Chapter 28

"Oh shit." Beca said.

Beca was staring at the article and looking at the pictures they had posted of Chloe and herself and man it wasn't looking good. Plus, that dam caption was just making it worse than it had to be.

"I swear this isn't what it looks like guys." Beca said desperately.

"Explain." CR repeated once more.

Beca look at the two of them "Aubrey wanted me to meet up with Chloe and her at the pizza spot we always go to. We were just talking and then she got a phone call and left. Chloe started asking me questions about the label, which Aubrey just had to mention, and while she was asking questions she just kept inching closer and closer. I guess someone spotted us. I figured Aubrey would have made sure we didn't." Beca explained quickly while throwing her head back.

CR just groaned and turned towards Jesse "Why must your girlfriend keep doing this crap. Now look at the position we're in."

Jesse raised his hands in surrender "Hey I can't control her, no one can."

"Guys we need to fix this like now." Beca pleaded.

Jesse and CR knew this wasn't going to be easy to just have vanish, especially since Beca is never seen out with anyone other than them. "Jesse call your girl over here, since this involves her as well." CR said. Jesse nodded and dialed up Aubrey.

"Hey baby." Aubrey answered.

"Bree come down to the office, like now." Jesse said a bit annoyed that they're even in this situation.

"Why?" Aubrey asked curiously.

"If you come down here, then you'll know." Jesse answered.

"Alright alright, I'll be there in ten." Aubrey said as hung up.

"Fuck, Stacie!" Beca shouted causing Jesse and CR to get startled.

"What about Stacie?" CR asked.

"Now it makes sense why she isn't answering my calls or texts. Dammit!" Beca knew this was going to an even bigger issue.

"Am I missing something?" Jesse said trying to play dumb.

"I'm pretty dam certain she feels the same as I do you dumb ass and this definitely isn't helping my cause." Beca groaned.

"I see." Jesse mumbled.

Beca was starting to go into panic mode and started calling Stacie non stop but to no avail, everything just went to voicemail. So she called up the only person she can think of.

"Oh joy, what mood are you in this time?" Halsey joked.

"Panicking, that's what I'm doing." Beca said frantically.

"Why? what happened?" Halsey asked.

"Check twitter like right this second." Beca said quickly.

"Alright hold up." Halsey said as she opened up twitter and typed Beca in the search bar, what she saw surprised her along with everyone else. Oh shit, she thought. "Please tell me that was taken out of proportion." Halsey said.

"Yes, completely. I'll explain later, but what I need you to do for me is please get here quickly. We need a plan because Stacie is ignoring me." Beca said desperately.

"Alright be their in about 10 if you let me use on of your cars." Halsey said knowing Beca had some insanely fast cars.

"Yeah sure, keys for them are all in the garage. First cabinet. Just get here fast." Beca said as she hung up.

"Hold up, you're letting someone else drive your cars?" CR asked.

"Whatever helps her get here quick." Beca shrugged as she called up Amy and Benji to meet up as well.

Exactly ten minutes later everyone was there except for Aubrey who had just told everyone she just parked. She quickly walked into Beca's office with Chloe trailing behind.

"Ok what the hell is going on?" Aubrey asked as she walked in.

"Did you really have to bring her?" Halsey asked pointing to Chloe.

"Uh excuse you?" Chloe spoke up.

"I'm just saying you two are the reason we're in this mess. Especially yours." Halsey said directed to Chloe. Beca had already explained to everyone what had happened before Aubrey and Chloe arrived.

"Ok once more, what the hell is happening?" Aubrey said more sternly.

Jesse pulled up the article and handed it over to her "Your little plan is causing some problems." Jesse said.

Aubrey and Chloe scanned the article and were shocked that they had been snapped. Aubrey knew how this looked and knew this really wasn't good. Meanwhile Chloe didn't quite know what to feel.

"Ok we can fix this." Aubrey announced.

"Oh yeah and what are we going to say? that I was meeting up with my ex who destroyed me?" Beca asked sarcastically.

Aubrey rolled her eyes "No, that you were hanging with me and a friend." Aubrey stated.

"But they aren't friends." Halsey shrugged.

"How do you even know what we are exactly? and why are you even here?" Chloe said.

"I have more of a right to be here than you do." Halsey said from her spot next to Beca "And I know more then you think." Halsey said glaring at Chloe. She knew about San Fran after Beca told her on the flight to London, she also knew the whole story about the breakup.

"Alright guys this really isn't helping. We need this cleared up and quickly. Aubrey leave the damage control to Jesse and CR please. I need you to do me a favor." Beca said.

"What is it Bec?" Aubrey asked. Aubrey felt bad that she was in this situation to begin with.

"I need you to please get in contact with Stace, she's pushing me away and I need you to check on her." Beca said.

"Why me?" Aubrey asked.

"Because aside from me, you're the only one that she'll talk to. I would send Ash but I need her to help me with something. Just please try to explain everything, I already know that you know what's going on." Beca sighed.

Aubrey nodded "Alright Bec, I'll go see what I can do." Aubrey said as she headed out. Chloe followed and she'd be lying if she said this wasn't hurting her. The fact that Beca wanted this cleared up so quickly and wanted them to check on Stacie wasn't ding her jealousy and guilt go away. She just wanted a chance to prove too Beca to give her a second chance.

"Can you guys please get on this?" Beca looked towards Jesse and CR.

"Of course." They both said.

"Amy and Benji can you two just answer any calls that may come through and keep things here smooth?" Beca asked.

"Sure thing. Go get your girl." Amy said.

"That obvious?" Beca joked.

"Shawshank, as obvious as my love for krispy-kreme." Amy laughed as she pulled Benji out of the office.

"So what now?" Halsey asked.

"Music. I'm going to tell her through music. We just need to set something up." Beca said.

Meanwhile Aubrey was on her way to Stacie's apartment after not being able to read her through the phone.

"This is so not how I wanted this to go down." Aubrey sighed.

"Is is really that big? I mean it's just an article." Chloe said.

"Chlo it's not just about the article. Beca is probably the most private person in the industry, she doesn't do interviews or photoshoots so this is huge. People are going throw out all type of theories and stories about you two, and sooner or later people will dig up Barden stuff. That's what we don't want, people will eventually connect the dots and tag you as the ex that destroyed her. Do you want that? plus this is bad for Beca because of how Stacie is reacting currently." Aubrey answered.

"Oh yes poor Stacie, God I'm so sick of hearing about Stacie." Chloe groaned.

"Chloe I told you back in San Fran you were going to have to deal with it. You dug this hole now live in it. You chose this not Beca and not Stacie. You left and Stacie was her best friend, Stacie was her rock and has been since you split. This is the closets the hobbit has gotten too being in a relationship. While you had your boy toy, Beca didn't even hook up with anyone. Two years Chloe, two whole years of her not being with anyone." Aubrey exclaimed.

"I know that I did this to myself Bree ok. I just want a chance to dig myself out of it, which is why those photos look that way." Chloe said.

Aubrey had just parked at Stacie's complex and turned towards Chloe "What do you mean by that?" Aubrey asked slowly.

I tried to keep my emotions in check but when I saw her looking like that I couldn't help it. So I scooted closer to her little by little, I didn't think anyone would see us." Chloe admitted.

"Oh my god, you can't be serious. Chlo the one thing I told not to do, you go and do. You better come clean and explain this shit." Aubrey said sternly.

Chloe just groaned and stepped out "Let's just get this over."

"Chlo I'm serious, you may be my best friend and like a sister to me, but that hobbit means to dam much to me to let you ruin her chance at happiness. And Stacie deserves to as well after being by Beca's side through everything you put her through." Aubrey said. Aubrey knew this was hard for Chloe but she knew it was her doing. Aubrey had always been protective over Beca since the smaller girl became her friend after freshmen year when the Bellas won the ICCAs. Aubrey didn't care that it was Chloe right now, when it came to Beca she wouldn't hesitate to defend her. And right now it was showing.

The two made their way to Stacie's door and Aubrey knocked.

Stacie answered the door after five minutes of the knocking.

"What?" Stacie said agitated.

"Hey Stace, can we come in?" Aubrey asked.

Stacie hadn't even noticed the second body, and once she saw who it was her blood started to boil "What is she doing here?" Stacie asked coldly.

"Stace, we'll explain if you please just let us in." Aubrey said calmly.

Stacie sighed and opened the door to let them in. Once they were in she closed the door and lead them to the couch.

"Alright so I'm guessing you saw the article?" Aubrey asked.

"No shit." Stacie said bluntly.

"About that, I asked Beca to hang out with us because I figured they can at least get whatever they had out the way and we can move past this once and for all. We were all hanging out when I got a call and had to leave, when I left someone had to tip off the paps and they captured those pics." Aubrey explained.

Stacie was still hurt and mad at Beca for not even telling her. She now knew the reason why they were together but it still didn't make it not hurt seeing them like that. "Ok so explain the pictures then, why were they that close? after everything why would Beca be that close to her?" Stacie said in the same tone.

Aubrey looked at Chloe "Tell her."

Chloe sighed "Look Stacie, I still have feelings for Beca and I just couldn't help it. So I got close to her to see if anything would happen and that's what they caught."

Stacie hearing this was starting to lose her self control. Why can't she just stay away? she thought.

"Are you serious right now Beale? I told you to stay away from her." Stacie said in the same low threatening tone she used back in San Fran "Why can't you just stay away huh? haven't you done enough damage already?" At this point Stacie had gotten close to Chloe's position.

Aubrey sensing this could hit the fan decided to get up and in between the two.

"God Stacie, you can't tell me who I can or can't be around. Beca is her own person. And yes I'm aware of what damage I've done, that's why I'm here. To fix everything and try to get another chance." Chloe said.

"Another chance? are you on drugs right now? you're dumber then I thought if you think Beca would give you a second chance." Stacie said.

"Stacie you're not her girlfriend so just back off alright." Chloe said.

That right there hit Stacie deep, the one thing Stacie wanted more than anything. Stacie clenched her fist as hard as possible and took a deep breath, she really didn't want to lose it and do something stupid.

"Bree, if you don't get this bitch out of my apartment, you'll be spending time with her at a hospital." Stacie said.

"You know, I always felt like you had a thing for Beca. Even back in Barden when we were dating, I always felt there was something more then just friendship there. But back then I got her and not you. Is that why you don't want me near her? afraid she'll chose me again?" Chloe said as she stood up. She had lost all self control of her jealousy and anger at this point. Jealousy over Stacie going back to Barden and anger at herself over leaving Beca and now being in this situation.

Hearing this was the breaking point for Stacie, she just lost it then and there. She shoved Aubrey out the way and marched up to Chloe and slapped her just as hard as Beca did. She then grabbed her by the shirt "Get the fuck out. And stay the fuck away from Beca." Stace said with fire in her eyes before she punched Chloe on the same side she slapped her and threw her towards the door.

She then turned to Aubrey "If I see her again you won't like the results. Be glad I just gave her a black eye."

Aubrey grabbed Chloe and pushed outside before turning back to Stacie "Call Beca please?"

Stacie sighed "Bree, I get why she was there and why the pictures were like that. I can't blame her for that bitch but I don't know. She could have told me and you know how I feel. Let me calm down first."

Aubrey nodded and headed out, she met up with Chloe at the car. Once Aubrey started the car she looked at Chloe who was holding her left side of her face.

"What the fuck was that!?" Aubrey exclaimed.

"I just lost it." Chloe said bluntly.

"You just lost it? really Chlo, was it so hard to just apologize and give an explanation?" Aubrey said.

"I did that, she just had to threaten me again and I don't like that." Chloe argued.

"She did that with good reasoning. Dammit Chloe while you were off in California with what's his name, Stacie was pulling Beca out her depressive state. Stacie was the one dealing with a broken Beca who didn't do anything but stay in bed. She was the who had to build up Beca from scratch pretty much because of the state you left her in. Of course she wouldn't want you near her. Hell no one wanted you near her, if it wasn't for me you probably wouldn't even be this close to her. But now after that? I don't know." Aubrey said.

The rest of the car ride was spent in silence till they arrived at Aubrey and Jesse's.

"Get some ice on that while I call Jesse." Aubrey sighed. She knew this was going to be bad.

"Hey Aubrey, how'd it go?" Jesse asked.

"Jess, Stacie punched Chloe after she slapped her. That's how it went." Aubrey answered.

Jesse stopped what he was doing "What? what the hell happened?"

Aubrey went on to tell him everything from the car ride there, to the events inside Stacie's apartment and the car ride back.

"See? This is exactly why I wanted her as far away from us as possible." Jesse said.

"I know but what know?" Aubrey asked.

"Well now we hope that Stacie calms down and realizes it wasn't Beca's fault." Jessie sighed.

Hey guys! yeah so I decided to make Chloe go full bitch mode lol next chapter is going to involve Beca finding out about the incident plus what she and Halsey came up with.
