Hello guys! Before everything else, this story is a continuation of my first fic entitled Winter Garden: Low Key.
The Wedding Day
Here I am, waiting for the church doors to open. Bells ringing, people cheering.
I'm finally getting married. For so many years, I patiently waited for this day. I can't wait to spend my life with him, the man who loves me unconditionally.
We are a match made in heaven and a perfect match here on Earth.
"Are you ready?" My bridesmaid, Chu Min-ha, approached me.
"Totally," I respond.
The last bell rang. It's starting. This is it, now or never.
The entourage began. Dr. Bong, as well, one of our primary sponsors lead the cortege. Guess who's the ring bearer? Yes, it's Uju.
The bridesmaid, the groomsmen, every person on the list already made the march.
The doors finally opened. Everyone's attention is on me now. I took my first step to forever and I know there's no turning back.
I saw my parents walking towards me. I can see the tears on their eyes, I can tell that they're scared letting me go, and proud at the same time.
I paused for a moment, gave them a hug.
"Mom, Dad. I'll be fine. You don't need to worry about me."
It wasn't easy holding back my tears, but I had to. They finally calmed down and escorted me to the altar.
It's nice to see some familiar faces. My friends from Bong's Saloon are present. Also, my beloved professor, Prof. Lee Ik-jun, who insisted to become my wedding singer is here, actually his whole family - Uju, and his wife, the ever-gorgeous Ghost of Yulje, Professor Chae Song Hwa. Prof. Seokhyeong is playing the piano, he said this is the last thing he can do for me. Professor Kim Junwan is also present, beside him is her fiance, Lee Ik-sun unnie.
I'm almost halfway, few more steps to forever.
I finally got a glimpse of him, he was right there, waiting for me, ready to swear his love till death do us part.
Ahn Jeongwon.
Since I have known you, life has never been sweeter.
Thanks to you, my life had never been more exciting and full of happiness.
From the very first time I saw you, I knew that my life would never ever be the same again.
There are so many people out there in the world, but you are the one person in the entire universe that I can imagine happily growing old with.
I truly cannot believe how lucky I am to have found you.
Being with you is like being in a dream that I never want to wake up from.
But then, I woke up.
6 months before the wedding
I stopped by at a church to pray and pay some respect also. It's already at 7 o'clock in the evening so there's no crowd. But the sky was dark, a sign that rain will be pouring soon. As I was about to head in, I heard loud footsteps so I turned around.
I saw a familiar silhouette of a man walking towards me. It was dark, so I can barely see.
"It's been a long time, Dr. Jang."
That voice. As he gets closer to the light, I can't help myself but gasp. It was him. Ahn Jeongwon.
I guess one year is a very long time. He was smiling, how could he?
I was angry, I have so many questions. Why did he suddenly disappear? No words from him? Does he know how much pain he caused me?
I want to scream, but I can't. I became speechless.
All the anger, the hate, just disappeared. I miss him, God I really do.
I wanted to hug him, to kiss him, to tell him how much I wanted to hold him in my arms.
My eyes were getting moist. I don't want to tear up in front of him. I have to control what I'm feeling right now.
"Yes, It's been a long time," I answered.
Before I can utter another word, I saw the Head Priest coming to our direction.
"Doctor Jang, It's good to see you."
"Yes, Father. It's good to see you too."
I bowed to show my respect.
"Brother Ahn, we've been waiting for your arrival." The Head Priest added.
I looked at him with confusion. I don't understand.
Our eyes met, and he knew that I wanted answers.
My heart sunk. It feels like if a piece of your heart was ripped from your chest and like if something was constantly stabbing your heart.
Brother Ahn.
Did I hear it right? It can't be.
NOTE: So, what do you think? Heheheheh
