"Tikki I'm late!" Mari screech broke my slumber. I was exhausted from a restless night. The young kwami (?) girl lay fast asleep under my shelf. Mari's awkward movements crashed as she sleepily made her way to the closet. Suddenly I realized that she was certain to notice the "random" girl in her closet and panicked. I grabbed the best matched outfit I could find in ten seconds and stuffed it in to Mari's arms.
"Hurry- late- BREAKFAST!" I screech-stuttered. She looked confused for a second but took the outfit (which actually wasn't too bad, a golden top with teal swirls matched with an aqua skirt with white tights that were sewn with golden thread. I had also grabbed a white and blue light summer jacket and golden short heals) and put it on. She accessorized it with gold heart shaped locket and blue and aqua charm bracelet. Once she had brushed her hair and pulled it up in a bun with a white scrunchy I shoved her out the trapdoor and downstairs for breakfast. I sighed lucky that she was too tired to notice that anything was amiss the realized that I had to go to school.
The 2 year old (I had decided after reading some online parenting advice) was never going to fit in my holders bag. I fretted for a minute then remembered the pendent I had enchanted, I could enter my miraculous surely she get magic her way in, it was super easy and fun if you asked me. I woke up my daughter and coaxed her out of the closet.
"Mamma!" She cheered clapping her small-large hands together.
"Shussshhh," I whispered pleadingly while glancing over to the trapdoor. When Marinette didn't emerge I breathed a sigh of relief. "Here," I offered the magic pendant to my child who was on the verge of tears. She looked up at me and smiled, taking the pendant from my hands. She played with it, spinning the necklace round and round in her hands. I though back to the parenting tips and realized I had to teach the child. I grabbed a pair of earrings from one of the boxes on Marinette's desk and flew back to the giggling toddler. I placed the earrings on the floor and waved my hands in front my child, gaining her attention.
"Mamma Play!" She cheered.
"Yes..." then it hit me I was yet to name my daughter. I flew to Marinette's computer and bounced on the keyboard spelling out my question: What are girl names that mean creation? and search. Lists of names and meanings flew past my eyes when finally one stood out, Daifa, A Majestic Creation I read, perfect. It had the kwami signature of having 2 of the same letters yet was different as those letters were split apart, it also had 5 letters like most of the other kwamis, plus the meaning was perfect. Daifa is a beautiful, amazing creation, even if she was a bit of a surprise.
"Mamma?" Daifa called confused. Oh poor darling I had been talking to her before I had just left without a word. Daifa stared at me as she outstretched her hands with the pendant. I flew back to her and placed the necklace on the floor in front of her.
"Daifa, Daifa," I called gently. It took her a moment to realize that I was talking to her before she watched me. "Like this," I coaxed. I flew behind the earrings and hoped it would be enough for to understand. She stared at me confused before lying down behind her pendant and covering her eyes with her hands. I sighed before floating in front of her face. "Inside the necklace, Daifa, but nice try," I replied. When she didn't react except removing her hands I tried once again to show her by passing through the necklace into the floor below than back up to a confused toddler who was searching around for me. I repeated the action to no avail but I was proud of Daifa for trying. I hugged her before hearing footstep approaching, hurriedly I slipped the necklace around Daifa's neck and tossed the earrings on Mari's desk. I rushed the toddler back to the closet before handing her the Ladybug doll when she started to cry.
"Tikki, can you find my science project please, I need to fill my purse with cookies before we leave and we're already gonna be a few minutes late," Mari explained.
"Sure, umm could you also grab so jelly filled croissants. - I umm feel like mixing in something new today," I added when she sent me a questioning glance. She nodded and closed the trap door. I grabbed a large box and poked air holes in it and coated it in blankets before luring Daifa and the Ladybug doll in with a Chat Noir plushy. I grabbed Mari's project and speed flew it to school and slipped it into her locker before flying back before Daifa or Mari could notice I was gone. I checked the time when I got back and was relieved to see it only took me a minute and a half. I packed Daifa's box with a few more toys and covered her body with a blanket to keep her warm, I would really need to find a way to get her new clothes. I settled Daifa down with a pink heart shaped night-light when she started whining because of the dark and I was ready to go.
"Is that my project Tikki?" Marinette asked puzzled when she came back up to find a large box packaged to go.
"Umm, ya I didn't want Chloe to see it and destroy it because it's better than her's," I lied.
"OK? But why the large box, I didn't think my project was that big," Mari questioned.
"I didn't have time to find a better box now hurry you're late!" I ended the conversation. I noticed how Mari looked surprised when it took more force to lift the box then she had expected but luckily she didn't question it and use the mussels she had gained from being Ladybug to carry the box to school. I had to make a weird sound to cover up whenever Daifa whined from the box being jiggled to much but Mari was to much in a hurry to do anything other then send me a questioning glance.
We arrived at school and Mari set the box down by her locker as she went to get a late slip from the principal and I took that moment to switch Daifa and her supplies with Mari's project. I combined my magic with Daifa's and was able to phase her through the ground into the unused basement where I set up a playpen for her out of boxes and random what-not before flying back up to Marinette who rushed her project to class after tossing me a cookie and croissant. She was in such a rush she didn't notice that I wasn't in her purse or that I had phased through the floor where I gave Daifa little broken pieces of the jelly croissant while I ate my cookie. Now I just had to make it through the school day and hopefully Hawkmoth would spare the akumas until Daifa could enter her pendant. I really hated the idea of leaving her alone and there was no such thing as magical nannies.
