Skaro, Near destroyed Dalek City
Underground Dalek Base
"The Arena"
(Kowalski's POV)
A circle of twelve Daleks guarded Private's holding cell. More Daleks hovered above us glaring at us their gun's twitching in anticipation. The Daleks were all silent they're were in their element on their home planet so no gloating was required. They were convinced that this was a victory; no plans, no planet to conquer, no doomsday weapons to fire; just pure and simple extermination. Unfortunately for them this is far from a victory.
A single Dalek guarded a Dalek at a control panel waiting for the order to fire off the scary looking gun mounted to the ceiling. The activation for the holding cell was glowing as the field was active. A Dalek Parliament worth of Daleks had filed into the stands itching to blast us their gun sticks twitching impatiently. The White Supreme was up on raised platform off to one side of the stands.
"Penguins," the White Supreme Dalek said, "Welcome to The Games of The Daleks! If you succeed in our trials you will be spared from extermination!"
The Blue Strategist moved up, "If you fail or try and escape you will be Exterminated!"
"EXTERMINATE! EXTERMINATE! EXTERMINATE! EXTERMINATE!" all the gathered Daleks screamed.
A Imperial Guard Dalek floated down from above, "Your goal is simple you will have twenty-nine Rels to free your comrade and return to your designated area. Failure to do so in the time given will result in extermination!"
The Gun mounted to the cave roof turned and aimed towards a model of the TARDIS. A massive blinding white beam fired out obliterating the model. The gun powered down and a Dalek moved away from the controls.
"BEGIN!" The White Supreme shouted as another Dalek started to loudly count down the time.
"Twenty Nine Rels to Extermination!" The Dalek shouted, "Twenty Nine..."
As the Rels were counted down we rushed towards the controls. Rico and Skipper rushed towards the holding cells avoiding the guarding Daleks blasts. The Daleks floating above us added their own fire to the mix. I dove out of the way of a blast from on high and got to the panel. North Wind was trying not to die as the blasts intensified and the countdown continued.
"...Twenty-Seven..."
"Any Second Now," Skipper said as Rico blasted a Dalek with the Rocket Launcher.
The Dalek was blasted back a inch but was otherwise intact.
"...Twenty Six..."
"Kowalski?" Skipper said.
I ducked to avoid a barrage of Varga Plant spines and hit the button. I avoided the hostile Skaro Plant and another Dalek death blast. The Special Weapon's Dalek narrowly missed me blasting a crater in the ground. The holding cell deactivated and Skipper and Rico grabbed Private.
"...Twenty Four..."
"We need to move," Skipper said.
"I couldn't agree more," Classified said.
"Kowalski?" Private said, "Where's the designated area."
I frantically looked around the arena and saw the 'designated" area in front of the exit at the other side of the bowl like area. I pointed at it and Skipper nodded before turning to us and The North Wind.
"...Twenty two..."
"Our objective is over there!" Skipper said, "Move!"
The Eight of us peeled across the field making it a quarter of the way when...
"Extermination in Twenty Rels! Nineteen..." the Daleks said as every Dalek in the area readied their guns and turned towards us.
"Move! Move! Move!" Skipper said as we wasted ten Earth seconds to pass the central line and the quarter way point.
"TEN RELS TO EXTERMINATION! Nine Rels..."
The Daleks were now actively tracking us as we rushed towards the exit. The Daleks hovering above us lowered to get a better shot. The Daleks in the stands above and around the exit was growing more impatient and they will not wait for ZERO.
"FIVE RELS! Four... Three... Two..."
Before the Dalek could yell One and Zero we made it into the designated area.
"You passed," the White Supreme Dalek said without any fanfare or joy... Daleks don't feel joy.
Rico hacked up The Dalek-Slayer and aimed it at The Supreme Dalek.
"All your Anti-dalek Weapons were destroyed," The Supreme panicked, "EXPL..."
Rico blasted the dome off the Dalek before it could finish sending the other Daleks into a Panic.
"EXTERMINATE THEM!" The Red Supreme said, "They can not escape!"
"Catch us if you can," Skipper said as Daleks started to descend from above.
"RUN!" Skipper shouted and we rushed out of there.
Rico fired off another blast destroying fifty Daleks. The gun spun around but Rico took out the Dalek at the controls before it could free. The Daleks overhead being conservative with it's firepower careful not to collapse the cavern on themselves. The Dalek ship we arrived in was waiting unguarded as Daleks on the ground and in the air pursued us.
Rico blasted the Dalek-slayer taking out the cavern ceiling. Gloppy globs of ancient soupified angry Dalek started to flood in. The Daleks around us instantly went into panic mode struggling to avoid the hateful evil goo. Private nearly got drenched in the stuff but Skipper pulled him back.
"I think it's best that we don't get liquid Dalek on us," Skipper said.
"Agreed," I said.
Daleks all around were being overwhelmed by multiple blobs of liquid Dalek trying to take over their shells. Daleks fell out of the sky their hovering abilities disabled as brown Dalek slush flooded their eye-stalks. The Daleks that were still active and not drenched in screaming living liquid were screaming about their vision being impaired as others exploded sending Dalek bits flying. The rest of them were too busy hovering out, launching their ships, transmatting, or Emergency Temporal Shifting out of there. A group of daleks tried to escape deeper into the complex only to get caught in a flood of liquid Dalek. Another group trying to move up a ramp met a similar fate.
"Unless you want to drown in Dalek," Skipper said, "we better move."
We piled into the Dalek shuttle as I reach for the controls. I seal the doors shut and activate the launch sequence. We all rock back as the ship takes off its thrust obliterating the gunk that was starting to crawl over it. The Dalek slush made a angry screaming sound unable to make words without a voice modulator.
The Ship exploded out of the ground and rushed past the ruined Dalek city. It sped over another ruined Dalek city only to get shot down. It crashed at the edge of a metallic forest near the coast of a irradiated lake filled with the mutated monstrosities that passed as lifeforms in this corner of one of the worst planets in the universe. A immobile metal crocodile like reptile was the only witness to the Dalek task-force that surrounded the downed craft.
Too bad we escaped before their got there. We entered the city and began our desperate search for the city's Space Port. We passed the dusty cobweb covered ancient Daleks still sitting around dormant in the depowered city. Row after row of deactivated Daleks stretched out into the darkness.
"Well that's creepy," Classified said looking at the decrepit Daleks before us.
"Don't touch any them," Skipper said, "Don't want to revive any of them."
"These are the first iteration of the Daleks the First Doctor Faced," I said, "More basic without the ability to hover, or teleport, wholly depended on the electrified floods of their cities to move around, plus a dependence on radiation that makes leaving their cities impossible, and quite easy to push around and to knock over. But their still Daleks hatred and killer tendencies included. AND ARMED!"
Skipper look at the weapon, "I don't know Kowalski these things look like they came from some cheesy low budget sci-fi show from the 60s with a very small effect budget."
"Well they have been stuck here rusting for Millennia!" I said, "Also These Daleks are Stone Age compared to the 'Modern' Daleks but technology has to start somewhere."
"These are still why ahead of the Humans of The Stone Age," Classified said.
"Um..." Private said, "Don't we have Daleks that are still very ALIVE outside!"
"Right," Skipper said, "let's get moving!"
I then turn to Corporal who was reaching out towards one of the ancient Daleks, "Don't Touch any of them! And watch the static... they can use static."
"Really?" Corporal asked.
"Why do you think everything here is metal?" I asked as we traveled deeper into the Darkness.
The Door we entered in exploded causing light to penetrate the city for the first time in Centuries. The Bronze, Imperial, New Paradigm, and 'renegade' Daleks entered. A door slid shut alerting the Daleks, a door that was blocked by their deactivated ancestors. The Daleks moved aside and a Special Weapon's Dalek entered and aimed it's weapon at the Ancient Daleks. Without a word the Special blasted at the dormant Daleks creating a path to the door.
"Proceed," The White Supreme said, "We have the schematics for this city. We know all the places they can hide! They will find no shelter in the city of the past."
"DALEKS REIGN SUPREME! LONG LIVE THE DALEKS!"
"Victory is assured," The White Supreme responded, "EXTERMINATE!"
"EXTERMINATE! EXTERMINATE! EXTERMINATE!"
"Daleks conquer and destroy!"
"Victory! Victory! Victory!"
They all turn to the open doorway and traveled deeper into the ancient Dalek city. The deadliest game of cat and mouse had just begun. The external door slid shut bathing the derelict Daleks in darkness once more. But a single dim light cut through as one of the ancient Daleks started to awaken. The shutter on the lens of the eye-stalk fully opened as the Dalek spoke to nobody.
"Annihilate!"
