Chapter 35
Six months later
It's been six months since the final Beats show back in NY. In those six months Halsey's album killed the charts and all types of numbers, Emily had begun working on a debut album, Beca had signed more talent to her label and lastly Beca had released her album two months ago. Beca's debut album to this point had peaked at number three on the charts and was doing better than she ever thought. Beca and Halsey were set to go on tour together for Halsey's album with Beca actually agreeing to open up for Halsey. Beca honestly couldn't be in a better position for her life at the moment.
Stacie had also been doing extremely well, she had landed the cover for maxim along with being asked to be a part of the Victoria Secret fashion show. Her relationship with Beca couldn't be better as the two had moved into Beca's house together and had been able to maintain their relationship healthy while dealing with their crazy careers. The two had been the new power couple that the media couldn't get enough of. They were everywhere being on live TV doing interviews, photo shoots, premieres, award shows and all over social media.
Which leads us to today, Grammy night. Today was lined up to be huge for Beca considering that Halsey and her were up for pretty much every category. The two were up for ten nominations combined. Beca was up for producer of the year, best engineered album, best dance record, best new artist and song of the year. While Halsey was up for record of the year, album of the year, song of the year, best pop solo performance and best pop vocal album. To say the two were ecstatic would be an understatement.
Beca, Stacie, Halsey and Emily we're currently at Halsey's house in LA getting ready for the red carpet. All four of them had kept what they were wearing a surprise from each other, so they were all in separate rooms getting ready. Beca decided to wear a black Band of Outsiders suit with just the suit jacket on with nothing underneath showing off some major skin. She accompanied the suit with some black Jimmy Choo pumps, keeping her makeup light as well as her jewelry. She let her hair down and curled it a bit at the bottom to give it a cascading look.
Stacie had picked out a red Lorena Sarbu fitted lace bodice gown who similar to Beca was showing off some major skin. She paired it with a pair of silver Jimmy Choo pumps and kept her makeup light as well as her jewelry. She had straightened her hair and let it down.
Halsey opted for a red Julien MacDonald gown with a thigh-high silt and cut-our detailing at the midriff. She paired the dress with sky-high red Jimmy Choo sandals and a pair of dangling earrings. She kept her makeup light as well going with red lipstick to match the dress and shoes. She had her hair in a tight ponytail letting two strands lose on both sides of her face.
Lastly Emily had chosen a Prada ivory silk satin slip on dress with a decadent crystal jeweled net overlay. She paired this with white Jimmy Choo pumps and jewels to compliment the crystal net overlay. She did her hair similar to Beca's and let it cascade down the right side also going for light makeup.
Once they were all done getting ready, they met up by the front door.
"Shit we all look hot." Halsey said with a chuckle.
They took some pictures together before hopping in the Escalade that was awaiting them. The whole car ride to Staples Center was spent talking about what each girl was most excited about. Beca and Halsey both mentioned their performances while Emily said she was most excited to just be invited. Stacie was most excited to see how many awards the two girls would take home.
Once they arrived at the venue, they all looked out the windows and saw the red carpet with countless people there.
"Wow we're actually here." Emily said.
"Yes, we are." Beca said with a smile.
"Showtime." Stacie joked.
They all stepped out and the fans started to scream when they were spotted. Cameras started to snap pictures of the group immediately. They gave a friendly wave and smile while walking towards the area. They met up with the rest of the team who were standing off to the side. After a quick talk between everyone they proceeded towards the carpet.
Before they could get on the carpet a host came over and stopped them.
"Excuse me Beca, do you mind?" The reporter asked and pointed towards the camera.
Beca looked towards everyone receiving a nod "No I got time."
The reporter smiled "How about the rest of you?"
Everyone agreed "Perfect." The reporter turned towards the cameraman and got the signal "I'm here with non-other then Beca Mitchell, Stacie Conrad, Emily Junk and Halsey." He said with such enthusiasm.
"Now girls firstly I want to congratulate you for all the success you've achieved and for all the nominations." After a getting a thanks he proceeded "How's it feel being here today?"
"It's honestly overwhelming. It's crazy how much has changed in my life over the last couple years. And being here it's a blessing and I couldn't be more thankful for everyone." Beca smiled.
"Now Beca and Halsey you two are up for about every award possible, what's that like?" The reporter asked.
Beca nudged Halsey "It's insane truth be told. When Beca and I started this album, we had no idea that it would be received this well. Obviously, you want your work to do well but this is insane." Halsey said with a smile.
"Yeah it was originally supposed to be something that people could relate to and just enjoy." Beca smiled.
"One last question girls, I wouldn't be doing my job is I didn't ask. How is the everyone's favorite couple doing?" The reporter asked with a chuckle.
Beca and Stacie smiled and looked at one another "Never better, we're just enjoying every moment together and making the most of everything we have with one another." Beca replied.
"Exactly, we just want to be happy together and stay clear of any drama. At the end of the day as long as I can come home to this one, then I got all I need." Stacie said.
"Well isn't that just adorable. I'll let you girls get to the festivities. Enjoy the night and once again congrats on all the success and keep it up." The reporter said with a smile and nod before the girls thanked him.
They continued their way down the carpet stopping for more interviews and taking pictures till they reached the end.
"Ok so Beca and Halsey you two are the last two performers. So, you don't have to do much until they come and get you about 20 minutes before your time." Jessie said as they entered the doors to head to their seats.
Both girls gave a quick nod before taking their seats. Beca and the team including Halsey all had their seats right next to each other in the front center row.
It was two hours into the night and Beca had racked up three Grammys out of the five that she was up for so far. Halsey on the other hand had racked up two out of the five she was up for so far. They were now set to announce record of the year which Halsey's "Bad At Love" was up for.
"And the award goes to." The presenter said before opening up the envelope "Bad At Love, Halsey."
Halsey got up with the biggest smile and engulfed Beca in a tight embrace before grabbing her by the hand "This is yours too."
Beca tried to object "Nope, you produced this so this just as much mine as yours."
The two made their way up the stage with Halsey holding the award before handing it over to Beca "Alright so at this point I'm running out of things to say." Halsey joked "This honestly goes to this shorty right here." She said pulling Beca towards her "Beca right here is the mastermind behind this record. She made the beat and produced it to perfection which is why she won producer of the year. Thank you again to all our fans for the love you shower us with daily." Halsey said before stepping aside.
Beca steppes up "Uh I'm not taking all the credit; Halsey still sang her heart out on this track which made it easy to create such a great song. Like Halsey said we just want to thank all our supporters and thank you all for giving us the motivation to keep doing what we do."
The two went backstage to take some photos and answer some questions before handing the award to the people in charge of holding on to it.
"Man, we're going to run out of hand space to carry these things." Halsey joked.
"I already ran out of space." Beca said holding out her hands "Small person small hands." Beca joked back.
The two made it back to their seats as best new artist was going to be announced after the current performer finished.
"So, you each have three each now, who's going to end with more?" Stacie joked.
The two girls laughed "I still got my money on scrappy over there." Halsey said.
"I got my money on ghost. Bad At Love killed it in the charts." Beca said back.
"I don't know babe, I got to side with Ash here." Stacie smiled.
Beca shook her head "You're only saying that cause it's your job."
It was now time for best new artist to be presented. An award which Demi was presenting alongside Big Sean.
"And now the award for best new artist goes to." Demi said before she opened it "Beca Mitchell." They both said in unison.
Beca's eyebrow shot up as she looked towards Stacie and Halsey. She was actually shocked that she would win this award.
"Go on." Stacie and Halsey said as they nudged her.
Beca gave Stacie a quick kiss before heading up towards the stage. She gave Demi a tight hug before giving Sean a tight hug and accepting the award "Wow I honestly didn't see myself winning this one. I just want to say thank you to my fans who went out and streamed and bought the album along with all the other stuff I've put out, this wouldn't be possible without you. Mainly all my thanks goes to my team, without the eight of you I honestly wouldn't be here. You guys pulled me out of a tough spot and got me back to my passion, you guys never once left my side and I will forever be thankful for each and every one of you. And to everyone who I've worked with along the way thank you as well for giving me motivation to continue." Beca finished with a smile and bow before walking backstage.
After a couple more performances and awards it was now time for the second to last award which was album of the year. Halsey had already told Beca that is she won Beca was going up with her.
"And the album of the year goes to." The presenter opened up the envelope "hopeless fountain kingdom, Halsey."
Halsey jumped to her feet and gave everyone a hug before looking towards Beca once again engulfing the smaller girl in a hug before the two went up to the stage.
"Sheesh this is incredible; this one means a lot to me. I put so much time and effort into this project and hoped that people would enjoy it and be able to relate to what the songs were talking about. Once again, I have to thank Beca for agreeing to work with and be my producer for this album. Honestly without her this album wouldn't be what it turned out to be, she helped on not only the production but the writing on some songs and really made everything that much better. Lastly thank you again to all the fans who supported this album and listened to it nonstop. We wouldn't be here with you all." Halsey smiled and waived before walking backstage with Beca. The moment they arrived backstage, the coordinators cane up to them and told them they were up in fifteen.
I'm going to break the Grammys chapter into two since I don't want to write too long of a chapter.
Hey guys, I know I haven't uploaded in a moment but I've been so caught up with school and just life in general. I've been uploading more stories as well as updating these stories more frequently over on Wattpad because it's just more convenient since I can do it straight from my phone. I'll most likely stick to posting over there and update on here when I have the chance to.
