Chapter 21

Once Beca finished the two demos after reviewing them endlessly she joined Stacie in bed and drifted off. They woke up the next morning around 9am and decided to head down for breakfast. Once they both grabbed their food and found a table.

"So care to tell me about those songs?" Stacie asked.

"Not much to say, when you hear it you'll be able to understand the message." Beca shrugged.

"Come on Becs, tell me something." Stacie whined.

Rolling her eyes "Fine I started these after the Chloe incident. Seeing her helped me come up with these two songs." Beca said.

Stacie nodded "Well if there anything like your previous stuff, then there going to be hits."

Once finished with there breakfast they headed back to there room to change. Beca throwing on a white Braves jersey, blue ripped jeans and a pair of timberlands. Once Stacie saw this she couldn't help but stare at the fact that Beca was walking around with the jersey unbuttoned, showing that she was only wearing a bra underneath and it was on full display.

"You good Stace?" Beca smirked while grabbing a white beanie and her silver aviators.

Quickly nodding her head "Yup, it's juts you really look like a New Yorker right now. The denim with the timbs." Stacie chuckled "It actually really suits you."

"It's a comfortable outfit." Beca said "And plus I really like baseball jerseys."

The two headed out after Beca got a text from Halsey that she was in the lobby. Once they caught up with her they headed towards the car and were off to the studio. They got everything set up to record with Halsey pulling up the songs from her laptop and Beca pulling up the beats from hers.

"Alright so after we get through these twelve, we'll be down to four. I actually have an idea for two of them." Halsey said.

Beca nodded "I actually have two songs I worked that I thought would work for the album." Beca said slowly.

"For real? You got to show me." Halsey said excitedly.

"Sure thing." Be a pulled up the two songs "The first one is called Eyes Closed." She proceeded to play the first track.

Halsey and Stacie were both listening intently and as soon as the song started bobbing along to the guitar riff. Then the beat dropped and the chorus started and the two girls smiled at the sound. They were able to quickly pick up on the message of the song. When it finished Beca looked at Halsey.

"So?" Beca asked playing with the hem of the jersey.

Halsey smiled "I fucking love it. The meaning, melody and beat. Everything is dope." Halsey patted Beca on the arm.

Beca looked over at Stacie "Stace?"

"Incredible B, just like everything you ever do." Stacie smiled. Beca always took her opinions the most serious. It was an odd thing she had where she always wanted Stacie to like her work.

"Thanks guys. Now the second one is called Strangers. I wrote it with the idea of a feature, which is why I asked you that yesterday ghost." Beca said as she played the second one.

Just like the first song, the beat caught the attention of Halsey and Stacie. Then the words came and once more the message was clear. Stacie now knew what Beca meant by how the Chloe situation inspired these two songs. When the song finished Halsey gave out a little chuckle.

"Why did I not know you can sing like that scrappy?" Halsey said raising her eyebrows.

Beca gave a quick shrug "I don't really sing anymore. Haven't since college actually. But I've been thinking about getting back into it." She answered.

"Well I want you on this album. That last song you showed me is going to feature you. Since you're gay it'll be perfect." Halsey said smiling.

Beca nodded "Let's do it then." She high fived Halsey and turned to Stace who was beaming at Beca "Don't tell anyone Conrad."

Stacie who's smile didn't falter "Our little secret."

Halsey and Beca spent the next three hours recording all the songs they had prepared. With virtually no bumps along the process they had everything polished and ready.

"You two really are a match made in heaven. You guys get everything done with ease." Stacie chuckled.

"What can I say we're like heaven in hiding." Beca smirked as she nudged Halsey.

"You know what that's the perfect title for one of the songs I had an idea for." Halsey said and pulled up the song she was thinking of.

"See?" Halsey handed it over to Beca who studied the song.

"Oh yeah, insert it in the song and you have a completed piece." Beca nodded "Now get in there and I'll hit record."

Once that song was finished they only had one left.

Halsey took her seat next to Beca "So what's up with the last song ghost?" Beca asked.

"You ever feel like you just fade away from a relationship? Or you that you blew off possible relationships because you didn't think they meant what they were saying? Like there feelings were genuine and real." Halsey asked.

"You mean like, oh yeah they must just say that to everyone they meet? If so then yup I know exactly what you mean. That use to be me."
Beca said "I use to think no one every really could love me and for a while recently I started feeling like that again." She said taking a sigh.

Beca thought back to how she was during her first year at Barden and how she was in high school. She never got close to anyone because she had major trust issues. Then she met Chloe and the Bellas, and they slowly broke her walls and showed her that not everyone is the same. Beca changed and started letting people in, Stacie became her best friend and knew everything about the smaller girl. Jesse became like her big brother and protected her every chance he got. Then there was Chloe who blew through her walls like a category five hurricane.

Beca started to really feel like she didn't have to have any walls no more. She felt like she was stupid for ever thinking she couldn't trust these people. Then Chloe went and broke up with her and left her the way she did. Beca started to regress to her old mindset, she put her walls up twice as strong and didn't talk to anyone. Anyone but Stacie and Jesse that is, they proved to her after a while that she didn't need to revert to her old ways. Stacie was constantly showering her with love, praise and affection. Stacie constantly showed her that she was lovable and deserved all the happiness.

Thinking back on it now, Stacie was the first person to break through her walls. Sure Chloe got through the quickest, but Beca always went to Stacie when she needed help or advice. Chloe was her girlfriend but yet Beca always looked towards Stacie for approval and help. There was always something about Stacie that Beca couldn't really explain. The constant touching and flirting, how Stacie was always able to get her to let loose and the trust she had in the taller girl. There was something about her.

"Uhhh Becs?" Stacie snapped her fingers in Beca's face.

"Scrappy?" Halsey shook her.

Snapping out of her thoughts "Oh sorry guys got lost in my head. But yeah I know exactly what you mean." Beca smiled at Halsey.

Stacie just eyed Beca suspiciously. Be a seeing this smiled at Stacie and mouthed "I'm fine." And winked.

"Perfect. Let me pull it up and show you guys." Halsey pulled up the song and Beca along with Stacie read it over. "I wrote this after my last breakup in one night and I figured it'd be perfect for the album."

Beca leaned back in her chair "So I'm guessing you want a piano or something slow like that as the beat?" Beca asked.

Halsey nodded "Exactly that. I want to emphasize the sadness and emotion."

"I think I may have what you want." Beca opened up a folder on her laptop that contained hours and hours of her playing piano.

"Geez Beca why do have so many piano melodies?" Halsey asked.

"I like to play it in my down time. These are all my sessions where I just play random notes." Beca answered as she found the one she wanted. "I came up with this a little over a year ago." She played it and Halsey instantly fell in love with it.

"That's the one right there!" She smiled and got up to head to the booth.

"Becs you made that when we first came out to NY?" Stacie asked.

"Yeah a lot of these were after the breakup and when we first came out to NY." Beca answered.

Halsey did sorry in one take and soon after that song was cut and edited they had an album on there hands.

"That's that folks." Beca said as she saved everything on her laptop and on an extended storage for backup.

"This is going be epic. Thank you so much for agreeing scrappy." Halsey said as she hugged Beca.

"You kidding me, this was a dream collab for me. Your literally in my top three favorite artists." Beca gushed.

"Wow I'm honored. Especially with the people you've worked with." Halsey smiled.

"Hopefully this ain't the last time we work together." Beca said packing her stuff in her bag.

"Fuck no. I might have to hire you as my permanent producer." Halsey joked.

"Well I am opening a label so you never know." Beca joked back.

Halsey grabbed her shoulder "If you do I'll sign." Halsey said looking Beca in the eyes.

"Your being for real?" Beca asked.

"Yeah my contract with this label is actually up in a couple of months and I already made up my mind that I wasn't staying." Halsey answered.

"Shit, yeah I'd love if you signed. I just need to sign the paperwork to make it official and pick out the studio." Beca said smiling.

Halsey smiled "Perfect it's settled then. When this contract of officially up, I'm signing with the Beca Mitchell."

"I don't even know what to say right now." Beca said.

Halsey and Stacie laughed at Beca's stunned expression. "Alright shorty time to take a pic you two. Let the fans know what's up." Stacie said grabbing her phone.

Halsey sat on the desk that was next to her and pulled Beca in between her legs, resting her elbows on Beca's shoulder and her chin on top Beca's head. Beca leaned back and rested her elbows on Halsey's thighs, the two of them sticking there tongues out and squinting their eyes.

"You two are dressed similar and pose the same, it's actually pretty interesting. You sure you two aren't related." Stacie joked showing them the picture. It was true, they were both wearing a jersey with there bras showing, ripped jeans and wearing boots. Only difference being Halsey wearing a bandanna while Beca had a beanie.

"We're not that similar. Right?" Beca asked Halsey who was laughing at the photo.

"I think the Titian might have a point." Halsey had started calling Stacie Titian.

"Well that'd explain why we work so well together." Beca said as she posted the picture to Instagram with the caption "Album done. Can't wait for you guys to hear what we came up with. Thank you to iamhalsey for letting me produce. Dream collaboration come true."

Halsey posted the picture with the caption "We cooked up something real special here for you guys. A big thank you to itsbecamitchell for agreeing to produce and help me with the songs. Can't wait to work with her some more."

There post almost instantly started trending with everyone talking about the album and hearing what they could possibly come up with. Everyone was also talking about how hot the two of them were looking.

"That's going to make a couple of screensavers." Halsey joked as they stepped into the car.

They made back to the hotel and went their separate ways agreeing to catch dinner later.

"Now tomorrow we have miss Junk." Beca said as they stepped into the suite.

Things between Stacie and Beca are going to pick up soon. Let me know if I should speed up the process of Stacie and Beca or keep it at this pace. I've been making there relationship progess along with Beca's growth in the industry.
