Chapter 29
"Alright Beca, what do you have?" Halsey asked.
The two of them had been trying to come up with a plan for Beca to confess her feelings too Stacie.
"Well, I thought we could do something along the lines of asking her to meet up somewhere and have it be real romantic and what not. Like have a bunch of our pictures surrounding us with candles or lanterns lighting up the area. Then I'll just sing and tell her how I feel." Beca said a bit unsure. Beca never really was good at planning this type of stuff, she always did better when she would wing it.
"Ok that could work. We could lead her there while you wait for us to bring her. We just need a location." Halsey said.
"My backyard? I mean I got that gazebo in the back that's lit up and is surrounded by tress. We could do a pretty good set up back there, I got the space." Beca said.
"I like it. Now you need to pick the songs and we need to go set up." Halsey said.
Beca nodded and the two headed out. On their way out they ran into CR and Jesse.
"Hey guys, we came up with a plan and were going to go set it up. How's it going here?" Beca asked.
"It's going good Becs." CR answered.
Jesse meanwhile was quiet; he didn't know how Beca was going to react to the news of what had went down.
"Jess you good?" Beca asked.
"Umm yeah. But uh something happened." Jesse said hesitantly while scratching his neck.
Beca raised a brow "Go on."
"Well you see, Bree went to Stacie's with Chloe and well Stace may have slapped Chloe. And punched her." Jesse said slowly.
Beca and Halsey's eyes shot opened and were momentarily stunned.
"What? what the hell happened over there?" Beca pretty much shrieked.
Jesse went on to give her the same explanation that Aubrey had given him about the situation.
"Great, just what I needed." Beca groaned.
Halsey placed her hand on Beca's shoulder "Come on scrappy, let's go set things up and then deal with everything else. Give her time to calm down and sort her mind right."
Beca nodded and the two headed towards Beca's house. Once they arrived Beca and Halsey started to print photos out and pick which ones they thought were the nicest to use. After printing out about 50 different pictures they headed outside towards the back of the yard where the trees and gazebo were. They decided to make it similar to an art exhibit, using each tree to put up a picture creating a showcase leading up to the gazebo. Once at the gazebo they had a good amount of pictures remaining.
"Alright what if you make a collage with the rest? Do you have some type of board laying around?" Halsey asked.
"Yeah, we had used it for a show once." Beca headed towards the garage and grabbed a board they had used at a show. The board was like the boards teachers would use in classrooms to pin reminders.
Beca grabbed it and the two set it up right in front of the gazebo pinning the remaining pictures on it. Once all the pictures were lined up they started to place the candles along each tree and around the gravel walkway.
"Not bad." Beca commented looking at there handy work.
"Now you need to pick out what songs you want to use." Halsey patted her shoulder.
"I got an idea." Beca smiled.
They proceeded to go over the possible songs finally going with the two Beca had originally felt would work best. Beca grabbed a keyboard and her guitar and set them both up in the backyard and went over the songs a couple of times. She wanted this to be a perfect as Stacie was to her. Once she had everything down and ready, she checked her phone and saw that almost two hours had past by.
"You think she's good by now?" Beca asked.
"Well only one way to find out." Halsey said as she grabbed her phone dialing up Stacie.
"Hello?" Stacie answered after three rings.
"Hey girl, how you doing?" Halsey asked.
Stacie sighed "I'm sure you probably know everything by now so as good as I can be right now."
"At least you know the truth though." Halsey mentioned.
"Yeah but it still sucks you know." Stacie commented.
"I know it does. But you can't really blame Beca, It's not really her fault." Halsey said.
"I know it's not. I don't blame her, It's the fact that she wouldn't let me know. I mean I know we're not dating but still. It would have been nice to have some type of heads up." Stacie commented.
"I get that Stacie I do but you know how that munchkin is." Halsey joked.
Beca just glared at that name and mumbled "I'm not a munchkin."
Stacie chuckled "Yeah I know."
"Listen can you come over? please?" Halsey asked.
Stacie thought about it for a few "Come on Stace, I promise you won't regret it." Halsey added.
"Yeah fine. I'll get dressed and head out." Stacie answered.
"Perfect." Halsey said and hung up.
She turned to Beca "Alright munchkin get ready." Halsey patted her on head.
Beca swatted her hand away "Your two inches taller!" She exclaimed.
Halsey smirked "Aww is the munchkin mad?"
Beca glared at her and cursed her out under her breath while she headed upstairs to get ready. Leaving Halsey in a laughing fit in the kitchen.
Beca showered up and changed into white t-shirt with dark blue jeans and put on a leather jacket with some black combat boots. She curled her hair a bit and did her usual light makeup, she wanted to look nice for Stacie. Stacie had just texted Halsey that she was turning into Beca's neighborhood.
"Beca! she's turning in now!" Halsey shouted causing Beca to grab a bandana to use as a blindfold and rush downstairs.
"Here, blindfold her." Beca said as she tossed Halsey the red bandana.
"Freaky." Halsey joked.
"Ha ha, hilarious." Beca deadpanned.
"Just go get in position." Halsey said dismissively.
Beca quickly headed out the back sliding doors and lit up each candle while dimming the lights on the gazebo. Halsey meanwhile waited by the door for Stacie to pull up. When she saw Stacie's Range Rover pull up she opened the door. Stacie got out and was wearing a black t-shirt with a denim jacket and a pair of black jeans along with black and white converse. Stacie walked up to the door and gave Halsey a hug.
"I missed you." Halsey said.
Stacie pulled back and smiled "Missed you to."
Halsey lead her into the house and towards the kitchen, she decided to give Beca a few more minutes before pulling out the bandana.
"There's a surprise waiting for you." Halsey smiled.
Stacie looked puzzled "Where?"
"I'll take you to it. But first, we got to put this on you." Halsey smiled.
"Why?" Stacie asked slowly.
"Trust me." Halsey said chuckling.
Stacie sighed and nodded. Halsey proceeded to tie the bandana like a blindfold, once she confirmed that Stacie couldn't see she lead her outside. She carefully lead her to where the pictures started and moves beside her.
"Alright Stace, be patient and enjoy ok?" Halsey asked.
Stacie nodded and Halsey took off the blindfold slowly. Stacie had to blink a few times to get her sight back. When her sight adjusted she took in what she was looking at. Memories and pictures of Beca and her were surrounding her being perfectly lit up by the candles and the natural light from the moon. Pictures going back to Barden, highlighting memorable nights and some that they just took for fun. Stacie couldn't help the big smile brought to her face as she scanned each photo on each tree. She slowly made her way up to the gazebo and stopped when she made eye contact with Beca. Beca smiled and gave a small wave before nodding her head towards the board. On the board was some of their favorite photos they had taken together over the years, Stacie's smile just got wider and she started to walk closer.
Beca put her hand up "Stay please, take a seat." Beca said as she pointed to the chair she had set up in front go the gazebo steps. She was the using the gazebo as a mini stage.
Stacie nodded and sat down with a smile as she waited for Beca to say something.
Beca sat down on the stool she had next to her keyboard and guitar "So umm I'm not really good with these things so here goes nothing. First I want to say sorry about the whole Chloe thing earlier today, I swear it wasn't what it looked like. I only went because Aubrey asked and I knew it would mean a lot to her if I went. And I heard about what happened at your place, all I could say is I wish I could have witnessed that." Beca and Stacie both chuckled along with Halsey who was secretly recording all this. I mean she did help set this up after all, it's only right she witnesses this.
Beca continued "Look Stace, I know I say this a lot but for the past six years you've been my best friend and the person I always went to for any little thing I had. Even when I was dating Chloe, I still went to you for help and advice. And for the past two and half years you've been my rock and pretty much my other half. Umm, I just want to say thank you for everything you've done for me and put up with." Beca smiled and took a deep breath "I umm. You know I speak better through music so I have a couple things to play for you that'll perfectly describe things. If that's alright with you." Beca said a bit shyly.
Stacie who was still beaming and feeling a bit emotional nodded for her to proceed.
Beca smiled and grabbed her guitar "I wrote both of these recently. The first one I called "LOVE IN THE DARK" Hope you like it."
Beca proceeded to strum out the chords before softly singing too Stacie. Stacie was trying to hold her tears at bay hearing the words and at how softly Beca was pouring her emotions towards her.
"I'll be there to pull you back up

And I can't leave you alone
And when the stars are falling down
There's love in the dark."
Beca song the last words and strummed the last chords while never breaking eye contact with Stacie. Beca gave Stacie a smile and took a deep breath before placing her guitar down.
Stacie couldn't help the few tears that slipped out during the song. She thought it was beautiful and the way Beca sang it made it that more lovely. "That was beautiful Beca." Stacie said softly wiping the few stairs on her cheek.
"Thanks Stace. I have one more for you. This is "How Long Will I love you"." Beca said grabbing her keyboard.
This song brought out the tears completely, Stacie was smiling when she heard the lyrics. At this point Stacie knew that Beca did in fact feel the same and she couldn't help but shed some tears at that. This is what she had wanted for a while now and it was finally happening.
"How long will I love you
As long as stars are above you
And longer if I may."
Beca finished the last song and just like the first one she never broke her eye contact with Stacie. Once she finished she gave Stacie a smile and got up to walk towards her. When she was in front of the taller girl she grabbed her hands and smiled.
"Stace, I hope those songs got my point across and my message. Stacie your so much more than just my best friend, You're the one I always want to spend my time with, the one I always want to talk to and the only one I want to be with. Stacie If you can't tell, I'm madly in love with you like insanely in love with you." Beca smiled and squeezed Stacie's hand.
That was music to Stacie's ears, hearing that was what she had waited for. "Beca your songs more than got your message across." Stacie got up "Beca you've always been more then just my best friend, even back in Barden I felt this pull towards you that I couldn't exactly pinpoint. But I just passed it off as a best friend type thing. But over the past couple of months I realized that it was more than just a best friend type thing. I just didn't want to say anything because of what happened with Chloe. That's why I reacted the way I did today." Stacie said as the tears were coming down.
Beca reached up and wiped off the tears with her thumb "So seeing as we both feel the same way. Anastasia Heather Conrad will you do me the honor and officially be mine?" Beca asked with a smile.
Stacie laughed "Nothing would make me happier Rebecca Elizabeth Mitchell." Stacie said.
Beca's smile got even bigger and tightly embraced Stacie in a hug. After a few moments Beca pulled back looked up at Stacie and placed her hands on the back of her neck. They both slowly leaned in softly kissed, putting nothing but love into the kiss. They pulled away after a few and smiled while looking at each other.
"Absolutely beautiful guys!" Halsey exclaimed from her spot behind one of the trees.
Beca laughed and rested her forehead against Stacie's shoulder "Thanks ghost." Beca said.
Stacie looked over and saw the camera "You got all that?"
Halsey smiled and held it up "Every single second." She shook it and laughed.
Beca and Stacie both chuckled "Well that wasn't part of the plan but I'm glad you did." Beca said.
The three eventually did clean up the back and placed the pictures together and Beca put the instruments back in the room where she has the rest of her instruments.
Once everything was cleaned up they went to the kitchen where Beca and Stacie cooked while Stacie baked a congratulatory cake. After they had eaten and cleaned up everything Halsey went to get ready for bed leaving Stacie and Beca alone.
The two were cuddled up on the sofa watching some TV and they both had the same thought in their head.
"This is where I belong with the person I belong with."

I'm not sure how many more chapters this story will have but I was originally aiming for 31-33 chapters.
Also I'm going to post an alternate version of my other story so if your intrested lmk which version you like better and that's what I'll use to continue it :)
