"It all just kind of happened" was a phrase Henry always thought of when he thought about how lucky he was to have the role of a superhero sidekick. 11. The Lost Job: Part 1

Chapter 11: The Lost Job Part 1

[It's the morning after the massage Henry gave Charlotte. Henry woke up with his arms around Charlotte, and he smiled, he couldn't believe Charlotte was his girlfriend, the prettiest and most smartest girl in school, and his best friend. He soon got out bed, went to the other side, and kissed her on her forehead.]

"Good morning, beautiful."

"Nrrgh... Hen... Let me sleep longer..., Charlotte says, groggily.

"Did that massage give you a hangover?", Henry asks, amused. Charlotte throws a pillow at him.

"Okay... Okay, but I'll be back, and when I'm back, I'm gonna tickle you." Charlotte groans.

[Henry puts on some clothes and brushes his teeth. Soon, he goes downstairs and sees Jasper coming through the door.]

"Hey, Hen. Did you study for our History test tomorrow?", asks Jasper.

"We have a History test tomorrow?"

"Yeah, didn't Charlotte tell you?", Jasper asks.

"Oh, no, we were busy...", Henry says.

"Busy..., how?"

"Let's just say... It got noisy.", Henry says with a smirk.

"Ohhhh... I still don't get it. Anyway, where's Piper?"

"In her room... Why?", Henry asks.

"I'm gonna surprise her with these flowers and chocolate for our week-a-versary. What did you get for Charlotte?"

"I got her a teddy be-...", Henry pauses.

[Charlotte comes down the stairs in her pajamas and Henry stares her down. He saw the pajamas last night, but he was sleepy. Charlotte looked like the sexiest girl in the world.]

"...My god...", Henry barely manages to get out.

"Hey, Jasp! Hen, why do you look like you just won the lottery?", Charlotte asks.

"Yeah... If the lottery was right in front of me.", Henry says.

[Charlotte blushes, a big, georgeous smile coming out of her. Henry goes in to kiss her and they kiss.]

"Don't you two make a cute couple? Not as cute as me and Piper, though.", Jasper says.

[Henry turns around and says...]

"So you have chosen death, I see."

"Nononononono, pleaseeeee, I haven't proposed to Piper yet!", Jasper says, scared.

"Don't worry dude, I was just kidding."

"I'm gonna go upstairs and give her our week-a-versary gift. See you guys later."

"See you later, Jasp.", Henry and Charlotte say in unison.

[They both plop down on the couch and start watching TV.]

"Did you study for the History test tomorrow, babe?"

"We have a History test tomorrow?", Henry asks, again.

"Yeah... I didn't tell you last night?", Charlotte says.

"No, you were too busy screaming your head off.", Henry says, then he winks.

[Charlotte blushes again.]

"Let's do that again sometime, but for now, we need to get you to cram for this test.", Charlotte says.

"Why? It shouldn't be that important."

"Babe, this test is half of our grade this semester.", Charlotte says, worried.

"Come on, babe. I'm not gonna fail, don't worry.", He says, kissing his worried girlfriend.

The next day at school, Henry, Jasper, and Charlotte are in History class. Jasper was in front of Henry and Charlotte was on the side of Henry.

"Good luck, Hen and Jasper!", Charlotte says.

"Thanks, Char!", Henry and Jasper say in unison.

[Ms. Shapen starts the test. Charlotte and Jasper seem like they know what they're doing. On the other hand, Henry seems confused... about everything. He looks over at Charlotte, who looks pretty when she's focused, and then he looks at Jasper, whose probably thinking about buckets. After looking at them both, he goes to the first question.

"What year did World War I start?", Henry says to himself.

"Oh yeah..., 1936...", He says... confident in his answer.

[This goes on until the timer for the test goes off. After they turn it in, they dismiss. Henry, Charlotte, and Jasper stand at their lockers, talking about the test.]

"How do you guys think you did on the test?, Charlotte says, taking out her lunch.

"I think I did alright. What about you, Hen?", Jasper asks.

"I did gooooood", Henry exaggerates. Charlotte rolls her eyes and smiles.

[The bell rings for lunch. Everyone goes to the cafeteria. Henry and Charlotte go to the lunch hand in hand, while Jasper thinks about Piper.]
