LILY KILLED JILY, Or Did She?
CHAPTER 24
AUTHOR'S NOTE:
"Sirius broke our code!" James said indignantly. "I am so mad at him."
"Really?" Lily pointed out, they were on a date. Something he wanted for a long time. And something she wanted as well.
"Yeah, okay..." James grinned widely.
JAMES AND SIRIUS FLASHBACK: Sirius convincing James to ask out Lily once again...just one more time.
"Hey, Jamie boy!" Sirius waited on the sofa, while James just came inside the house, and dropped the keys on the coffee table.
"Hey, Padfoot, what are you doing awake till now?"
"Just that, I haven't seen you since, I dunno like, forever, so I thought I'll wait for you." Sirius told him. "You know, Have a bro's night!"
Then he looked at his watch and it said, 5:30.
"A bro's morning!" Sirius went into the kitchen and James followed him.
They were sitting on the table and eating in ten minutes.
"This is okay!" James shoved the pancake in his mouth. "I don't have to throw it out."
"I am glad, Your Highness!" Sirius sniggered.
Silence followed for a few seconds as Sirius watched James eat like a crazy person.
"Hey, Jamesy?"
"Hmmm?" James looked up, his mouth full.
"How is the wedding date going to be?"
"What?" James swallowed, "Oh, that, no, I am just going because she has no one to take, and she had checked plus one."
"So you have given up?" Sirius asked him, "Have you?"
"Given up on what?"
"Lily, what else!" Sirius was exasperated.
"What am I supposed to do!" James picked up the coffee pot, "She made it clear, she doesn't want to go out with me. She told me I was never going to be the one, seriously, Padfoot, I don't think I can get shot down anymore."
He took a sip,
"And I am so over Lily!"
Sirius snickered as James said,
"Oh really, then tell me, why is the Girl-Of-Your-Dreams-You-Don't-Like-Anymore living here? Why haven't you gone out with anyone else ever since Mary from Hogwarts? And if she doesn't like you, why is she living here, and why did she ask you to a wedding!"
Sirius was putting the dishes in the sink, and tied his shoes. "God damn it, Prongs, try to read between the lines, She invited you to a WEDDING! For God sake, Could you be anymore clueless!"
"What?" James was taken back.
"Really, James, You can't see it!" Sirius got off the chair.
"I don't think, this is what you think it is, Padfoot!"
"James, just promise me," Sirius stood near the door, "Just ask her out, one more time, if she says no, which she won't I won't pester you about this. But if she says yes, you would owe me big time, brother!"
James stared at him, he didn't have anything to say.
"You will do it!" Sirius insisted again,
"Okay, okay!" James said distractedly. He was thinking back, where he had missed between the lines, he still thought that Sirius was being crazy.
"Good!" Sirius displayed a wide grin on his face, and went out the door, he had a duty for the day, and the night, He had taken over James's duties for the next 12 hours after his own, so James's could attend the wedding with Lily.
FLASHBACK OVER
BACK TO THE PRESENT: James and Lily on the first official date, in a muggle restaurant...
"Okay, I can forgive him this once, for breaking the code." James grinned wider then ever.
The waiter came back, with water and plates. The waiter put the plates down on the table, and just in a flash of a second he slipped out a knife from his sleeve, and jabbed it James's shoulder. It was so sudden. Both of them were not ready, as the waiter pulled the knife out and jabbed it again a little lower. James got up, and pushed him back. Jmaes was much taller and stronger then the scrawny man who had attacked him with a butcher's knife.
Blood was pouring out from his shoulder and arm, like water from a tap. James had enough time to pull out his wand from his pocket. He saw the men, in the corner table approaching them, he groaned. He right away understood why the place was so deserted.
