Hot and Cold. Night and Day.

Todoroki kept her on her toes, she never knew what he was thinking, what he was feeling. He could change - just like that.

Emile ran. Her heart racing, her legs were on fire and she had no idea where she was going but she knew she had to get away from him. He was acting funny again: the look in his eyes changing, his tone was deeper than usual and his whole aura seemed to shift. He wasn't himself.

Emile felt the pricks of branches against her skin and rocks stabbed at the bottom of her feet but the pain wasn't so bad with all the adrenaline coursing through her body.

She could feel him though, he was catching up to her and fast. He had even been generous enough to give her a headstart, he knew she wouldn't be quick enough against him. He was just toying with her and for what? She was already frightened enough.

"Why do you insist on running from me? Don't you love me!?" He called out from behind her, his voice much closer than she would have liked. Tears stung at the corner of her eyes, she did love him but not this monster chasing her.

She screamed as his arms slithered around her waist, lifting her off the ground, and pulling her close to his body. She could feel his hot breath on her neck, he was panting heavily as he slung her over his shoulder. "You really shouldn't have run, Emile, you've hurt my feelings now." He scolded her, his voice wasn't harsh but he was upset and she could tell.

She didn't bother trying to fight against him, he'd always win. She stared at the grass as it waved by underneath them, how did it even come to this? Oh, that's right, he'd suspected that she was planning on leaving him when she actually wanted to sneak away and get him something to celebrate his promotion at work. She had simply told him she was going into town for a few hours and he immediately assumed the worst.

Todoroki didn't have the best self-esteem and Emile knew it. When he felt even a little hint that she'd leave him behind, he snapped, turning into this red, fiery monster that engulfed anyone who crossed it's path.

He carried Emile back to their home, she'd run out the back door and into the trees that were a few feet from their backyard. She had no idea what to expect when he was like this, she'd learned it was best she just stayed quiet and listened but the way he looked at her earlier, something told her she had to get away this time.

When they reached their home once more, he carried her towards the bedroom and sat her down on the bed. Todoroki stood back and stared down at her, she couldn't place his expression. Emile didn't have the time to figure out what to do next before he finally spoke.

"Why don't you love me?" He asked, she could hear the pain in his voice, but before she could say anything Todoroki enclosed the space between them. He ran his hand through her hair and still had that vague look on his face. He leaned down, pressing his lips against hers. He groaned softly, laying her down by pushing her shoulders and holding her down to the mattress.

He broke the kiss, moving onto her neck. He placed fiery kisses along her skin, moving down to her chest. He mumbled out numerous questions between each kiss.

'Am I not enough for you? How can I make you stay with me? What can I do to prove I love you?'

Emile heard his questions echo in her head, she closed her eyes, feeling how much he was hurting. She thought of the right words to say, not wanting him to suffer anymore, she wanted to reassure him that she'd be by his side for as long as he'd have her.

She gasped when she felt the warm man's hand grope at her breast, his fingers coming together to pinch at her nipple. She stifled a moan, not wanting to give the monster any gratification, before she sorted out her words.

"I do love you, Todoroki, you don't have to prove anything to anyone. I won't leave you either, I'll be here for as long as you'll stand by me." Emile gave a soft smile, trying to lighten the mood in the room.

Sun and Moon. Ice and Fire.

Todoroki was changing again, Emile could tell by the way he looked at her when he sat up to look at her face, properly. His gaze held nothing but the utmost infatuation with the woman who stared back at him, she held her smile and cocked her head to the side when he didn't say anything after a while.

"Are you... okay?" She didn't know how to ask if he was back to his normal self again but thankfully, the gentle way he caressed her hip while he grinned back at her was answer enough.

"I am and I'm sorry." His smile fell when he thought back to a moment ago, how he must have scared her, how he must have worried her. Todoroki knew she understood that he couldn't control himself sometimes, the burning rage overcoming even him in the flames sometimes: scorching him endlessly. Yet, here she was. Emile knew just how to extinguish the monster burning in him, made him calm and cool.

"There's nothing to apologize for." She said softly and his chest felt tight, his heartbeat out of control. He stared down at her, wondering how he was able to win the heart of this lovely woman. She truly made him feel whole, never baring any grudge towards him.

"You're an amazing person." He murmured, his eyes bore into hers, and his heart skipped another beat when she started to blush. Her flustered face making him resurface even more, he could feel his true self shining through.

Todoroki watched her stumble on her words, he found her to be so endearing. He closed the space between them once more, he rested his forehead against hers and smiled. Emile gigged and wrapped her arms around his neck, accepting him.

She knew he led a tough life and honestly, who was she to judge him for his faults. She wanted nothing more than to support him the best she could even when he didn't feel so much like himself.

"You nearly scared me half to death though." Todoroki had his turn to blush now, he felt embarrassed for overreacting but he couldn't help himself, always jumping to the wrong conclusion and getting upset about it. When he went to say something, he noticed the tears pooling in her eyes, threatening to fall, they were so dangerously close to the edge. Todoroki's heart sank, how could he do this to the person he loved?

"I really am sorry, I wish I could take it all back." He sighed, his eyes closing and he felt nothing but regret towards his actions and his words. He would go back if he really could.

He felt her touch his cheek, her hand caressing his face gently. He opened his eyes again and she was smiling through the tears, she was considerate enough to push her own feelings aside to make him feel better. He couldn't believe what an outstanding woman he was lucky to fall in love with and he wouldn't dare be left behind, he wanted to support her as much as she did for him.

"I already said there's no need to apologize." She repeated and he couldn't stop himself from kissing her then. His heart swelling with passion, it flowed through him like a raging river, and it felt like he was going to drown.

"I love you." He spoke, his voice was full of longing and she looked up at him, still beaming.

"I love you, too." She smiled and he smiled back, he felt powerful by her side. He felt like he was being hit by a cool ocean mist on a hot summer day. He leaned forward to kiss her once more, hoping she could feel the love he had for her despite the monster he held inside.
