Hello everyone! So I've decided to expand the plot a bit for this chapter for the rest of the story. If I have made any sort of mistakes please don't hesitate to tell me! I don't bite!

I don't own Yugioh 5ds
"We're home!"The twins chorused as they entered the large mansion. As usual nobody answered. Luna tried not to feel a pang of sadness at this and she knew Leo was trying the same although he was better at hiding it than she. They dumped everything they bought onto the table and clambered up the long staircase.
"Man I'm beat." Leo yawned. "You wanna watch a movie?"
"I thought you just said you were tired."
"Yeah but if we've got a movie on I could fall asleep while watching it."
Luna rolled her eyes. "That doesn't make any sense Leo."
"It does to me."
As they grabbed their nightclothes, they began discussing possible movies to watch.
Princess Bride.
Jumanji.
Godzilla.
Tinker Bell.
Yugioh The Pyramid of Light.
Dark Side of the Dimensions.
They began to toss out the names now with no real hope of picking any of them and it became a sort of game. Leo stood outside the bathroom calling out movie titles in response to Luna and she did the same.
They never did settle on something to watch. The twins curled up together on Leo's mattress and pulled the covers around them. Finally they stopped. The silence of the house was deafening. It was nearly midnight, well past any 11 year old bedtime but not for them. Nobody was here to chastise them or read them a bedtime story.
"Luna?" Leo whispered, reaching for her hand.
Luna took it. "Hm?"
"I wish Mom and Dad were here."
"Me too. "
"We should sleep over at someone's house soon. Maybe Dexter?"
"Sure." Luna said noncommittally. Her eyes were drifting shut now and she knew in her gut Leo's were doing the same.
They were never lonely. They had each other and each other was enough. But there was a void that couldn't be filled.
Jack drummed his fingers on the steering wheel as he waited at the streetlight. The Senator sat in the back staring at his phone, typing out a message. Jack's suit was comfortably fitted and his gloves were immaculate. He looked neat and wondered if he could keep the suit once he was done. Then again perhaps that was a little greedy of him since the Senator had given him a temporary car, an advance pay, and a weekly salary he would have to work a month at a diner or restaurant to earn. Jack was finding nowadays that he was developing a conscience. The Jack of 3 years ago wouldn't have thought twice about taking the suit but now he felt an intense guilt. Or perhaps that was just his brain yearning for another cigarette. He wasn't allowed to smoke on the job and drank a lot of coffee just to keep the stench off.
The light turned green and the GPS pointed them towards the right. He turned and drove down a long street. There was a lone racer at the other end.
"Oh turn here Mr Atlas."
He glanced at the GPS, " Sir isn't the Council building straight ahead?" Jack would never be caught dead calling someone else 'sir' but for the Senator he made an exception. Another thing he had to thank his conscience for.
"Yes but I have to make a small detour first. Just to pick something up."
Jack gave a curt nod and turned onto the side street. They followed it down and onto another side path until the Senator stopped him in front of a small business complex. The Senator dismounted and walked into the building. Jack leaned back slightly and stretched. His butt was getting sore. He had to drive Akiza to school this morning then pickup the Senator so he's been sitting for quite a while. The racer from earlier sped down the street kicking up a plume of dust and smoke that melted into the fog of the early morning. The sun's radiance was dimmed creating a cold atmosphere.
Jack thought of Yusei. He was supposed to head on over in a bit, after he dropped the Senator off. Bruno. What was the deal with Bruno? They acted close but perhaps it was just Jack's imagination playing tricks on him. He didn't even know Yusei swung that way but then again Jack's never seen him on a date with a girl or guy for that matter.
He dropped his head on the steering wheel and groaned loudly. What was he doing? He had no right after what he did. He remembered what Yusei had said in cold anger that day 'But after I'm done with it, I never want to see you ever again.'So I guess there was no chance of Yusei forgiving Jack then…
That made him feel greedy. For everything he's done he doesn't deserve to be forgiven. He leaned back again. As long as Yusei's happy… Then he noticed something out of the corner of his eye and his blood ran cold. Well, more specifically someone.
A runner was parked across the street with a large bulky figure leaning against it. The runner was cloaked in shadows but Jack knew it was black with pond scum green decal and large sharp spikes on the axles. The front wheel jutted out a good 4 feet from the main body and was elevated slightly. The only thing that was visible about the man himself was his gray-green eyes that were staring straight at Jack.
"Oh crap."He muttered under his breath. What the hell was he doing here? Immediately Jack's eyes snapped towards the building. It's been about 10 minutes already, where was the Senator? Jack fought the urge to take off speeding down the road. This was really, really bad. Quickly, while keeping one eye on the unmoving figure across the street, he fished out his phone and dialed the Senator's number.
'Pick up.' He silently pleaded.
After two rings the Senator answered."One second I have a call. Yes Mr Atlas."
"Sir I want you to listen to me very carefully. I don't have time to explain but I need you to come out now. Is there any sort of back entrance to this building you're in?"
"Yes I believe so but what's this about?"
"Sir."Jack put more emphasis into his voice. "This is a threat to your life. Please trust me, I swear I will explain but for now you need to get out of there." The man had moved slightly to grab something out of a bag.
After a short pause he said"Alright. There is a back entrance. If you go down the street take a left then another left you will be behind the building."
"Got it. Please don't come out until I tell you too." He cut the call and eyed the man tensely. 'Crap. I knew it. He never leaves home without his Semi Automatic.'
Jack had a scar from that same gun had been used on him. Luckily the man had been drunk and had missed but had still given Jack a nice reminder under his hair, near his ear.
Jack backed out of the street carefully not giving any indication that anything was wrong. He kept an eye on the man the entire time. He turned left and the man left his sight. Jack breathed a sigh of relief. Good perhaps he was wrong. He rounded the corner and dialed the Senator's number again. Moments later he appeared at the back entrance and started walking towards the car. Suddenly a shot rang out and the Senator ducked.
Jack cursed wide eyed and jumped out of the car. A thin slender figure was straddling her runner gun in hand. Jack didn't have time to think. He grabbed one of the stones that lined the ground and hurled it at her. It connected with her gun hand and she cried out in pain. He grabbed the Senator and dragged him into the back seat forgoing all decorum. Slamming his foot on the gas pedal, he sped out of that alley. A few more shots connected with the car but luckily none hit the tires. The sounds of a loud engine came streaking behind them.
"Fuck!" He tightened his hold on the steering wheel. The burly man was following them, his runner roaring like a beast. "Sir please hold onto something and put your seatbelt on! Put your head down!"
Jack slammed on the accelerator and raced down the road. It was no use the runner was built for speed; it'll be able to outrun the car in a matter of moments. He swung sharply into a street trying to lose his tail. No use. There were pedestrians now, littering the streets. Jack cursed again.
"Maybe we can lose him here! His runner can't fit without someone getting hurt!" The Senator shouted.
"It doesn't matter! He'd kill a hundred people just to get to us! He was in the Facility for murder!" Jack growled. "He bloody underestimates me! I'll let him know why I'm known as the Master of Faster!" He put on more speed and the crowd around them screamed and threw themselves on the sidewalks. He dodged his way through the crowd taking turn after turn. The runner kept up oh his trail matching him for every turn but that was what Jack wanted. He grinned. They raced around building after building until finally it seemed like the runner was slowing down.
"Whats the matter? Didn't fill up your tank before you left home!" He taunted. Finally when it seemed like they had lost their pursuers Jack drove into an empty parking lot. He was sweating and they both huffed and panted for a few seconds.
"Oh thank god."Jack breathed.
"Who the hell was that?"The Senator asked, trying to straighten himself.
"Nasty fella' known as Tanner. The girl who shot 's called Kira. Theres no crime he wouldn't stoop to, from robbery to rape to murder. The underworld pays him the big bucks for assassinations and I don't think he's ever failed yet." Jack smirked. "Until today that is."
The Senator was flustered." Assassinations?"
"Someone in the Underworld has a bounty on you Senator. And it seems like its pretty big if Tanner and Kira took the job. I would suggest investing in some security. Those arseholes are relentless." He took out his lighter and began fingering it to keep the nerves away.
"
"How do you know all this?"
Jack flipped the lid open then closed." I used to be one of those arseholes."He said quietly. "You saw their runners right? Well I used to be one of their supports. Sometimes me and Kira alternated as each other's lead racers. I was desperate and they were the only team who would give me such a big cut in the prize money. They showed me a better, quicker way to get an easy buck. I did a lot of odd jobs in the underworld but I never killed anyone. Usually Tanner has me go get him gas for his runner since he's too much of a lazy bastard to do it himself. The faster he goes the more fuel he was a really bloody terrible decision to join them in the first place. In addition to that my addictions started to get out of hand and I ended up owing them a lot of money. "He ran a shaking hand through his hair remembering the way he had been humiliated and overpowered. "To them I was no better than a bloody street dog. " He sighed. "I cut my ties with them about a week ago. As it seems they were planning on kicking me out anyway, since I haven't won a single race in nearly a month."
The Senator put a hand on his shoulder surprising Jack. "I'm sorry for everything you've gone 're so young. Nobody should be forced to endure something like that."
Jack paused for a second. The Senator's eyes were open and honest. He was genuinely sorry for something that he had no control over. Jack averted his eyes. " It was my fault. I was really broken up after Yusei's accident. I wasn't thinking straight. I understand if you would like to fire me." He lowered his voice during that last sentence.
The Senator shook his head. "You saved me. You risked your own safety to ensure I was safe. I could never thank you enough for that."
Jack considered it."I suppose I did, didn't I? But he'll be back. I know him, if the reward is as big as I think it is he would go to the end of the Earth to get it. He wouldn't attack when there are people around." His eyes wandered to the clock and gave a start. "Sir you have a meeting at 11! It's 10:54!"
"Crap!"The Senator started trying to straighten his clothes and papers that had pitched out of their seat when Jack went all Grand Theft Auto.
Jack slammed on the accelerator and rushed down the road making it to the Senator's building record time and feeling like a huge weight was lifted off of his chest.
Please drop a little R and R!
I hope everyone is doing well!
