SOPHIE'S POV

After I had returned to the Vamp-House, Alice came sprinting out, grabbing me.

"You need to come with me." Her pixie face looked troubled. So I followed her inside.

Eddie, Emmett and all except for Bella and Renesme were hanging out in the open plan house. They all looked troubled.

"What's wrong?" I asked.

Even Rosalie had replaced her sour face with fear. Jeez, who died.

"The Volturi aren't exactly pleased with us killing their messengers." Carlisle said, holding the bridge of his nose as if he had a headache.

Did vampires get migraines? It must be nice not to be in pain like us mere mortals.

"What does that mean?" I asked, trying not to aggravate anyone.

Pixie chimed in instead. "I saw them. They're coming. And this time, I don't think they'll leave without some sort of conflict."

My eyes were wide and I felt sick. I had literally just started controlling my phasing and now I had to phase to help out. Eddie looked at me.

"No one is going to make you fight." He told me bluntly.

I rolled my eyes. "You think I'm sitting out of this, you are dumber than my brother."

Mentioning him hurt, but it made my point. And it also gained me a few smiles. Look at me, the vamp comedian.

"We need a plan." Emmett-bear declared, as if no one else knew that.

No shit, Sherlock. I muttered in my head. That awarded me an immensely annoyed expression from Eddie. What? Everyone else was thinking it. As I thought that, I wondered if they were. It must be annoying hearing everyone's inner thoughts. I bet the pack all think about the stupidest stuff. That must get really old. He nodded to me, as if what I were thinking was his whole life.

Poor you, Eddie. I offered him condolences for his extremely annoying vamp-gift.

"I think we will have to ask the pack to help us." Carlisle said, knowing what that meant.

My heart began to pound. I hadn't seen them in over a week. But if this was what was needed, then that's what we would do. We needed all the help we could get to protect Nessie.

"I'm in. Just… Don't tell them I'm here. Not yet." I pleaded. I needed time.

Carlisle nodded, making my body relax again.

Let's do this.

JACOB'S POV

I was coming home from one of my patrols when I caught a scent. It was… sweet. Like berries. And then I realised where I'd smelt it before.

Sophie.

The scent was recent. Which meant that she had been here. Paul had obviously caught my train of thought and was like an annoying puppy.

She's here! Sophie's here! His annoying voice screeched in my head. He was gonna give me a headache if he kept this up.

Shut the fuck up, Paul. I didn't have to be near him to know he was gonna bite my head off for saying that.

But seriously, who cares?

Sophie was here and I needed to focus. Not have him screaming at me. So I followed the trail all the way to the border. I whined as I paced the edge. She was over there. She was just out of my reach and I couldn't get to her.

They're harbouring her! Paul shouted in my head.

That would make sense. But Dr. Leech said that she wasn't there. Did she ask him to lie for her? I honestly couldn't buy into the idea that she would hide with our natural enemies, but it was possible.

I also knew if I went over that line, I would be breaking the treaty.

SCREW THE TREATY! I WANT MY SISTER BACK! Paul shouted at me.

I wanted her back too. More than anything. I wanted to fix everything.

...And also get to her before Cole told her about his nose.

Will both of you shut it? Seriously! Quil was getting annoyed by us. Screw him, we had enough reason to be like this.

You know you can't just go running over there. He reminded both of us.

Damn him for being reasonable. I wanted to charge over there and tear my way through every obstacle to get to her.

So I walked away, feeling defeated.

I'm coming for you, Soph.

SOPHIE'S POV

I was sitting in Cullen's living room, Renesme playing with my hair, which had already begun to grow back. My wolf gene was finally doing me a favour. Eddie was pacing the floor as the others sat or stood anxiously.

"Edward, please." Bella, who was sitting beside me, grasped his hand gently.

Eddie was not in the mood.

"I just hate all this waiting around." He seemed so anxious.

"Daddy, can Sophie and I play in the garden now?" Nessie asked, her eyes wide.

He didn't exactly look comfortable with that idea. But staring at her cute face, even the hardest bastard would melt.

"Fine, but stay together. And don't go further than that." He told us, angry and afraid.

I knew Eddie was worried, but I never really thought of Vamps having feelings and worries. It made me feel like they were a bit more… human. Weird.

Ness clambered onto my back, her arm pointing out.

"Charge!" She shouted.

I couldn't help but laugh. She was the cutest thing ever, and she had this little pout that made her look like she was trying to be scary.

"Yes, m'am!" I skipped outside with her on my back.

It was nice having her around. At least I had some company that wasn't completely vampire.

I heard footsteps and froze. Nessie grabbed my shoulders. Someone was here. But that smell. It wasn't a vampire it was…

"Seth?"

His figure emerged from the trees, and he stared at me in shock.

"Sophie?"

Thank you to everyone that has read this story.

I wrote this when I was 17 years old, and just starting out writing and creating.

I'm still learning now, but I am very appreciative to everyone who has taken the time to read and comment.

After 5 years, I decided it was time to continue the adventure.
