"It's Lily, isn't it?" Mary was standing in the common room, and screaming, the mug was on the floor, broken into pieces. James was kind of grateful he took a walk around, and came back alone.
He used his T-shirt to wipe the coffee from his chest and stomach, 'Man, this woman is crazy!' He thought to himself. 'Need a new T-shirt now'
"She was out with you!"
"Oh crap!" James sighed,he didn't know what he had gotten himself into. "Look, Mary, You told me if I walked out, we were done, and frankly if you can't trust me, I think you made the right call, I am done. Why was I out? It is none of your business okay? I was with my friends."
Mary had started to cry.
"It was not the first time I was out in the middle of the night with my friends. And it will not be the last,"
Now he was sitting in front of her. He had burnt scorches on his bare chest. It was red.
"And Evans had nothing to do with, she made it clear to me that I am nothing to her. And Evans has nothing to with what I am about to do now!"
He held her hands in his hands, a serious expression on his always smiling face.
"Mary, I don't think I'll be able to keep up with this."
She was starting to believe him, as he called Lily 'Evans'. But it was little too late. James hadn't dated anyone before her. He was too busy chasing Lily. But he was a gentleman.
"I can't deal with anymore," He said.
"Are breaking up with me?" Mary looked at him.
"I think you already did that a few hours ago!" James smiled.
"I didn't mean it."
"No, people make right decisions on impulse." James let go of her hands, "You were right."
He made his way to the boys dormitory as he smiled one last time before leaving.
"Good, it's good!" Sirius patted him on the back, "Back together, free and singles..."
James spared a glance to Mary, who was sitting with her friends, Alice, Lily and Marlene. it was like Lily and Mary had made up, and she was talking to her, and rubbing her arm.
"It's okay!" He heard a whisper. "A lot of other guys out there.'
It was nice this way. He was kind of glad to be out of this relationship.
"It's snowing!" Remus looked up the sky, the roof of the great hall displayed snowballs falling down the sides.
"Snow fight!?"
"Snow fight!"
The Marauders got off the table, followed by other people. James Potter was back in the single life, happy to be with his friends.
