Chapter 23
Stacie woke up the next morning and noticed that Beca had to be up in 35 minutes for sound check. Stacie was about to wake her up when she got an idea. She slowly got out of her bed and grabbed her phone walking away, she dialed to exact number she had in mind.
"Hello?" The voice answered.
"How quick can you make it to our room?" Stacie asked.
"Two minutes. Why?" The voice asked.
"Just get here and you'll see." Stacie said and hung up.
Exactly two minutes later there was a light knock at the door.
"Come in." Stacie smirked.
"Alright titan what's up?" Halsey asked.
"How do you feel about giving the little one a special wake up call?" Stacie said still smirking.
"Let's do it." Halsey laughed.
The two proceeded to fill the tub with ice and water. Once the water was ice cold, they quietly walked over to Beca.
"Alright Halsey, you record and I'll carry her." Stacie said.
Once Halsey started recording Stacie gently scooped Beca up in her arms. Beca instinctually put her arms around Stacie's neck and pressed her face into her neck.
"Awwww that's so adorable." Halsey whispered as she followed Stacie.
Stacie winked at her before walking into the bathroom and hovering over the tub. Stacie turned towards the camera.
"This is for all those pranks you pulled back in college." Stacie blew a kiss into the camera, then she slowly dropped Beca into the tub.
"AHHHH! Fuck that's cold!" Beca shouted as she jolted awake. Beca was confused till she heard the sounds of laughter. Snapping her head to her right she saw Stacie and Halsey bent over laughing with a phone recording.
"Are you two serious!?" Beca yelled as she glared at them.
"Oh my god. Best idea ever." Stacie said trying to catch her breath.
"This was you?" Beca said as she got out of the tub.
"Maybe." Stacie shrugged.
Beca nodded slowly before she started to shiver and pout "Stace, I'm cold. Towel please?"
"Sure Becs." Stacie chuckled and walked over with a towel.
Once Beca wrapped the towel around her self "Can I get a hug for warmth?" Beca said still pouting.
Stacie smiled and opened her arms. Once Stacie wrapped her up in a hug, Beca turned to Halsey who was still recording and smirked before mouthing "Watch." After receiving a nod Beca wrapped her arms around Stacie and slowly took one step back and twisted them around.
"This was mean Stace." Beca said looking up at Stacie.
"I had to get you back for all the pranks you pulled back in college." Stacie smiled.
"I get it." Beca then smirked "Guess payback is a bitch." Beca winked and pushed Stacie off her causing the taller girl to stumble backwards and fall into the tub.
"Shit that's cold!" Stacie shouted.
Beca laughed and turned to high five Halsey before walking out saying "Now get ready dumbass!" She said over her shoulder.
Halsey stopped recording and looked at Stacie "She got you."
Stacie glared at her "Don't you have sound check to get ready for?"
Halsey laughed and sent the video to the two of them "Yup. See you two down there!" She shouted as she walked out.
Beca took off her wet clothes and changed into an orange camo shirt throwing on a black bomber jacket, some black sweatpants and a pair of black and white vans.
When she turned around and saw Stacie changing and mumbling under her breath "Aww is someone still upset about getting wet? I thought you love being wet." Beca said with a wink.
Stacie laughed "I do, I just like being hot and sweaty when I am."
Beca smirked and got close to Stacie "Well, you never know what could happen." Beca whispered before backing away smirking "Now let's head out." She grabbed some black round frame glasses.
Stacie stood there and tried to shake the thoughts creeping up out of her head. "She's playing a dangerous game." Stacie thought to herself heading towards the door.
The two met up with Halsey and CR in the lobby. They then headed towards the car that was waiting for them.
Hyde Park
Once they arrived, they were ushered to the stage and were told to give them a heads up when they were ready.
"Alright so how's this going to go?" Beca asked Halsey.
"Well I figured we'll alternate. I sing a couple of songs with you controlling the sounds, then we play a couple of your mixes. Then when your mixes that involve my songs come up, I'll sing the vocals. I just need to get the timing down." Halsey suggested.
"I like that idea. I have a few mashups that include your songs so I'll queue those up. And we need to decide when to debut the two new tracks." Beca said.
"We can leave those as the closers." Halsey smiled.
The two then proceeded to give the signal and worked to get the sound and the timing down. It proved to be a challenge to get the timing down with Beca's mashups. But after a couple try's the two were able to nail it. They decided not to play the new tracks till the show itself, not wanting anything to leak.
Once they were a done a reporter came up to them. "Excuse me Beca and Halsey, can I ask you two a few questions?"
"Sure." They both said.
"Thank you. This is being live-streamed, do you mind?" She asked.
Receiving a no, she did her introduction before turning to the girls. "Now you two posted that the album has been completed, can you share anything with the fans?"
"Well this album is a special one. Beca and I poured our hearts into this project. I can tell you that it's sixteen songs." Halsey smiled.
"Yeah like Halsey said, it's a real special one. Everything on this album we both wrote and produced together. Your going to feel a bunch of different emotions." Beca answered.
"Can't wait. Now this ones for Beca. Beca your songs for Demi and Justin have been about heartbreak, the fans want to know how are things in the relationship department?" She asked.
Beca chuckled and rolled her eyes "Well currently single, have been for a while. But I'm not to focused about relationships at the moment, I got a career to focus on." Beca answered.
"Oh come on there's got to be someone." Halsey nudged her jokingly.
"There might be." Beca smirked and winked to the camera.
"Ohh they must be one lucky person. Now last question is for Halsey, any features to look out for?" She asked.
Halsey smiled and looked at Beca "Yes there is. This one right here." She wrapped an arm around Beca "We actually have an amazing song together."
"Really? The Beca Mitchell has a feature?" She asked surprised.
"Yup I finally decided to sing again." Beca laughed.
"Well I cannot wait. As I'm sure the fans can't either. Thank you girls for your time, good luck with the album and the performance." She smiled at them.
"Thank you." They both said and walked to the car.
"So there might be somebody?" Halsey asked.
"I'll tell you when we're alone." Beca whispered.
Catching on Halsey grabbed her arm "Titan?"
"Yes, ok. I've been thinking lately and there's a possibility. I just need to sort this out, and talk to someone to help." Beca whispered back.
"You guys coming or what?" Stacie shouted from the car.
"Talk later." Halsey said and walked towards the car.
The three entered the car and headed to get some food before going back to the hotel and prep for the show.
"So you two excited?" CR asked as they sat down to eat.
"Yeah, never preformed with someone so this should be interesting." Beca said bitting her burger.
"It's going to be fun to do something like this." Halsey answered.
"So your singing again?" CR asked.
Beca nodded "Yeah, I miss it you know. I've done everything so far but sing."
"You planning on releasing anything soon?" CR asked back.
Beca shrugged "Probably. I have stuff I've written that I was going to give to someone, but I'll probably keep it for myself now."
"How much we talking about?" CR asked.
"I don't know, two notebooks worth of songs." Beca answered as she finished off her burger.
The three girls stared at her in shock. "What?" Beca asked scrunching her eyebrows.
"Becs, do you realize how many songs that can amount to?" Stacie asked slowly.
Beca thought about for a second "I don't know an album or two. Depending."
"Beca that's an insane amount of music." Halsey said.
"Yeah Beca, you should really think of putting some of that out. See if the fans are interested." CR said.
"We'll see." Beca shrugged. There was only one person she's had the conversation with before and would have it with them again.
"When did you even write all that?" Stacie asked.
"Well most of it was during senior year and the rest has been here and there. I mostly did it has a hobby just like when I play piano or any other instrument. It's like a stress reliever for me." Beca said as she finished her fries.
The three of them spent the next few minutes talking about the show and who they were excited to see preform. Once everyone finished their food they headed to the car and back to the hotel. Once they arrived Beca saw Jesse sitting in the lobby. She walked over to talk to him.
"Hey Jess?" Beca said getting his attention.
"Oh hey Becs, what's up?" He said patting the spot next to him.
"Can I talk to you really quick?" She asked as she sat down beside him.
"Of course, everything alright?" He asked.
"Yeah. It's just, you remember those song books you found?" She asked.
"Yeah, why?" He asked.
"Well do you think I should release them?" She asked.
"Of course." He smiled.
"Because I have a feature on Halsey's album on a song I wrote. And it made me realize how much I actually miss singing." Beca said.
Jesse smiled and held her hand "Becs like I told you months ago, those songs are incredible and your voice to way to lovely to keep it sheltered."
Beca smiled at him "Thanks Jess, I guess I'm doing this then."
"If you want I'll help you sort through them and pick which ones to release." He said.
"I might actually need help. Considering what most of those are about." She commented.
"It'll help you finally put them out there you know."
"Yeah maybe." Beca chuckled "Any way, enough about me. How's things going with Bree?"
"Amazing. Thank you for giving us these couple of days." He smiled.
"Hey no problem, you two deserve it. We all know I put you two through enough as it is." She laughed.
"Well you wouldn't be you if you didn't." He chuckled. "Oh how's things about the studio?"
"Great. Halsey actually said she wants to sign when her contract is up." She smiled.
"Serious? You know how huge that's going to be?" He asked shocked.
"Yup. Between her and Emily I'll have two amazing talents already. They said they sent the stuff to Aubrey."
"What about me?" Aubrey said as she gave Beca a squeeze on her shoulder.
Beca smiled "They sent you stuff about the studio. Can you review it today please?"
"Of course Bec. I'll check it out when we're in our room." Aubrey smiled as she sat on Jesse's other side.
"She's already got two people." Jesse smiled.
"Really? Who's the second?" Aubrey asked.
"Halsey." Beca smiled.
"Wow. That's amazing news." Aubrey smiled "You two excited for the performance?"
"Yeah, it's going be amazing. We're even preforming two of the new songs we made for the album." Beca said quietly.
"Can't wait." They both whispered back.
They three spent the next 20 minutes catching up. Aubrey and Jesse told Beca what they had done over the last two days. While Beca had talked about her recording sessions with Halsey and Emily. They even talked about what Beca and Halsey had come up with for there performance. After the 20 minutes they all went to their rooms. Aubrey to look over the papers for the label and Beca to get ready.
