pyrrha and throwing her to the earth by firing her gun.

The warrior of JNPR managed to turn her body just in time, letting her shield take most of the impact but turning her focus from Ruby enough that Ruby was able to keep her hooked, throwing her across the arena at violent speeds. She crashed into the barrier, damaging her aura slightly. She tossed her shield, forcing Ruby to block it with Milό close behind. The projectile skimmed Ruby but was close enough to catch her cape, sending her sliding back as the shield returned to Pyrrha who was sprinting for her. Ruby swung her scythe over her head, her placement misaligned from her opponent's polarity ability and her shot went wide.

"Come on Ruby!" Eliana shouted. "You can do it!" Titus and Ilia looked down at her before looking past to Neela. Neela chuckled.

"She's really into this," Titus noted.

"She lives for this kind of stuff," Neela noted.

"Yeah, I do!" Eliana exclaimed.

"Maybe not so loud, 6 of them will be seeing you tomorrow at school," Coco suggested. Eliana thought it over for a moment.

"Go, Yang and Blake!" She yelled instead.

Yang charged in, batting Nora's hammer away as Blake shot by them, her clones making quick work of tying it up with her ribbon, allowing her to hold it in place. Yang prepared to hammer her fists into Nora as forcefully as she could when Ren's guns flew past Blake, taking a wide arc and knocking Yang's hands away. It allowed Nora to leap into the air, she used Magnhild's weight to keep herself in place as she gripped the handle tightly, kicking Yang in the jaw and sending her sprawling. Blake took her eyes off of Ren to check on Yang, he caught his weapons as he leapt over her, narrowly missing being tangled in her ribbon as she removed it from Nora's weapon and turned her focus more towards Ren.

"Yang!" Blake called giving her a nod. Yang's eyes became red as she noted Ren had been firing at Nora as he was moving in, charging her power as she made a show of her hammer, twirling it above her before letting it hit the ground behind her, dragging and creating sparks as she ran towards her opponent. Yang was prepared, launching herself forward and into Nora's preferred attack location. Yang smirked, throwing her left fist out and firing instead of blocking the mallet that was coming down over the hyper girl's head. She let the force of the explosion spin her completely around, her hair bursting into flames as her right fist completed its swing and crashed into Nora's ribs. Nora soared through the air at an alarming speed, on a crash course for the barrier with enough force that would surely remove her from the match.

"Pyrrha!" Ren shouted. Without so much as looking up from her spat with Ruby, Pyrrha used her polarity to alter Nora's path, pulling her back down to the arena and through the Giant Armor as Nora swung through it, destroying it while Jaune and Weiss countered each other.

"Weiss, we're going to have to do the thing!" Ruby shouted as Pyrrha's shield slammed into her chest and pushed her back to the arena's barrier.

"Could you be more cryptic?!" Weiss asked.

"You know! The thing?!" Ruby yelled again struggling against the shield. "Ice Flower? But with the glyphs?"

"We were calling that White Rose!" Yang shouted chasing down Nora who batted her back into Blake.

"Why didn't you say so?" Weiss inquired.

"I forgot the name we agreed on!" Ruby defended. "Let's do it!"

"We could have opened with this you know," Weiss chastised her, parrying Jaune as he attacked her with his sword and blocked Blake with his shield.

"I know!" Ruby replied frantically. "Just do it!" Weiss opened a series of speed portals around Pyrrha, watching Ruby bounce off of them with incredible speed, overwhelming the redhead who did her best to defend herself, but her leader was capable of repositioning her attacks long before Pyrrha was able to react. Jaune turned, focusing on his wife to enhance her power but Blake's clones managed to overwhelm him as Yang hammered against his shield one last time, the force enough to toss him into Ruby's area of attack.

"You thinking what I'm thinking?" Weiss asked her teammates as they fought off Ren and Nora who were approaching.

"Never," Yang jested.

"Maybe?" Blake offered. Weiss sighed, maintaining her glyphs as she struggled to summon a lancer that occupied Ren.

"Yang, keep Nora busy," Weiss instructed. Yang laughed, her hair bursting into flames once more.

"You got it," Yang agreed.

"Checkmate?" Blake asked with a shrug. Weiss shook her head.

"You three are insufferable," Weiss groaned. "Yes!" Weiss lined up three vertical gravity glyphs, allowing Blake to leap through and slash through their opponents as Ruby had made quick work of freezing them to the ground using ice rounds. Her weapon crashed off of their shields before Ruby came back through, ripping their defenses away with her scythe. "Yang!"

"Busy!" She replied, her gauntlets constantly blasting away at Nora's hammer. The force escalated with every blow, rocking the arena now as the two heavy hitters matched each other in strength and speed.

"We need to finish this!" Ren called for his teammates retreating from the Lancer.

"Nora!" Jaune yelled. "Do the thing!"

"Got it!" Nora replied. She swung completely around her body, keeping Yang from getting near as she slammed her weapon down against the floor, shattering the corner of several panels which Pyrrha grabbed and tossed at Team RWBY. Weiss was hammered into, crashing against the ground and rolling past Ruby who sliced the one coming at her in half.

"How come that worked for them?!" Ruby griped.

"Not now!" Weiss gasped trying to find her feet. Yang had gripped the panel used against her, swinging it around at Nora who had flipped her hammer into its rocket launching form, misfiring and blasting herself away from the action, breaking her aura.

"Nora Valkyrie is out!" Glynda announced.

"Yes!" Yang cheered.

"Yang!" Blake shouted as the Lancer shattered, putting Ren on a direct path for the blonde.

"Got it!" She replied. Yang blasted out to Blake, stopping on a dime as she took her wife's gun and pulled her around through an arc, launching Blake at Ren as she moved to Ruby and Weiss, assisting with Pyrrha and Jaune. Pyrrha had been given enough time to return Jaune's shield to him, and Yang charged in at the same time as Ruby, both coming from different angles as Pyrrha forced Jaune to reangle his shield, blocking Yang's attack and suspending her in place as Jaune and her switched places. Ruby read it well, watching as Yang took a shot to the gut from Pyrrha's rifle, knocking her out of the match.

She fired at Jaune, using the recoil to stop short as Jaune overestimated the force required to stop her. Weiss formed a glyph beside Jaune that Ruby swiped through, the increased force from the gravity glyph enough to destroy the rest of Jaune's aura and send Pyrrha reeling into an explosive glyph. She stumbled back, being hooked by Crescent Rose before being thrown at Weiss, another gravity glyph redirecting her and sending her quickly towards Blake who she managed to deflect and attack. The clone dissipated, allowing the real Blake to knock her feet out from under her, and sealing her to the ground with an earth clone.

"Ruby!" Blake yelled.

"Got it!" Ruby replied. Weiss formed a tunnel of glyphs upward over Ruby, letting the silver-eyed warrior leap up through them, launching her into the air before she formed her weapon into a spear and came down on Pyrrha, just skimming her. Pyrrha's aura shattered, leaving Ren alone for less than a moment as Blake bound him and Ruby finished him. The time between the last two takedowns was less than a few seconds apart and the crowd erupted as they finished processing how it had all gone down.

"That was amazing!" Eliana exclaimed.

"It was impressive," Titus admitted.

"A good showing, that's for sure," Ilia said.

"Think they'd fight us next?" Eliana inquired. Neela laughed.

"I'm guessing not," Neela told her.

"Why not?" Eliana complained.

"They're very busy people," Neela reminded her.

"So, you're related to all of them, I'm sure that you can pull some strings!" Eliana shouted.

"Everything okay up there, I missed that last call," Coco said over her comms.

"I said that this bird is losing its mind up here, leaping up and down, chirping, pecking at the barrier. You sure I can't just kill it?" May asked.

"It'd be in your best interest not to," Coco informed her with a laugh.

"That was awesome!" Nora declared as they all huddled back up.

"I thought we'd get you guys this time!" Jaune announced dejectedly. Pyrrha rubbed his back.

"We did better than the last time," Ren noted.

"At least we managed to get Yang," Pyrrha replied.

"I should have known better than to charge at you," Yang said sheepishly.

"I'm still surprised that you dodged that head-on attack from Nora," Jaune told her.

"That was nothing," Yang cheesed.

"Now what?" Weiss asked.

"Losing team buys the drinks?" Yang suggested.

"Sounds good to me," Blake agreed. Ruby groaned.

"Do we always have to go to the Crow Bar in when we're in town?" Ruby asked.

"We'll order you something sweet," Weiss assured her. "Like a screwdriver or daiquiri."

"Then I'll get the chance to beat Yang!" Nora declared.

"You're on!" Yang accepted.

"Do you think this will be enough?" Pyrrha asked looking at Ruby. Ruby looked at her with a determined gleam in her eye.

"Not enough to stop them," Ruby told her.

"What?" Weiss asked. "Then why agree to this at all?"

"I don't think it will stop them, but it will make them doubt, and that's just as good," Ruby said proudly with a smile.

"Forever the optimist," Blake noted.

"That's not necessarily a bad thing," Ren pointed out.

"I think that's enough excitement for the day," Coco told the kids as she led them towards one of the airships.

"I didn't even get to say hi to Ruby yet!" Eliana yelled.

"You'll see her when I have my birthday, come on," Neela reminded her.

"Sweet!" Eliana cheered jumping into the air. "You want to head down to the showers? We could scrub each other down."

"I'm game!" Cobalt said walking quickly to catch up.

"I'll end you," Tawney assured him, twisting his arm.

"You spent the night at Blake and Yang's, but didn't have enough time to shower this morning?" Titus asked with a raised eyebrow.

"Hot and steamy," Eliana repeated.

"We slept through our alarms," Neela insisted.

"The first story started better," Cobalt mumbled. Ilia turned around and socked him in the gut, doubling him over.

"Do you have nothing better to do?" Ilia asked him.

"Define better," Cobalt gasped falling behind with his team once again.
