Yo, I know I haven't been updating my other story I started, but I actually have a good reason, maybe. I was shifting through my docs and found the next chapter to be missing, I had been updating it every once in awhile but was busy. I can't even remember the last time I updated it but apparently, it somehow gotten deleted by me, and every other chapter plans that was supposed to happen next. Maybe I was tired that night just from staying up late updating it, and then had writers block when I can't seem to remember what was the plan I put down when it was deleted, gave up when I tried typing it again from scratch, and decided to take a break from writing. Now I'm back after a few months of absence, reading other stories here and there, trying to pump myself up writing again, until I decided to get borderlands. Still need to buy 2, and maybe 1, but when I played the first run through in BL3 with fl4k, 2 days, Amara 1 day and 18 hours, Zane 14 hours, and Moze 8 hours and a half. Friends called me a speed runner, also called me too dedicated to the game. I agreed. Excited for DLC4 trailer though, three days as of now.
2020/08/23: As of now, bought the borderlands 2 something kind of edition too lazy to remember it, and playing through right now. Bought it late at night though, so will continue playing at a later date to understand characters.
"Yo." Someone spoke beside him as he continued to walk towards direction of the café.
"Hmm?" He looked to the side to see his brother. "What do you want?"
"Oh, nothing, just want to talk about things." His brother replied, putting his hands in his pockets. He stayed silent.
He narrowed his eyes. "If this is about her death, I'm over it."
"Lui..." His brother sighed, pausing in his steps. "Wait, it's not about that..."
Lui paused. "What then?"
"The missions you're taking... Isn't it time for you to take a break?" He questioned.
"Kristiand... I know I'm taking a lot of missions lately... but this isn't about her, this isn't how I cope anyway." Lui said, taking a sigh, rubbing his forehead. "If you have any more questions 'Zero' I'll gladly answer them. But if not, find someone to bother with, I'm just getting my coffee I ordered earlier and going on to the next mission." He continued his journey, not really caring if he called him Zero in public.
"Wait!" Zero shouted after him. He ran to him. He grinned. "As your leader, I want you to take a break."
Lui paused mid-step. "Excuse me?" He narrowed his eyes. "If this is your way of telling me to stop, then it isn't going to work."
Zero started to rub his head.
Lui growled. "What. Did. You. Do?"
"Ha ha," Zero laughed nervously. "I may or may not have sanctioned you to stop taking missions and put you on a break instead..."
"You're an idiot." Lui grunted. He looked to his side. Maybe he does need a break. With all the missions that would have killed other than his squad, and he himself going on solo missions, ignoring his siblings worries, maybe he does need it. "Fine." He spoke after a certain amount of thinking.
Zero's eyes brightened up. "Good, good, thought you would say no, but Zoe has a location where you can still kills things but also take a vacation there, if you want it."
"You guys have been planning this for how long?" He questioned.
"A couple of months..."
"Just for little ole me?" He felt touched.
"Yeah, with the missions you're taking, one would hope you would come back alive you know? A break is needed for you with how long you have been at it. Anyway, get your coffee and meet back at Zoe's, she'll probably be excited for you to agree." Zero waved his hand as he left.
"Probably my ass, she will be excited." He shook his head. His thoughts wondered as he went to grab his coffee.
He arrived at his sister's place. He knocked at the door, which was opened almost immediately.
"Lui!" His sister, Zoe, opened the door as soon he knocked, probably been waiting there for some time. "I knew you would agree."
"Yeah, yeah, let's get this over with squirt." He rubbed her head affectionately as he went inside. He looked around her apartment. Still big as usual. "So what's this place Zero was talking about anyway?"
"Dimension DF41," Zoe says, taking a look at him. She had a thought in her head. "Looks like your tattoos aren't glowing the normal color right now." She questioned, motioning to his arms. "You really need this vacation, I mean look at you, all grumpy and war-torn and all. Even your tattoos haven't even glowed right at all this time and they were before." Huh. he didn't notice. "Are your powers dwindling or something? Or is it something else?"
"Zoe... At least I can trust you with this..." Lui sighed, watching as his sister taking this seriously. He nodded in approval. "They were glowing blue before when I'm happy, they are red when I'm sad or angry, they turn black when I'm on a mission, and they turn white when I'm sleeping. Side affects from the experiments Zero and I was on before we grew this powerful."
Zoe looked at his arm. "It's red..." She whispered. She looked up to his face. "I see... But no matter." She had a determined face. "Come here, vacation is just around the corner." She snapped her fingers and a portal came to view, a snow biome appearing before him. "You take of yourself while your gone alright?"
Lui made a face. She laughed. "You're immune to the cold and hot anyway, don't be such a baby."
"It get's into my boots and clothes if I fall you know?" Lui grumbled as he walked forward. He paused before entering from what could be the last time he sees his sister for awhile. "Take care..." He said, then entered, Zoe watching as she closed behind him.
"'Kay." She whispered.
A blizzard here already? That sneaky prankster. Getting one last shot in before he could even say anything.
He trudged on, wondering where the hell could he be. "This fucking weather won't stop!" He shouted out to no one. He had been, from what every time he looked at his watch, walking for 20 minutes with no town in sight. This blizzard is really annoying him. What a vacation this is already...
"I swear I thought I could find a town within minutes but this takes the cake..." He muttered, and that's when he noticed it. Blood, and some kind of substance. From what he could smell, it's a few minutes since this person has been walking. A human perhaps, injured, and because he had emitting killer intent for a fifty mile radius, the person probably won't get eaten if there are monsters around. He sighed, following the path this person had put out for themselves. Maybe he could find some answers for himself.
He walked on through the snow, he thoughts wondering. He stopped when he heard faint gasping. His eyes scanned in front of him. Ah, there, a woman with a hoodie, fading in and out? Fuck! He ran towards the woman, dreading the worse. He stopped beside her, taking of her pulse, and not waiting to ask her if she's ok, made his hands glow with power before putting them on her body.
Her body has been deteriorating rapidly, flicking in and out of the physical realm. He never knew someone he just found would be like this...
Skin color and clothes started to appear back to her physical form as he finally had a hole where her cells supposed to be, returning them. He started to notice the tattoos she had on her, which wasn't there before. He furrowed his eyebrow. An experiment like me? Or something else... Her breathing returned to normal.
He sighed, flipping her over gently, looking for the wound where he didn't find any behind her. He raised his eyebrows in surprise.
Nothing.
It must have been healed after her body stopped flickering in and out of existence when he stopped it. Even her clothes were fixed. Huh, that was helpful, he thought.
He can't leave her like this... He sighed, slowly picking her up bridal style. "T?" He said out of nowhere. Lui assumed he followed him through the portal like he usually does.
A visible haze appeared before his eyes, stopping its cloaking, revealing itself.
A drone made by him when he was bored, and decided to make it an A.I. It took sometime to build him, but it worked out in the end.
"Yes?" T spoke, wondering what his master could be asking of him.
"Where's the nearest town?"
"There is no town within a hundred miles from here." T said, watching his masters emotions. Lui frowned. "But I could give you the direction of an abandoned home I was scouting earlier."
"Alright, teleport us there." He said.
"Understood." T glowed bright, and then taking his master with him, disappearing from view.
"This is a dump you know?"
"Well at least I found you a place." T snarked. "This place is completely desolate, but I could place some appliances if its to your liking?"
"Please do." Lui spoke, looking around the place. "Can you place a bed right here?"
"Understood." T teleported a bed Lui recognized.
Lui's eye twitched, his face going through several emotions while maintaining a blank state. He sighed. He shifted his hold on the woman before laying her down on the most comfortable bed he had as a back up.
"Lucky you." He muttered, looking at her tattoo's for a bit. "T, can you scan this woman and tell me what she is? I hope she isn't an experiment like me."
"A Siren." T spoke behind him, replacing the worn out stove with a more futuristic version. "Cold or hot showers?" He went into the next room.
"Both, just incase." Lui answered. A Siren huh? Never knew he would meet one of those warriors of old. But what of it that made her this way from the incident before?
"What do you have left for food T?" He asked his drone.
"Everything was restocked by your sister, so we should have plenty of enough food to last us for several months."
"The backup food?"
"Several years, as restocked by your sister too."
"Huh." He smiled, Zoe is always prepared for everyone, but she didn't have to overstock the food in T... Did she think he might be gone for a long time?
"I'll get the burner working can you make a couple of soup cans appear?" He asked.
Cans of chicken soup appeared on the stove.
"Hey, you're getting better, never knew you can finally make things appear somewhere without you looking now buddy." He commented.
"I practice." T passed by him. "I'll be watching the woman if she stirs, you continue cooking."
"Yeah, yeah..." He teleported a pot in his hand, putting it over the stove. "If she awakens, don't scare her."
"I won't, but no promises."
She woke up with an headache. Eyes opening to see a roof over her head. She rose, rubbing her head. Where the hell is she? That was when she noticed the floating robot looking at her.
"Ah, you're finally awake." The robot spoke, watching her move her legs off the bed. "Are you alright? Master found you disappearing from the realm of the living."
"Sorry?" The woman replied, trying to get her headache in control.
"Sorry, I'll repeat what I have said. Are you alright woman with the long blue hair?"
"I'm fine," She answered, looking around for her gun.
"We have found you empty without any weapons on you, if you're wondering. Though do you like soup? Master should be done by now." The robot spoke, turning around to the other living being in the room.
The woman looked where the robot was looking at. Huh, the man was was tall. Dressed into an black long sleeve shirt, black combat pants, and black combat boots, he looked like an ordinary soldier. Though his mismatched hair color of black and white suits him.
"Master?" The robot asked.
"Hmm?" The master turned around. "Oh, you're finally awake! Trying to cross the border of living aren't you?" He said, taking a bowl from the side and filling it with the soup, walking towards the bed after. "If you're wondering, it ain't poisoned."
He put it on the table beside the bed, a spoon appearing inside the bowl.
Her eyes were widened when she saw this.
"So, you have a name?" He asked. He nodded towards the soup. "Like I said, don't worry about it being poisoned." He sat on the chair in front of her. Wait, was it there before? Her head hurt.
"Here take this, should help with your headache." He gave her a pill and a bottled of water. Which she took without any questions. She tossed the pill into her mouth and drank the water. She sighed as the headache was gone almost instantly.
"So name?" He asked again.
"Maya." She answered.
"Lui Dark. So what is a Siren doing out in the timeline of the dead?" He asked. He made no move to get closer to her. Which brought her relief, if he knew her as a Siren and bounty on her head, she would have been dead by now.
"I..." She frowned. Wait. "Timeline of the dead?"
"You died." He bluntly said, which shocked Maya. "Although I did bring you back to life, you were being sent to either the living or the dead. You were disappearing from my eyes. Had to hurry though, Death almost had you."
"I-I died?" She was shocked.
"Yeah, I hope you remember what had happened before you were dead." He said. "But first, eat up, your soup is getting cold." He grabbed the bowl and he offered it to her. She took it. She finished it a few minutes later, her stomach feeling full after eating.
"So, do you remember how you died?"
Maya racked her brain for the answer. Ah she... Remembered.
"I died after Troy Calypso took my powers and turned me into dust." She spoke, grimacing of how she died. She looked to her arm where her tattoos supposed to be, only to widened them in shock. Her powers were still here? She can't feel them as she was drained but... Her powers were still here? "W-What?!"
"What?" Lui was confused.
"I-I remember losing my powers! But they're still here?" She was confused, she looked to her savior.
"Oh, when I was restoring you to the living, looks like your Siren powers came back, didn't notice them on your arm till later when you were healed." He answered.
"W-What kind of power would you have to do that?" She died, was resurrected, and now talking to her savior as if this a normal thing for him.
He rolled up his sleeves. A array of tattoos were on both of his arms, which shocked Maya. She went to touch them but stopped herself.
"You're a male Siren?" She asked.
"Nope."
What? "Then what are you?" She asked, this man in front of her is really confusing.
"An experiment." He said, rolling down one of his sleeves. "Not a Siren experiment, but more of a super soldier kind. You'll learn to see what this soldier can do one day." He spoke. His tattoos were glowing from different colors as he had a faraway look in his eyes.
Her saviors tattoos were changing color. Now she wanted to touch them.
"I can see in your eyes." He laughed out loud, watching as Maya blushed. "Go ahead, I won't bite." He raised his arm for her to touch.
"I-I shouldn't..."
"But you want too? Go ahead, it's not like they bother me anyway." He spoke.
"Fine..." She went to touch, hesitating for a bit.
"Hesitating will get you killed you know?"
"I know that!" She said, annoyed. She finally touched his arms. She felt them only once and the power that was coursing through his arm. She pulled back after touching for a bit. "You're strong." She said.
"I know, but I'm more or less equal to my brother." He said. "Nothing fits the power of SSS ranking power than my team."
"SSS?" She asked.
"Ah, ranking goes from E to SSS. Can defeat anything, by any means. Play dirty, use the strongest attacks or play it careful, where we don't care about playing it carefully unless its a SSS ranking hostage situation, which I hate." She was shocked, sure, but she is used to mysterious things happening in her life.
"So..." She was wondering about something. "You can appear things out of thin air right?"
He nodded his head.
"Then can you teleport?"
"Yes, I can. Where are you going with this?"
"You think you can teleport me to Sanctuary?"
"Sanctuary?" He asked.
"A ship." She told him.
"A ship? Then give me sometime to find it. T?" He called.
"Searching." T said, pausing in mid air to look for the ship.
Maya bore her eyes onto the robot.
"He's an A.I." Lui answered her thought.
"An A.I.? Never thought I would live to see one." She said.
"Made him myself, and as smart as he is, he has some quirks about him that annoy me to no end." He bumped T on the head, which made the the robot grumble but continued his search.
"Found it."
"Already? That was quick, should have took you a couple of minutes."
"My record was two minutes and twenty three seconds, it is now forty four seconds."
"Nice going T." Lui laughed. "I knew that new processor for you was good, look at how fast you go now."
"Teleportation ready as of now, I'll be ready to teleport you to Sanctuary." T spoke.
"Can you stand?" He asked, offering his hand. She nodded taking his hand. He pulled her up. She wobbled, but two hands held her to balance her.
"Thanks..." She whispered. He nodded, letting go of her.
"Well, stand close to T, he would be able to teleport us there. First, T take everything here first that belonged to us then we can go."
T nodded his drone body. Maya watched as the appliances and the bed disappeared before her eyes. This still surprised her as how everything was gone before her eyes.
"Weird, but I shouldn't be surprised." She muttered to herself. He heard her but made no comment.
"Here, stand here." He motioned close to the drone, standing close. She moved beside the floating drone.
"Ready?" He asked her.
"Ready as I'll ever be for teleporting..." She said nervously.
"Relax will ya, T's teleporting never failed, never has now." He said. "If it worries you, if something goes wrong, I'll teleport us there too since T gave me the coordinates."
"Alright then." She said, relaxing her body. "I'll be trusting you on this you know T, and you too Lui. I hope." She muttered the last part.
"T Let's go." A sword appeared on Lui's waist, being watched by fascinated eyes of Maya.
Before she could say anything, she felt herself disappear instantly.
When she opened her eyes, she was in a familiar space she had been on for sometime before her untimely death.
Surprised shocked eyes were looking at her.
"Uh, hey." Maya was nervous, she shouldn't be but she is. She waved a hand, locking onto the eyes of Lilith, then her apprentice, who had been looking like she had seen a ghost.
The feeling of someone crashing into her body was the feeling she felt after coming back alive and being on deck of Sanctuary.
Tears were pouring.
"Hey, Ava." Maya spoke, warmly smiling at her apprentice as she was bawling her eyes and staining her clothing.
"I'm back."
I'm tired, continued typing this at a later date. It's also 1 in the morning. Shouldn't be awake right now. But I finished this chapter, will continue on updating when I feel like updating this. But anyway, how was the chapter? I forgot how fanfics work as I've been so into reading different genres. Comment? Is that a thing in here? Can't remember if that is what it's called. Haven't been in the fanfiction typing business in so long I forgot how this site works. Looking at the edit right now and it's seems good, but will check again after figuring out how to turn on my fan, too hot in this basement. Once I start another play through of BL3 plus DLC's and all, should make make this clearly of how this content should work.
Violence as it should be. Smut? Tried typing it, and will never ever type one out in this site or any site, unless asked but I probably won't anyway. My smut making skills suck anyway, practicing making smut fanfics are annoying, but will read them anyway. Deaths as it should be, but be surprised if the one you are hoping for not dying might come true. I won't kiss and tell.
Do whatever you life, hate or like, your choice, just don't trying hating on others users, they are innocents, if you want to hate something, hate me for typing this story out.
Edit: Maya had to be alive in the DLC4, ahhhh, Sadness consumes me. Cursed these feelings of a broken heart.
But anyway, peace out.
