Chapter 34

Today was the day of the final Beats show meaning that Beca, Halsey and Emily had to be at Madison Square Garden early in the morning for sound check. They had to figure out in what order they wanted to everything and how they wanted the production to go down. Sound check was at 9 in the morning and it was currently 7:30 in the morning. Beca got up with a groan before nudging Stacie.

"Baby, get up or I'm leaving without you." Beca said getting out of bed.

Stacie groaned "Alright babe." Stacie sat up and stretched rubbing her eyes.

Beca and Stacie headed over to the bathroom to do their typical morning routine. Once they were all done freshening up they headed to their closet to get ready.

"Do you guys have any idea of how the set list is going to go?" Stacie asked.

Beca shook her head "Nah, we know what songs to preform just not the order." Beca answered.

Stacie nodded and took off her sleeping clothes. Beca grabbed a burgundy sports bra and put it on under a black cropped hoodie to go with some black sweatpants and her burgundy vans. Stacie meanwhile put on a white tank top and grey sweatpants with her white converse.

After they got dressed Beca grabbed her burgundy Atlanta Braves hat and headed downstairs to the kitchen. Stacie was already making some toast and eggs when Beca got there.

"Where's the other two at?" Beca asked.

Stacie shrugged "Getting ready maybe."

"I got this." Beca said with a chuckle.

Stacie looked at Beca with a questioning look. Beca went over to the hallway closet next to the kitchen and pulled out a megaphone.

"This should get them down here." Beca joked as she turned it on.

Stacie laughed "Do your worst."

Beca pressed the on button that turned on the siren sound effect before speaking into it "Attention Idiots staying here, come eat before we leave you two. Attention idiots come down." Beca said before turning it off and grabbing the plate Stacie handed to her.

The two heard footsteps descending the stairs followed by grumbling.

"Look who decided to join us." Stacie joked.

"Was that really necessary?" Emily whined as she sat down.

"Seriously, a simple shout would've done the job." Halsey said as she sat down.

Stacie passed the two a plate and Beca gave a shrug "It got the job done."

The four of them quickly ate before heading out towards Stacie's Range Rover.

Madison Square Garden

Once they arrived they were ushered to the backstage area by one of the event coordinators.

"Since you are the closing act you'll have a max of an hour and half to get everything settled before we have to finish the stage set up." The coordinator said.

"Alright thank you." Beca answered.

"Alright so how do you all want to do this?" Beca asked.

"What if we do the same as London?" Halsey asked.

"Us just alternating?" Beca asked back.

"Yeah, we can do like a battle style performance. I sing a song then you counter back with one of yours." Halsey said.

Beca took a second to consider "I like it, that could work. Then we can finish it up with Strangers since it's a collab." Beca said.

Halsey smiled "Perfect."

"After that, we bring in Emily for the ending." Beca said looking towards Emily.

Emily nodded and smiled "I'm down."

The three headed onto the stage and went through a couple different sets. Beca and Halsey wanted to use songs that went together for their battle portion of the performance. Beca had decided to use some of the older songs that she had written and recently recorded for this show and the album she wanted to release. They had decided to throw in a couple of mixes to start off their set before they began to sing their singles. When they finally found the combination of songs they liked they worked on the ending. They had told Emily when to come on and decided on what song to do first.

"Alright guys, so I want to do something special for Stacie when we do the announcement." Beca said quietly when they were taking a break.

"We're listening." Halsey said with a nod.

"I have this new song that I want to bust out before the announcement." Beca said.

"Aww can we hear it?" Emily asked happily.

"Sorry klutz, you're going to have to wait." Beca winked.

Emily pouted "Can we at least know what it's called?" Emily asked.

Beca chuckled "Perfect."

"Sounds romantic." Halsey joked.

Beca shrugged "You have no idea." Beca said with a chuckle.

They went over Beca's plan for the song before letting the coordinators know how their set was going to go. They also decided how they wanted the lights, smoke, pyro and what they wanted to be projected on the screen. When they had everything checked off and cleared they headed out towards Stacie's car.

"So how's everything looking?" Stacie asked with a smile.

"Like it's going to be an amazing set." Beca answered back.

They headed back to Beca's to relax and get prepared for the show.

Beca's House

"Alright so the show starts at seven, and we'll be going on at about ten. We need to get there early for the press stuff, so we should leave by five to get there by at least five thirty." Beca said as they entered the house.

"So we have about four hours." Beca added.

They spent those four hours relaxing, going over details about the set and eating as much as they could before the show. They all started to get ready at around three each taking a shower and picking out their outfits. The three of them had decided to match similar to the London show. For this show they wanted to go with a NY color scheme; including white, orange, blue and red. Halsey got the color orange, she opted for a white oversized mesh half-zip hoodie with orange stripes and strings, with the name of her album on both sleeves and the abbreviation "hfk" on the back. Under she was wearing a white bra with orange paint splatter and a pair of white denim hot pants. She went with a pair of white and orange Air Jordan 12s to finish off her outfit.

Beca got red, she went with a two-tone red and white mesh hoodie with red sleeves and red hood with the mesh in white with the words "I'm no sweet dream" going down the left sleeve in white while the right sleeve had the words "I'm a hell of a nightmare" going down it. Beneath the hoodie she was wearing a white sports bra with red paint splatter to go with a pair of high-waisted ripped white denim shorts. She picked out a pair of white and red Air Jordan 14s to complete her outfit.

Leaving Emily who got the color blue, who went with a cropped blue and white mesh hoodie with the words "We are" on the front in white and "All Nightmares" in the back. With a white sports bra with blue paint splatter underneath and a pair of white denim shorts. To finish off she went with a pair of white and blue Air Jordan 13s.

They all straightened their hair similar and did their makeup lightly. Even Stacie went along with their theme, she had on a white and red two-tone top and a pair of blue ripped denim shorts with a pair of white and blue off-white Air Jordan 1s. After they all double-checked their outfits and were happy with the results, they piled into Stacie's Range Rover. The team had all agreed on meeting up with the girls at the arena where the performers had to park.

Madison Square Garden

They arrived at the venue and were quickly ushered backstage to do some press and some stuff for social media. Beca, Halsey and Emily had to answer a variety of questions about music, the label, their friendship and of course their love lives. They spent about an hour doing all the press before heading to side area to watch the opening acts and enjoy the show before having to go on.

"Nervous about tonight?" Stacie asked Beca as she wrapped an arm around Beca and kissed her on the head.

Beca smiled and leaned into the embrace "Honestly yeah I am." Beca responded. Truth be told Beca wasn't nervous about the set, no she was nervous about the announcement and her surprise for Stacie.

"I'm sure everything will go fine." Stacie smiled.

About two hours later the girls were told to go and get their mics set up and make sure everything was to their liking. Once everything was checked they were told they were going on in about fifteen.

Beca patted Emily on the arm "Ready klutz?" Beca asked with a smile.

Emily smiled and nodded "Totally."

Once they received there nod to go on stage, all the lights shut off. Halsey took her spot as the beginning of "Gasoline" started up causing the crowd to instantly get loud. The lights started to flash along with the beat till her verse started. The crowd was singing along to the whole song and Beca was itching to get up on stage. As soon as the last beat played Beca walked on stage and gave a quick wave before the beat for her song played. The song she was currently preforming was called "Radioactive" the crowd was loving it and were all jumping up and down. Once the song finished Beca spoke to the crowd.

"New York! How you guys doing tonight!?" Beca asked and received a loud ovation "Glad to hear you are enjoying yourselves. So this is how this set is going down, Halsey and I are doing a battle style performance." Beca said.

"Exactly, I'll be singing a song then Beca will come back with one of her songs." Halsey said.

"And obviously everything I sing will be new since you've never heard any of this." Beca joked.

"I'll be preforming pretty much my whole album just for you guys." Halsey said causing the fans to go crazy.

"With that said, HIT IT!" Beca shouted.

The two took turns going back and forth with there songs. Halsey by this point had preformed eight songs from her new album while Beca had debuted eight new songs.

"Alright NY, sadly this is the second to last one we got for you for this portion of the set." Halsey said.

"This last one is actually a mashup that we'll be singing ourselves. Including Halsey's Don't Play and a song I call Bitch Better Have My Money. Hope you all enjoy." Beca smirked.

The two girls were flawlessly preforming this mashup, they were in complete sync going back and forth between the verses. The crowd was enjoying the whole set and this was a big way to end the first portion of it.

"NY time to bring this portion to an end." Halsey said.

"This is Strangers." Beca said.

Despite Halsey's album only being out for two days everyone was singing along word for word during every song. It was almost as if they had been listening to it on repeat non-stop, every artists dream.

When the song was over the two girls gave each other a quick embrace and took a quick bow to the crowd.

"Thank you guys." Beca smiled.

"Thank you all for the love and support, hope you all enjoyed this set." Halsey said.

"This next part involves a very special friend of mines. Someone who I consider as my baby sis, everyone give it up for Emily Junk!" Beca said excitedly.

Emily slowly walked on the stage with a big smile and wave.

"As you all know we released her two songs not long ago and we're here to preform them for you guys." Beca said.

"I hope you all enjoy." Emily said as she took her spot.

They started with "Starving" first with Emily absolutely killing it. She was definitely not nervous up there and was dancing around and singing like she was back at Barden with the girls. And the crowd was definitely feeding off her energy. Beca and the rest of the team couldn't help but smile seeing Emily up on the stage living out her dreams. They smoothly transitioned to "Let Me Go" with the two girls singing beautifully together and enjoying the moment. They came to an end with Emily giving Beca a tight embrace.

"Thank you so much! This was amazing." Emily said into her ear.

Beca laughed "This is what you have to look forward to now." Beca responded.

Beca turned back to the crowd "Thank you. Now time for the grand finale. Now I want to bring up a very very special person in my life, Stacie come on up." Beca said motioning to the taller girl.

The crowd started to cheer at the sight of the taller blonde. Stacie gave a quick wave before coming to a stop right in front of Beca. Beca gave Halsey a nod and Halsey brought out a stool.

"I need you to sit for this." Beca smiled.

"Uh what's going on Bec?" Stacie asked confused.

When Stacie sat down Beca smiled and grabbed her hand "I got a surprise for you. I made this song a couple days ago just for this moment. I'm sure everyone here knows how close Stacie and I are, people always assume that we're dating or that there's a past here. Well we're here to tell you guys that yes we are officially dating." Beca said which lead to a loud ovation and a smile on everyone's face.

"And since this show was such a big moment for many reasons, nothing means more to me then this girl right here. This girl has literally been my other half since college and has been the best thing to ever happen to me. I know I wouldn't be here if it wasn't for her and for that I'll forever be grateful. I could honestly go on and on about this girl and my feelings for her but I won't, instead I'll sing about it. This song is called "Perfect" the one word I use to describe you Stacie Conrad."

As the beginning notes started pictures of the two girls throughout the years started to appear on the screen. Everyone had there phones out and were recording this special moment.

"I found a love for me
Darling just dive right in
And follow my lead
Well I found a girl beautiful and sweet
I never knew you were the someone waiting for me
'Cause we were just kids when we fell in love."

Beca who still hadn't let go of Stacie's hand was standing in front of the taller girl and was looking at her in the eyes with a smile.

"Baby, I'm dancing in the dark with you between my arms
Barefoot on the grass, listening to our favorite song
When you said you looked a mess, I whispered underneath my breath
But you heard it, darling, you look perfect tonight."

Beca sang the song as softly and beautiful as possible. She wanted to express her true feelings and love through this song and performance. This wasn't just for show, this was in a way to prove to everyone that she was so over the Chloe saga and fully invested and dedicated to the girl in front of her. Just like Halsey told her back in London, Stacie deserved Beca's everything. Beca was hoping this song got that message across.

"Baby, I'm dancing in the dark, with you between my arms
Barefoot on the grass, listening to our favorite song
I have faith in what I see
Now I know I have met an angel in person
And she looks perfect
I don't deserve this
You look perfect tonight."

Beca finished softly and gave Stacie a small smile. Stacie meanwhile had tears slowly spilling out of eyes and couldn't hold back the smile that crept on her face. Stacie pulled Beca closer and wrapped her up in a tight embrace which Beca instantly returned.

"That was beautiful baby, I absolutely loved it." Stacie said.

Beca pulled away and kissed her "And I love you babe."

Stacie smiled "I love you too."

So there most likely will only be one last chapter which will give it one last bang as the final wrap up :)

And i'm glad you're enjoying the stories as much as you are especially with everything going on in the world, and what you said dosen't sound wierd or anything lol. I'm glad you feel like you are appreciated because you are :) you've given me great ideas that have helped me add more to this story so thank you for that. It really does mean a lot!
