Greg sniffled as he stepped out of the morgue to where Nick and Doc Robbins were waiting.

"Are you okay Greg?" Doc asked him softly.

Greg nodded and turned away, "I'm sorryI came down here."

Doc shook his head, "You don't have to apologise. If you want to come and see him again just let me know and I'll get him ready for you."

Greg looked back to him and smiled his thanks before walking back to the lab.

Nick clapped Doc on his arm before going after Greg, "Hey man," he said as he reached him. "Look i'm sorry for what I said earlier. Let me take you to my place, you can stay there as long as you want. Please Greg, let me help you."

Greg squeezed his eyes shut and let his last few tears fall. He didn't say anything so Nick spoke again.

"Man, I promise you I don't mind. You're my best friend, you've been through so much and I just want to be there for you. So please, let me."

Greg looked at him and nodded, following Nick to the lab and out to his truck.

When they arrived at Nick's house, Greg slowly followed him up the path to his house and then followed him inside.

"Make yourself at home" Nick said as he gestured to his living room. "Can I get you a drink? Something to eat?" he asked as Greg tentatively sat down, grimacing slightly as pain jolted through his body.

Greg shook his head and leant back on the couch, closing his eyes.

Nick came over and sat at the other end of his couch, making Greg opens his eyes as the cushions sunk slightly. "Do you need some painkillers?" Nick asked him quietly.

Greg rolled his head along his couch a little.

Nick nodded, even though Greg's eyes had closed again. "Okay, let me know if you need anything at all, whatever you need I'll get it for you."

He didn't get a reply, so Nick stood and headed into his kitchen where he rang Russell to tell him he had taken Greg back to his house.

An hour later, Greg jumped awake, still resting on Nick's couch. He looked around and turned to the kitchen where he heard Nick moving about.

He rubbed his eyes and moved to stand up, however as he did another jolt of pain ran through his body. He gasped slightly and Nick came through from the kitchen.

"Hey, what's wrong?" he asked, reaching his hand out to touch his friend's shoulder.

Greg flinched and shuffled back slightly, making Nick drop his hand.

"You okay Greg?" Nick asked again.

He nodded and sat up a little bit straighter, "I'm fine."

Nick nodded, not fully believing him. "I'm making some food, you want some?"

Greg shook his head and rubbed a hand over his face. He was so, so tired.

"I've set up the spare room, you wanna go try get some sleep in there?" Nick asked him, feeling guilty still about how he'd treated his friend.

Greg nodded and pushed himself up as Nick stood, ready to lead him to his room.

When they reached his room where he would be staying, Greg saw a small pile of clothes laid on the bed for him.

"I figured you'd need some clothes to change into" Nick started, "I can go out later and pick your stuff up from the hotel."

Greg smiled at him a little. "Are you sure about this?"

Nick noddedand smiled back, "I told you, it's fine. I've got some making up to do, so consider this the start of that."

Greg nodded slowly and waited for Nick to speak. After an awkward silence Nick spoke again, "I'll leave you to it then. You know where the bathroom is, help youself to whatever. Same goes for anything in the kitchen. Try and get some rest." he told Greg as he left and pulled the door shut.

Picking up the clothes Nick had left him, Greg checked them out, unfolding the tshirt and looking at the jogger pants he had left him. He was pretty sure they would be too big for him but it was better than nothing, and he could see Nick was trying.

Changing as fast as he could, Greg soon turned back the covers of the bed and climbed in. Closing his eyes, he tried his best to fall to sleep but he couldn't. His mind was racing with the events of the last few weeks. He lay there for as long as he could before he couldn't stand to lie there anymore.

It had been around two hours when Nick heard Greg open the door and come out of his room. He looked up and smiled as he headed to the kitchen.

Getting out of his seat, Nick followed him and smiled, "Hey, did you manage to sleep at all?" he asked as Greg slowly sat in one of his chairs and shook his head.

Nick frowned and sat next to him. "Why not?"

Looking over to him, Greg sighed, "I just think everything's finally catching up with me." he told him as he rubbed his eyes, feeling the obvious sting behind them and the tears starting to form.

"Hey" Nick said, wanting to reach over and comfort him, but knowing he didn't really want anyone touching him. "Do you want to talk about anything?" he offered.

Greg leant forward onto the table and rubbed his hands over his face and head.

"I just can't believe he's gone. I miss him so much" he admitted, letting his tears roll down his face.

Nick reached over and gently put his arm around his friends shoulders. He felt Greg flinch but was surprised he didn't shuffle away. "I'm so sorry, man. How long were you together?" he asked, unsure if he was going to overstep the mark.

Greg wiped away his tears and sat up a little straighter, "Almost a year."

"Geez man, did you tell anyone? At work?" Nick asked.

Greg shook his head, "I didn't tell anyone."

Nick rubbed his arm, "I'm sorry man. I'm sorry you didn't feel you could tell anyone."

Greg wiped his eyes again and took a deep breath. "It's fine. I can't understand why they chose him though... or me."

Greg's eyes began to moisten again and he sniffled as he held in his tears the best that he could.

Nick pulled him in gently towards his chest and hugged him with both arms. Nick couldn't understand it either. Granted he didn't know Danny, but he knew Greg. And if they were together, Nick knew Danny must have been as good of a person as Greg was. "I'm going to get them Greg. Me and the team, we'll get them. I'm going to make them regret what they did to you. You and Danny."

Greg pulled away and smiled at him. "I'm sorry."

Shaking his head, Nick frowned, "You have nothing to be sorry for."

Rubbing his eyes and leaning back onto the table, Greg spoke quietly, "I kissed Morgan."

Nick's eyebrows rose involuntary. "When?"

"Earlier, at the lab..." Greg sighed, "I don't know how it happened. I'm such a bad person." He said and cried again.

"Hey, stop right there. You're not a bad person at all" Nick said quickly.

"Whatever happened, it takes two people to kiss Greg."

Greg just shook his head and put his head in his hands, so Nick once again pulled him into a hug, wondering how that had happened.
