It's been over month since Nakoma came to England. She now resides in the same house as Thomas, keeping him company on those freezing cold nights. One day the two were out on the town, inviting friends of theirs to their wedding. Nakoma wore a beautiful, slender white laced gown that Thomas had bought for her. She waited outside of the store Thomas was in. Through the corner of her eye she saw a fat, bearded, red-haired man approach her.
"Hey, sweetie." said the man, grabbing Nakoma by the wrist "You look awfully pretty. How about you give old Lon a kiss, huh?"
Realizing the man was drunk Nakoma pulled away from the fat drunken man only to be grabbed by him again.
"Get your hands off of me!" Nakoma screamed, wrestling with Lon's hands as she pushed out into the street.
"Get away from her!" screamed Thomas, running towards the Lon as the townsfolk watched in horror.
Thomas grabbed Lon by the back of his shirt and with all of his strength, pulled Lon away from his bride to be and punched him.
"Don't ever let me catch you around her again!" yelled Thomas, as Lon rubbed his jaw.
The two went home together, but Thomas kept thinking about what had happened. He barely had enough strength to pull Lon away from Nakoma. And he only got lucky with the punch.
"Thomas?" said Nakoma, bringing Thomas out of his thoughts "Is something wrong? You look worried."
"I am." sighed Thomas "I was just thinking about what happened. The way that bastard threw himself at you. How am I ever going to protect you from anyone else who does the thing in the future?"
"You seemed to handle yourself pretty well against him." said Nakoma, taking Thomas by the hand.
"Barely." answered Thomas.
"Don't think about it so much." smiled Nakoma, looking up at Thomas and making him smile "You have and always will be the strongest man I've ever known."
Nakoma kissed Thomas and then turned towards the bedroom. Thomas watched her as she entered into and looked back at him, brushing her hair out of her eyes to let him see that sparkle. Thomas followed behind, closing the door as he entered the room with her.
That night, Nakoma and Thomas laid happily in one another's embrace, until a loud thud came from outside, as if something fell.
"What was that?" said Nakoma, hugging Thomas even tighter.
"I'll go check. You stay here." said Thomas, kissing Nakoma on the forehead and getting up out of bed to put his pants on.
Thomas stepped out of the house and went to the left side of it to see what the noise was. But after he did so he suddenly felt a something hit the back of his head. He fell down unconscious on the cobblestone ground. Meanwhile, inside the house Nakoma waited anxiously for Thomas to come back inside. After hearing the door open and slam shut she ran out of the bedroom only to see Lon.
"Where's Thomas?" Nakoma said, the look of shock on her face.
"You don't have to worry about him no more." laughed Lon "You're mine!"
Lon ran towards Nakoma as she hurried back into the bedroom and closed the door. She put all of her weight against the door, locking it on the inside, but it was no use, Lon burst through the door, almost knocking it off it's hinges and knocked Nakoma to the floor. Nakoma backed away until she hit wall and watched the fat man inch closer and closer towards her. All she could think about was Thomas. What happened to him? Where was he? What did this lunatic do to him? She quickly leaped to her feet as Lon ran at her again, almost squishing her against the wall.
Outside the house Thomas suddenly came to. He quickly got up to his feet after hearing Nakoma scream for help. He rushed inside and hurried to the bedroom to find Lon on top of Nakoma, with his giant hands around her neck. Thomas's hands clenched in rage. With as much strength as he could he pulled Lon off of Nakoma and the two ran into the other room. Lon followed after them, but was met with a chair to his face. Nakoma rushed to the stove and picked up some smouldering hot coffee and splashed it in Lon's eyes, making him wail in pain. Lon slung his arms around, almost blinded by the heat from the coffee. Thomas dodged the swings and managed to get Lon outside. But Lon was still angry, seething. He rubbed his eyes and suddenly his vision started returning. Lon clenched his fist and whacked Thomas in the jaw. Thomas returned to his feet, but got pushed back down when Lon's fist connected to his right eye. But Thomas wasn't staying down. Punch after punch he kept getting knocked down and getting right back up again. Having enough Nakoma ran between the two and bent over to look at Thomas.
"Thomas..."
"Nakoma..."
The two stood up together and looked at Lon, who was breathing heavily.
"You can do whatever you want to me." said Thomas "You can push me down all you want, but I'm still going to stand up if it means fighting for what I love."
Thomas and Nakoma stood there, ready for Lon to make his next move.
"AHH!" yelled Lon, charging at the young couple, but the two were quick on their feet, stepping out of the way as Lon hurled himself into the river in front of their house.
Nakoma and Thomas laughed at the annoyed drunker and went back inside, locking the door this time so that no one could barge in on them. The two laid in their bed, enjoying one another's company yet again.
"You're my hero Thomas." smiled Nakoma, running her fingers through Thomas's hair.
"You're mine too." said Thomas, kissing Nakoma passionately on the lips.
The End
