Chapter 17

Bloodshot eyes opened, his back screaming at the uncomfortable couch he was splayed across. His stomach churned, he felt all of the irony coming up before he ran to the bathroom. Expelling everything he was mad at Midoriya for using as a coping mechanism out, while he realized just what an ass he had been last night. The fluorescent light in the bathroom stinging his eyes as he threw water on his face, into his mouth before spitting. He padded around, coming back to the couch with a thud as he held his head. The birds chirping outside made him want to set them on fire.

"Hey man, rough night." He brought two glasses of water before sitting down.

The blonde grunted in response and shook his head, he reached for the water.

"Listen dude, you need to go apologize." The muscular legs propping up on the coffee table.

Bakugo choked before he sat his glass down.

"I'm not, shitty hair." He frowned.

He knew he was wrong, he felt the need to run back to those puppy dog eyes and hug them with everything he had. It was his fault, he started chipping at Midoriya before the younger man could even keep up with him. He knew he put the cracks in his foundation, he knew he hurt Midoriya. He just could not, would not, go back and have it thrown in his face. When those green orbs bore into his soul he just got so angry, so angry knowing he broke the person behind them.

"Bro, what the hell. You're serious?" Kirishima raised his eyebrows.

"Just need to," He held his head. "Think about it."

Warm grey and blue eyes took in the sleeping emerald, as he gently rubbed his shoulder to wake him. Bright green orbs popped open, looking up with a smile as he reached to cuddle against the dual user. He breathed in a huff of vanilla and sank into the scent. His nose waiting for the musky cinnamon man to come wafting in as well. Big arms to tackle them and give them their good morning kiss.

Todoroki felt his grip loosen as he watched the emerald sink back under the blanket.

"S-Shoto, where is he?" He remembered seeing the hurt look in Bakugo's face as he blamed him.

"He is with Kirishima, Izu. He won't.." The stoic man caught himself, trying to ease the shaking man. He wasn't sure if the blonde had been serious, given his state. Though he just needed to keep Izuku calm for now.

He didn't have answers for him.

Running his fingers through the dark hair, the smaller man chimed once more.

"B-But when, Shoto?" He looked up, gripping the blanket for comfort.

"He needs time." His voice unsteady while he hushed the greenite.

Midoriya knew that meant he wouldn't be home, he missed that face. He just didn't understand why his boyfriend wouldn't come home and talk to him.

Bakugo wandered down the side streets. A bobbing head of blaze red beside him as they passed shops. He was glad to get time to clear his head, though he knew it to be selfish leaving his boyfriends alone when they were upset too. The breeze picked up, blowing leaves across the sidewalk they walked along. Long arms stretched up as Kirishima rested them behind his head, continuing to walk.

"I still think the flowers are way manly, Bakubro." He watched the blonde shove his hands into his pockets, a grumpy look on his face.

"Yeah, yeah. Shitty flowers won't fix what that peppermint ass heard me say." He grumbled.

"Yo, just don't go trying to throw your love away again dude." He grinned, punching at the blonde's shoulder as they walked.

"Shut up, s'not like that fucker." He shrugged off the playful jab and kept walking, eyeing a few distinct shops.

"You gonna text them at least? They're probably worried man." Crimson met crimson as they stopped before Bakugo pointed over to a small shop.

"Gonna surprise 'em." He grinned.

The two went into the shop, against Kirishima's better judgement to text the men first. A short older woman meeting them at the counter, she stood behind a display case full of shimmering golds and silver. Different gemstones splayed alongside crystals. She welcomed them to look around, offering custom pieces to the curious blonde. His friend shook his head with a grin, this would definitely trump flowers any day.

To his best efforts, Todoroki tried to ease the greenite out of the bed and offered to make him breakfast. The emerald shook his head, pouting as he demanded to know when Bakugo would be home.

"Izuku, please. I don't know. He was very drunk last night." He sighed and rubbed the mossy hair next to him.

"He will come home though, right?" His eyes softening as he looked at the handsome man.

"If I know Katsuki, then yes." He swallowed and smiled.

He wasn't sure if he knew the man yelling into the phone last night, having been recipient to his anger in the past. He knew that was his problem side, but he knew the way those ruby eyes followed him when they first started their relationship. When he would write with passion for the dual user, holding him as he sang his own songs to him.

He knew the way those shining orbs trailed along a sleeping Midoriya, content with loving him. Hopeful to see the smile again in the morning, to put it there if he could.

He had come to know that man many times.

The bicolored man smiled as he kissed the worried forehead in front of him. His breathing shallow and quiet against the birds outside. The sunlight brushing their faces through opened curtains, washing them with the new day. The floor baking under the beams, warming to the touch of rested feet. The taller man stood, staring out at the wide, ocean sky. Mismatched eyes following a red flit into a tree, watching it tend to it's nest.

The waves of heat drawing him away from the window, he noticed a familiar grouchy blonde getting out of a car. The crimson hair grinning as his mouth moved. The blonde's mouth returning the motion as the door slammed. Todoroki couldn't distinguish the words exchanged, but he turned to the sulking emerald behind him with a small smile. He pulled the confused man up, tugging him down the hall. The freckled man's shorts hanging softly at his hips before they rounded the living room, towards the foyer.

"I need a shirt before we go somewhere Shoto!" He blurted as the taller man held his hand, stopping at the front door.

The quiet man gave him a kiss on the cheek, wrapping his arms around his waist as the door opened. A flood of red deeper than the blonde's eyes thrust into the room, as he nearly dropped everything he was holding. He quickly sat his items down, reaching to hold both of the men waiting for him. The fresh scents mixing and filling the air around him as he pulled tighter, words stuck at his throat while he gripped a handful of forest locks. Pressing himself against the soft lips once again, tasting the tears on the other's face. He took a sharp breath as he pulled back, reaching behind him for the dual user's arm as he tugged him into his mouth as well, the forgiveness dripping off of their tongues. Breaking himself apart, he held them just a while longer, their heat welcoming him home.

"I want my apology flowers, Katsuki." The monotone paired with a smirk.

The blonde grinned, leaning down as he lifted a round velvet box, dozens of roses tucked inside staring back at the cocky man. He presented the flourish of red to an excited emerald as well.

"You really brought flowers? T-That's the sweetest thing ever Kacchan!" His face brightening as the blonde spoke.

"I thought this occasion deserved something more than words. You two put up with my shit all the time, so.." He leaned down once more, holding out a smooth navy box.

It's rectangular shape seated in his hands as he tilted the lid off, a velvet bed holding two shimmering items. On one side, sat a golden chain resting as it held a small pendant. A glistening ruby following multiple diamonds trailing beneath. Seated next to the delicate gems, a small gold bracelet with emeralds splayed out to dangle from it, diamonds next to the clasp.

The blonde's voice low and husky as he spoke.

"You two.. Are worth more than any amount of stones I could buy, and I love you." He lowered his head, apologetic towards the men. "I'm so sorry." He grit his teeth, waiting for a response.

The greenite closed the box, setting it safely to the side as the two came closer and hugged Bakugo. Apologies gushing from each individual as they held one another. They sat down together, the blonde in between the lovelorn duo as they each held a hand of his. Leaning against his chest, Midoriya spoke.

"Kacchan, I'll work harder to understand you." He nuzzled his face into the warm chest, he had missed it so.

"I'll work to understand how I made you feel, and how to contain my own damn temper." He smiled, patting the snuggled head leaning on him.

"I'm glad you're both done being idiots." The blank face was met with laughter.

His face softened into a smile when he leaned down onto Bakugo's firm chest, meeting Izuku in the middle for a kiss.

He could stay like this forever.
