Over in the Mystery Shack, the gang was getting the place cleaned up and ready for a big day, because today, the Pines were having some friends over.
"Wendy! I need you for a sec!" said Mabel. "Which sweater do you think I should wear today? I was gonna go with the kittens at first, but then I saw the puppies and decided that I'm in a mood for dogs, but I also am in a "kitten" mood today."
"Since when did you start caring about what sweater you wore?" asked Wendy. "I thought you also just went with whatever you laid your eyes on first."
"I do, and that's why I'm having trouble deciding. I saw both of these at the same time, but I gotta pick just one sweater that everyone will see," said Mabel.
"You know, seeing as how our guests are, you know, maybe you instead of dogs and cats, you could wear something a bit more... relevant?" said Wendy.
"Uh, what do you mean?" said Mabel.
"Ducks," said Wendy. "I'm saying you should go with ducks."
Mabel gasped. "Wendy! You're a genius!" she said as she ran to room to change sweaters.
"So, tell me again why the Ducks visiting the Shack is a big deal?" Wendy asked. "Haven't they been here before?"
"Wendy, all days when a friend comes are a special occasion," said Mabel.
"How often is it that you get to meet with one of the greatest adventuring families of all time," said Soos. "Those guys love mysteries and action, so a place like Gravity Falls is like a gold mine for them!"
Wendy smirked and went back to reading her magazines.
"Soos! How's the Shack looking?" asked Mabel excitedly.
"Looking good!" said Soos. "So clean you could eat right off of it! In fact, I just did!"
...
"Probably should've left out that last part."
Just then, they heard a knock on the door.
"EEEH!" cried Mabel. "They're here!"
