Defective One
Chapter 2 First Steps

A few days later a new batch of clones were fully grown and ready to be awaken, including the one Prime had tampered with. The clone that had been tampered with was registered as Horde Brother 626, or simply H626. H626 woke up from his pod and took in his surroundings with wonder and curiosity. He knew he was a clone of Horde Prime and that he would serve him in his mission to conquer the universe and bring light and order to it. H626 knew all of this thanks to his connection to the hive mind and he would gladly serve and do anything for Prime, yet he had a sense of self and the world around him. He was interested in the science and tech around him, but he had no idea if the interest came from himself or the hive mind.
One of the senior clones overseeing the cloning lab had the new batch of clones move to another part of the ship for weapons training and certification. The clones along with H626 were lead to a large room where they were given arm blasters and told to shoot holographic targets. The test was simply to make sure there were no defects in any of the clones eyesight or coordination. One by one each of the clones was told to use the arm blaster to shoot a total of the three moving targets. Each clone did as they were told and fired three shots and took out the three targets. H626 watched his brothers do the test and began to see movement patters and trajectory of the targets. He also found a panel on the arm blaster, he opened it up and began to mess around with the wiring to give his blaster a bit more power then the others. When it was his turn to do the test H626 followed the targets, until they all ended up lined up together and fired. A powerful blast fired from the blaster and destroyed all three targets in one shot. H626 felt a bit of excitement go through his body at what he had just accomplished. He turned to his fellow clones who stared back at him blankly not sure how to respond. H626 just bowed his head and joined the rest of the clones.
One of the clones overseeing the test shook slightly as Prime took control of it and used it's eyes to observe H626 in action and was a little impressed by what the experiment had accomplished so soon after leaving the pod. Prime was pleased and he wondered how the clone would do in the field against actual enemies.
