The short story from before this chapter is still in progress, I am just really bad at lemons. Enjoy this little misunderstanding that the two lovers had.

"I don't ever want to speak with you again!" Rin had shouted. There was no doubt that the entire palace had heard her. Maybe even the palace next over too.

She slid her door shut and began to frantically take inventory of her room. She only grabbed the essentials. Her brush, something to wear, her snacks Kagome had given her, and maybe she slipped her favorite scent of perfume that Sesshomaru had gifted her. After she stuffed all that into a sack bag, she put on her sandals and left her room to the main entrance.

Right when she opened her door, she found Sesshomaru standing over her.

She ignored his glare and passed right before him, speeding down the hallway into the main structure of the fortress. Even if she felt a bit of guilt for discarding his silent questions, she continued on, determined to show some stubbornness.

"Rin," Sesshomaru called out, his voice deep with authority. He was loud in Rin's ear, even as he was quite a walk away, it sounded as if his lips were right atop of her ear. Her walk hestatied, but quickly she regained her composure and began to flee away from his powerful demeanor.

Sesshomaru finally turned around and stared blades into the back of her head. She instantly felt them, her walk had completely stopped.

She had regretted the words she yelled earlier instantly once his eyes captured her. Should she turn around? She knew she would burst into tears and fall victim to his righteous power. Though, she didn't want him to win.

He was the one in the wrong.

"My Rin," Sesshomaru coaxed. His sweet Rin was in pain, and he could feel the betrayal that her heart had held onto. Though, he wished to give her the truth to what had been said that night. He softly began to explain.

"What you have heard is not what it seems." Sesshomaru began. He slowly took a few steps until he had reached her. He restrained himself from lifting her into his enfold. Instead he wanted her to come to him willingly.

"I will not believe anything you say." Rin whispered, clutching her arms for her own comfort.

Sesshomaru stepped a bit closer, his chest resting on her shoulders, giving her a sense of his warmth that he knew she oh so loved. He crept his nose into her nape, letting icy breath flow against her skin. Her body relaxed with some places doing the opposite.

"Listen to this one's words. He is certain that you will feel at ease." Sesshomaru whispered, and pulled away from her, stealing his heat from her. You could hear the tread of his boots as he left back to his chambers.

Rin finally looked behind her and watched his silvery mane glide behind him as he turned the corner.

Immediately she started following him, though the sound of another's tread began to distract her. She looked towards the footsteps to see that it was one of Sesshomaru's generals. It puzzled her to see a general in the private halls of her and Sesshomaru's sleeping corridors.

He took off his helmet in a respectful manner. " Lady Rin, I have come to take you to your new home." His voice held nervousness as he kept his eyes down.

Rin took a step back, her eyes widening.

Everyone back at the village was right. Lord Sesshomaru did see her as temporary.

She clutched her belongings, trying her very hardest not to shed a tear. "I will leave myself!" She raised her voice. He began to walk past him to the main entrance but to her surprise she was blocked by the general.

"Parten me, Rin. It was my responsibility to ensure you are at the location Lord Sesshomaru has picked for you."

She ignored him and tried to pass him again to which he had blocked her once more. This time she pushed right through him but he had latched his grip into her bicep, startling her.

"You will not leave here alone." He stated. His eyes piercing hers. "Lord Sesshomaru was wise to dispose of you, disobedient girl." Rin's eyes furrowed, then weakened.

Instantly, the general was pinned to the wall. His neck gripped by Sesshomaru's sharpened claws, ready to pierce his vein if needed.

"If you ever touch Rin again, I will return the favor." Sesshomaru's eyes bleed crimson, his markings as rigid as ever before.

Rin took this opportunity to run towards the gate, and to never return. Sesshomaru tossed the demon aside and soared in front of the gate to prevent Rin from fleeing.

"I should have listened to all the warnings I have heard!" Rin stated fiercely. "I am just entertainment to you, I am just something to watch and to give amusement to you! I have given myself to you! I have been loyal and had adoration for you." Rin cried out, she couldn't hold the grief, anguish she was trapping inside of herself any longer.

It felt as if she was on fire, everything seemed a lie. The one who she had blinded love, wanted to get rid of her.

"Rin, you do not know of the truth." Sesshomaru told with a tinge of urgency. He swept her up this time and kept her tight in his hold. She clinged into his familiar form, revealing all her emotions.

"Have you gotten bored of Rin?" She wept, her cheek pressed on his neck.

"This Sesshomaru only wants to protect you from the upcoming… danger." He said. Rin pulled away to search for some emotion in his eyes.

" What do you mean, Sesshomaru-sama?" Rin whispered, still gazing into his eyes.

Sesshomaru began walking back to his chambers. This time, Rin was with him. As he walked, he answered her question.

"Only I know of what is happening soon. A war. There is no way to create an agreement with the enemy, so it must be decided with violence." His voice turned back into his normal, icy tone as he reminded himself of what was to be done. "I do not want you near me until we have completely eliminated any threats."

"Why did your general say that you wanted to dispose of me?" Rin challenged.

"This Sesshomaru has no answer. I have no plan and will never have intentions for separating us permanently." He finished.

They had enclosed themselves in his chambers. He let Rin fall onto his plush futon as he took an unused scroll and dipped his brush into dark ink.

"I will send you to a private retreat in different lands for the time being." Sesshomaru reassured Rin. "Once this trivial war is over, I will join you."

Rin sat right next to him as he made out the arrangements for her. She felt at peace, as she watched Sesshomaru's perfect brush strokes print characters onto the parchment. Once he was done, he spread it out to dry and joined Rin on his futon.

"Forgive me, my lord." Rin peeped. "I should have never eavesdropped on you and doubted your morals." Rin looked away as she was reminded of her shameful acts. Though, he couldn't be mad at her! He knew that it seemed as if he wanted to be rid of her for good.

"Do not feel guilty, Rin. Come, lay on my chest." He enticed as he slivered his arm underneath her breast. She let herself be pulled to his side.

Before drifting to sleep, the last words she heard Sesshomaru say was what she had needed all along.

"You are what I need.
